Christmas Dance: 12/8/08 - 1/1/09
Attendees: Years 5-7
RP Date: December 24th
RP Time: 7pm-Midnight
RP Location: The Great Hall
Dress Requirement: Formal (girls- dresses; boys- dress robes)

The Great Hall sparkled magnificently, as if the stars were plucked from
the sky to light the ceiling with a lovely, warm glow. The surroundings
basked in beauty; round tables arching around the dance floor, where
frozen snowflakes drifted, so to keep the swaying dancers cool and their
cheeks flushed and pink. Mischievous mistletoe fairies snuck up on
unsuspecting party-goers, keeping them locked in spot till the traditional
kiss was shared, before looking for their next victim. And the captivating,
endlessly tall tree glittered proudly in all its ornaments, tinsel and lights,
wearing the star on its head as though it was the most glorious hat ever
created. Which, to those so struck with Christmas cheer, it was. And to
top the entire shindig off, music sweetened the peppermint air. Changing
smoothly from one beat to the next, from one song to another.

Anasazi straightened her ruffly yellow dress as she walked into the Great Hall, looking down at her black patent leather peep-toes. The second she looked up at the beautifully decorated room, she let out an involuntary gasp. Unfocused glitters shone from every point in the Hall, casting shadows on the crystal goblets standing on every table, making rainbows dance in time to the swiftly changing music. "Oh, my." The jewels adorning the strapless top of the ruched dress bodice sparkled, and as Anasazi turned her head to and fro to take it all in, so did her earrings and necklace. Patting the small sprig of mistletoe clipped to her neatly curled red hair, she spun and whirled alone to the rhythms of the cheerful music. She was perfectly content to dance alone for now, but she wouldn't say no to anyone who asked. Her shoes twirled easily on the wooden dance floor, and Anasazi felt herself feeling happier than she had in a long time.

The path up from the Slytherin common room was a cold and silent one. Those winter months always hit the dungeons the hardest. Maybe that's why Morgan opted for a warmer variety of dress. Despite not being a fashionista, the red-head still spent some time choosing what to wear to the ball. There was no way she'd be wearing a shorter bit. Her legs would freeze for sure, even if she danced her heart out. She decided on a forest green off the shoulder dress that just reached the ground, giving her a floating effect when she walked. With a shrug, she decided that she could always summon a shawl if it got too chilly.

Gliding into the great hall, Morgan was struck by the beauty of it all. The mistletoe fairies were a brilliant touch. "I should keep an eye out for them though..." No telling what mischief they would bring. And what rumors that mischief might create. A small collection of frozen snowflakes collected in Morgans loosely curled hair while she stood there admiring. With a light toss of her head, she freed the snow and proceeded to drift towards the tables.

Mellisande wafted into the ballroom, keeping an eye on the mistletoe fairies. She wore a unique creation by her mother, it was deep violet in color, made of silk. It had deep blue embroideries, in the patterns of subtle moons and stars, around the hems. It was cut to flatter her figure, and moved with her as she walked. It had a subtle charm laid into it, to keep her warm, which was good, since it left her shoulders bare, but also had long, sweeping sleeves. She wore matching heels, and black, shimmery stockings. Her hair was swept up, off of her face, into a bun, with ringlet curls framing her face. She had on light makeup, that emphasized the color of her eyes, and the natural redness of her lips. "Mmmm... let's see how this goes."

With a deep calming breath, Ascella walked gracefully into the Great hall. The moment she looked into the large room, her breath was taken away. It was beautiful, even more beautiful than last year. It was cold, the ceiling made it look like it was snowing, there were several mistletoe fairies about, all in all, it was a dream.
The only thing missing was an Escort. Of course, the only person Ascella wanted to go with was not there, even though she was sure that if someone asked she would have gone with them. However, once again, Ascella was dateless to the winter dance.
With a princess cut gown in a powder blue, Ascella looked like a large snow flake. Her sleeveless dress accented her curves beautifully, the silver trim around the dress, with sparkles all around the gown. Around her waist, the dress burst into a beautiful folds of cloth, looking almost like pale blue frosting. Her shoes were simple, silver flats, but the dress was so big that even with her longest strides her feet didn't come out from under the gown. Her long blond hair was tied up in a very fancy style, silver hair clips accented around her face. There was a few strands of hair loose around her face, but it accented her look even more.
Seeing Mellisande, Ascella immediately perked up, a small smile on her face. Picking up the front of her dress, so she didn't trip on it, Ascella scurried over to her Slytherin friend. The simple silver chain around her neck bounced slightly as she moved, still looking rather graceful.
"Good evening Mell." Ascella said with a cheery smile.
"My are you looking lovely today. And I bed it didn't take more than half an hour to get that dress on." Trying to make a Joke, Ascella looked at her own dress. The only reason she had the dress was because her wealthy brother in law gave it to her as an early christmas present. It was sent to her in a box, with a picture of her new nephew Elliot and her sister after he was born two weeks before.
Ascella didn't want to admit it, but she hated her brother in law for it, but she couldn't keep from loving her nephew. Luckily, Elliot looked Melanie, not Lawrence.

Amelia hated Hogwarts dances. Every year she went she was always dateless and she always would be sitting in a corner drinking some punch watching all the lovely couples dance and be merry like there was nothing else in the world that was important. However, it never stopped her from dressing up nice and joining in on the holiday festivities. Leaving the Ravenclaw common room, Amelia walked down to the Great Hall hoping to god that there was someone there that she knew well enough to talk to. Her gown-length emerald green dress swished as she walked along with her midnight black heels clacking on the stone steps as she headed down the stairs into the main entrance hall. Amelia surpressed a shiver as she walked past the open double doors leading out to the grounds of Hogwarts. Pulling her matching emerald green wrap tighter around her shoulders, Amelia stepped into the Great Hall. Staring around the hall she broke into a small smile that there was not one guy in the Great Hall yet. Sighing, Amelia brushed a stray piece of her tied up hair behind her ear and went to sit down hoping someone she knew would arrive soon.

(OOC: The way my hair is set up is similar as to how Hermione had her hair when she attended the Yule Ball in 4th yr. Really its the hairstyle I wore for senior prom but no one would know that but me so yea.)

Running his fingers through his hair, Peter quietly entered the great hall, his eyes to the icy decorations that glittered the large room. Since Peter didn't have any dress robes, he just wore the tuxedo he got from his summer job. Over the summer break, Peter had gotten a part time job at a custom tuxedo shop, and at the summer he had earned his own tux, as well as minimum wage checks at the end of each week.
His tuxedo was lined with deep red satin, silver, his bow tie was a beautiful gold, and he had on a standard white tuxedo shirt. He had spend a while trying to figure out how to put everything on. The suspenders, the jacket, the many, many buttons on the pants. It was all so confusing to him. However, peter did want to look good for the ladies that would be there, hopefully there would be someone new for him to hit on.
Aaah, beautiful ladies, dances, they all attract each other. The only think missing is a bit of schnapps.
Joking with himself, Peter took one more deep breath before continuing further into the Great hall. He saw four girls. All of them he did not know. He did know that he had seen two of them around, The blond in the blue ball gown, and the red head, but he did not know either of their names.
I'm rather sure that they are both slytherins, I better keep my distance.
Straightening his coat, Peter was looking back and forth, trying to see if any teachers where there, since he was worried that he would get in trouble for wearing a tuxedo, not dress robes. Though, his clothes weren't exactly inappropriate, they were just....Against regulations.

Amelia looked up from her spot at the corner table in the Great Hall and noticed it hadn't been very long for one guy to enter the Great Hall and join in on the festivities. Once again the boy wasn't anyone she knew except maybe by face. She knew he was a Gryffindor and that maybe once over the seven years she had been at the school she might've had a class with him but other than that no. He seemed to be very shy or maybe embarrassed. He wasn't dressed in dress robes but rather in a nice muggle tux. It suited him nicely and kinda fit the description of the dress robes, well without the look of the back part of it resembling a dress. Amelia had no clue what to do. She could go up and talk to him or wait for a Ravenclaw she knew to show up but once again her past shyness was taking over. 'Ugh just forget it Amelia. Just drink your punch and wait, you have no business talking to boys you don't know. Brilliant, now I'm beginning to sound like my father.' ....

Damian entered the room, looking around and taking in the sight of the redecorated Great Hall. No matter how many times he's seen the room redecorated, it still astounded him in how quickly it was done and how grand it looked. He himself didn't look to bad: a set of nice black dress robes, with a scarlett-colored bow tie. His hair had been slicked back, something that took a while to get done, but usually looked really good, or so he'd been told.

He scanned the ladies of the room, noting that Anna wasn't there, much to his dismay. He wanted to dance with her, as the music had already started playing. He saw Peter just standing around and decided to start a conversation, rather than join his friend in awkwardly standing around alone.

"Peter! How've you been? I haven't seen you in quite some time. And what's with the tux?" Damian said.

Dancing even before he got to the great Hall, Joel bounced his feet against the floor as he listened to the music. He had on black dress robes, and a bronze bow die, a few bronze accents all around, like the buttons on his coat, he even had bronze studs in his earring holes.
As he entered the great hall, Joel gasped and put his hand over his mouth. The sight of the great hall was a wonderful thing, how beautiful it was. The mistletoe fairies, the icicles, the appearance of snow falling from the sky. And on top of all of that, there were several beautiful ladies all for the taking.
With a small, long 'sexy' whistle, Joel gazed upon several ladies. There were more slytherins in the room than anything, but even though he knew they were cold on the inside, they were smokin' on the outside.
Wow, that maroon gown is gorgeous, and the light blue princess dress is just delightfully innocent.
Seeing a beauty in a green dress, Joel grinned. Well well well Amelia, don't you look lovely. Lets see if you can dance.[/i
Using his hands, Joel touched his hair to make sure that it was still perfectly in place. Of course, it was. He had done it in his usual ducktail style, but had added some glitter to make it even better. However, since his mother had died, he had decided to cut his hair, so it only went towards the front, with no tail in the back.
Sauntering with a slight sway in his hips, Joel took a place next to Amelia, taking the hand that did not have any punch, and kissed it.
"Why Amelia, you look ravishing today. That dress must have cost a fortune."

Louise glided down the hallway and a few flights of stairs from the Ravenclaw Common Room into the Great Hall, her tall figure complemented by her vintage copper-coloured dress with beaded and bejewelled accents. The ruffled layers of the bottom swished against her swiftly moving feet. Her bare shoulders, collarbone, and upper arms were dusted with gold glitter. Her hair, however, was not, as it was straightened and flowing freely around her face and back. She raised her eyebrows with approval and smiled at the sights and sounds emanating cheerfully from the hall. She loved it all already: the pretty girls, the very handsome boys, the strategically placed mistletoe, the glittering unfocused lights. Swaying gently, she made her way over to a table by the corner of the room, smiling at everyone she passed. This should be fun.

Peter almost jumped out of his skin as he herd Damian approach. He had been so focused on the snowflakes on the floor, he didn't even notice. Alright, that was a lie, he was staring at the few slytherin girls across the room. As Damian approached him, his face flushed a little, he had hoped that Damian didn't notice either.
"Hey man! I know, so busy with..." Peter had spent all his free time in the last month either reading old graphic novels, or trying to fly standing up on his broom. Though, Peter didn't want Damian to know that either, so he thought up a lie, and he thought up one quick.
"Studying! Yah, that's what I was doing.." His eyes darted back and forth as he tried to lie, though, he noticed that if was rather ridiculous that he was lieing of such a thing, he just didn't want anyone to know that he read old superhero graphic novels.
"The tux...Well...I don't have any dress robes, and I worked all summer at a Tuxedo shop, going around to all the conventions, bridal, bachelor, ect. To advertise, so I got the tux for free! As well as minimum wage, so it was pretty nice. And if I do say so myself, I think I look very handsome " Peter gave Damian a grin, trying to look rather charming, though, it worked much better on the ladies than his best friend.
"Aaah, so bad I haven't gotten to see Beck either. I was going to ask her to the dance but..." With a sigh, Peter went back to looking at the floor, his hand on his head, ruffling his now messed up hair.

Eloise Mason

PostPosted: Wed Dec 24, 2008 4:45 pm

In a beautiful white dress, Eloise walked slowly, and rather timidly into the Great hall. She had several golden bangles around each wrist, and a golden necklace adorned her neck, matching earrings in her ears.
Seeing Peter and Damian, Eloise perked up rather quickly. Her eyes were locked on Peters tall lean build, next to Damian's slightly shorter frame. It was obvious who would win in a fight, but the chances of them fighting were next to none.
With a smile, Eloise resisted skipping over there, and settled for shuffling her feet quickly. Since she was never very good at walking in heels, especially those tall golden heels, Eloise stopped right next to Damian. She felt rather short next to them, but she didn't feel as short as she normal did when she was next to Nicodemus.
Where is he anyways...My love. I hope he shows up soon...
Eloise had her hair up in a loose bun, her blond locks curled, coming out of the bun, a few strands fell around her face.
She had on light makeup, Eloise had on her usual, but on top of it, she added some mascara, and some glitter to accent her shoulder bones. her dress was long and lean, accenting her curves almost perfectly. It was a very sexy dress, floor length with a cross cross pattern in the back. It was strapless of course, but it was attached perfectly to her frame thanks to that wonderful thing called double sided tape.
"Well hello boys." Was all she could say, her smile widening as she looked at familiar faces.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 24, 2008 9:00 pm

Damian gave a chuckle when he realized he had accidently startled Peter. "Sorry about that, dude." he said. "Yeah, I've been busy too. Just too many things to do." He had a suspicion that Peter wasn't exactly telling the truth about the studying bit, judging by the sound of his uneasy voice, but it wasn't really Damian's business to pry, just as long as Peter wasn't doing something against Hogwarts rules.

When Peter started talking about his tux, Damian took his time to look at the tux. It looked fairly well-made, though obviously not of the highest quality. Damian owned two himself, one high-quality and one not, wearing them only when his parents threw parties for their muggle friends. When his father took him to the shop to buy one, he had explained to Damian the ways to tell between the different qualities of tuxes based on sight and texture. His father had done the same for dress robes as well.

When Peter grinned at him, Damian pretended to look shocked. "Peter! Are you flirting with me?" He said, loud enough so that only Peter could hear him. "Why you dog, what will Beck say if she catches you?" Of course he was only joking around with Peter.

When Eloise approached and greeted them, Damian paused to look at her. She looked pretty in her dress. "Good evening Eloise. You look lovely this evening. That dress compliments you well." He stepped aside so that Peter could also exchange a hello with Eloise.

[Anorexic Penis]

Slowly, almost cautiously, Joseph entered the Great Hall. Darting from one area to the next, Joseph was in awe by the room. Forming a fist and bringing it in front of his mouth, and cleared his throat awkward. The numerous beautiful girls made Joseph nervous. He stuck his hands in his pocket, feeling the familiar feel of the old book pages. After a short inhale of breath, Joseph began further into the room. Joseph felt akward in his dress robes, though they looked similat to the others.

Looking much like a lost child, Joseph continued to watch the people with wide eyes. He spotted Joel, and contemplated on giving a wave. Silently Joseph fixed his bow tie. He never was sure about these, despite the numerous tried his mother tried to help him learn. He remembered how her chubby hands grabbed the material as though it were dough. The thought brought a smile to Joseph's face. He looked at his shoes, stuffing both hands into his pockets now, and looking up through his green eyes. Despite the copper hair in his eyes, he didn't bother moving it. The conversation and their brief flirtacious movements awed Joseph. It was like some sort of art, or game, but something that Joseph never learned.
