Japanese Shiba Inu
smile I LOVE dogs. I have been a big dog lover since I was a little girl. Used to have a family dog called Sandy. He was a collie mix and though he was part of the family he was definetly my mums dog. He got hit by a car once and had a permanant limp from that. He also hated other dogs and he was a sneak. Wasn't allowed on the furniture but when my mum left to go to work he would sneak onto his favourite chair.
Today I have my beloved Sammy. She has some similar looks to Sandy but is completely different temperment wise. And she is definately MY dog!
Sammy is the most wonderful natured dog ever. I got her from Battersea. There must have been something special because she was the first dog we saw when me and my family went to the shelter. I was 15 then and was desperate for a dog of my own. She just lay at the back of the cage with her bed buddy and looked nervously out. Got her home and discovered what a joy she is.
Sammy is well behaved (most of the time) and loves human attention. She can't get enough. Sammy is a real friendly being. She gets on with other dogs, cats, guinea pigs, small pets, ducks, horses, sheep, in fact anything except possibly rabbits. But even with rabbits she isn't nasty, she just enjoys the game of chasing them. Sammy is part sighhound and as such has a msall chase drive as opposed to prey drive. She likes the chase part, not the kill.
I got bitten by a dog once, nothing bad but that never stopped me loving dogs. My love for them has simply grown and I can't imagine living for long without a furry canine companion. I would love to have Sammy forever and it hurts something rotten to know that isn't possible.
