I didn't want to get too off track in the introduction thread sweatdrop
Arcanum is a steampunk game of awesomeness that I totally recommend to anyone and everyone ^^ huzzah!
I'm still playing it for the first time and stuff, but I figured it's be cool to have a thread for it

I agree! Arcanum is like *the* steampunk game. It's got everything you could possibly want from a game of steamy goodness.
Think of it like a mix of D&D and the industrial revolution. The sound track is a string orchestra (which is very spiffy, there's a link to download the soundtrack on the game's entry on wikipedia).
It's a shame the company that made the game went bust.. emo They also made the Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines game which was alot of fun as well!
If you've ever played the first Fallout games, it's a similar sort of thing, but obviously instead of the post-nuclear war future, it's set in a fantastic world of magic where people have decided that technology (and the steam engine) is the way forward.
Worth checking out and you can get it for cheap!

Ah! I haven't played in in years, but I remember adoring it! biggrin Skies of Arcadia is another steamy game you should check out.

Arcanum was and still is my favorite stempunk game, i still play it from time to time. PS:Arcanum Ultima edition(Unofficial) is out since march 2008 blaugh PPS: CLICK

Aw jeeeez, I'm so sad to hear the company is gone. Vampire was a superbly brilliant game. I never played Arcanum, because though I was curious and intended to buy it back in the day... I completely forgot its title and never really saw it around again. I didn't even know it was a steampunk game, lol. I'm happy to rediscover it, I'm gonna try to find it later.

blue_lutra -gasp- I forgot all about Skies of Arcadia! I love that game. I ought to finish that, I've never beaten it... ^^;; I beat it, found all of the discoveries and beat all the bounties. Love that game. Tales of Symphonia has it's steampunk moments as well.
