No Elvis and Justin do NOT belong on the same announcement.

-Sighs at the latest Celebrity Snare-

Honestly, it's no slight against J.T. he does actually have a decent singing voice, and can dance. But at the same time putting him on the same page as Elvis seems to be missing a major thing about music. Elvis is a classic- his music still resonates all around us. His songs have been re-made, his look is identifiable, and he is still regarded as "The King".

Justin Timberlake's music is catchy, but 3-5 years later most of us don't think of "Senorita" or um... that song, you know, "talk to me girl... talk to me boy" or something like that were the lyrics. Also I'm not sure what items you could make for J.T., a stunned Janet Jackson ava with a ripped shirt?

I think the harder Gaia tries to push this youth focus the more it misses the point. It's like Gaia is out of date with the youngins as much as it is alienating older members.

*nods in agreement*
Though I have to admit that I thought it was rather amusing.

That just made think of the part in one of the Austin Powers movies where Dr. Evil does the macarena.

Good times.

Also, look at it this way, Antonia: They could've done ALOT worse than Justin Timberlake.

Just sayin'.

I completely agree.
I'm actually sporting an Elvis t-shirt as we speak. Seriously.

on a hilarious side note...

I think Gaia got in trouble with their ad for JT and elvis. This morning, one of the JT avis showing off the new gear had a picture that goes along with one of his most infamous songs "D!ck in a box." I think you can imagine what it was, so I won't say it. **shudders**. Anyway, that specific avi was pulled out of the lineup and replaced with a more "appropriate" one. I guess people had a problem with it, but I haven't seen any forum complaints yet.

Oh, and for those of you who haven't seen JT's SNL video, I provide to you a link:

As for Elvis and JT being announced together, I don't mind it. After all, they did put The incredible Hulk and Snoop Dogg together, seriously, how logical is that. The only thing they have in common is that the hulk is green and Snoop Dogg smokes "greens." I wouldn't look into it too much, I guess.

I would've called it a wee bit insulting for Elvis, but on the other hand there are parachuting Elvises, Elvises that will Marry you in Vegas, alien Elvises and female Elvises...

I think The King is a bit beyond being embarrassed by now, I mean... I know he's dead, but I'm saying Graceland was Disgraced a long time ago.
