Hi everyone!
I´m not a member of this group yet but after reading some posts here I couldnt help but start this topic.
I am sick and tired of reading people say that Amu and Ikuto shouldnt be together because hes 5 years older than her.
What makes age gaps so important hm!? These days a 5 years gap is nothing between couples. So why should it be in manga?
Anyone read Suki, by CLAMP? Student and teacher.
Or CCS?
Or Fruits Basket? Kyoko and Katsuya are nine years apart.
So why would Amuto not happen because of that? Tell me what you think cause I dont get it.

I think the reason most people complain is because Amu's so young, which isn't going to matter in a few years when she grows up. I personally think a five year gap isn't that big of a deal...I mean when she's 18, Ikuto'll be 23, and at that age no one cares.

Honestly, I think its fine, because there are lots of age gaps in other manga, like fruits basket for example 3nodding
I mean, its just five years, not a whole next generation

Eh, I'm not in this guild but I just felt like replying XD. Hope you don't mind. Well, I'm a big fan of Amuto. But I really HATE age differences larger than 3 years. I mean, especially since Amu is only in like 5th/6th grade and Ikuto is in high school, that's a pretty big maturity level difference. Of course, it's true that it'll be nothing when they're in their 20s, but at the time of the anime/manga I don't feel exactly comfortable. But I still support them either way since they're really cute and I could see it happening. Especially because I don't think manga really cares about age differences and like I said, I could definitely see them ending up together, what with all the Amuto scenes they insert (unless they give her to Tadase which I would not appreciate... XD). But usually, I really do not like age gaps, especially five years. Of course, I make exceptions if I really like them.

Its a big difference when they are younger, but when they are older its not a big difference.

I think it'll be fine once Amu's around fifteen and eighteen. I think it's such a big deal now since she's... What? Twelve? It wouldn't be too good for both Ikuto and Amu's reputations (Amu may care, but Ikuto probably doesn't XD). But, with time, it won't matter. Simple, right?

I wasn't complaining. I personally still think Amuto is the only one they could ever do or I would be very upset with the series.

Big age gaps just don't look cute to me. Unless their older, where really no one really cares. Though, Amu's basically in elementary school right now and Ikuto's a high school senior...? I would just find that sorta weird in real life.
Maybe Ikuto's age could be a lie and he's just really tall...

Huh, I completely forgot to check back on this. Sorry. =_='
Anyway, to most of you. I feel maturity is what counts most in relationships, and that it doesn't matter how big the actual gap is. But thats really just in real life, and since this is anime normal logic doesn't apply, which makes it all the more likely that Amuto will happen..
Tsuyiko no Yume- Why don't you approve of gaps over 3 years? 3 years is nothing. I've been with guys 7 years older than me, :/ and many people would gladly date people 10 years over or under their age.

It's all a matter of a Opinion. I've never brought myself to go past 3 years myself I still admire my 8th Love(Username: Alice Matsuyama) ability to love regardless of age. Though she won't tell her age. I can tell she might pass the 3 year mark from her photos.

BTW, in the manga "Faster Than A Kiss"...Fumino is like, EIGHT years younger than Ojiro...she's only 16 while Ojiro is like, 24...AND OJIRO IS HER CLASSROOM TEACHER!!

i...dont kow whay pepole care... i guess it may be because at that age differece ikuto could be counted a pedifile? idk. i dont really see much of a reason for them not to be together!
