...do you really care about the sex or not? I kind of do.. And that sucks since I've accidentally named two of my dragons names that should go with the opposite sex. Like, here I was trying to combine the parents' names into my stone dragon's name. I ended up with Queen Rock. Later I realized I could of used better ones such as Rock Queen, or Queen of Rock. Even later I remembered that my female dragon was farther down on my scroll. o.o
...lol. I just thought of something really terrible! Okay, so the site is called DRAGCAVE riiiight? Haha now I have a MALE dragon named Queen Rock. I'm not going in to further detail. [There are two things I'm thinking of how this is terrible... but still funny, at least I think so. x3]

Mushy-Mushy TigTig The only time I name mine before they get wings is if they're purple or pink xD Otherwise I wait so I can give them gender appropriate names ^^ I do, too, BUT, sometimes, if I want to name my dragon and the name can be female or male, I'll go ahead and name the dragon. And yes. Names are VERY important to me. Unnamed dragons are just bleh because it seems like they don't have any sort of personality or the that the owner has any personal attachment to the dragon.

I will wait until the dragons usually get their wings. Unless of course the dragon's are purple or pink.
Thats only if I'm going to name them names that are for specific gender's.
When I name them more random like names that are for either male or female. I'll name them before they get their names.
Like one Magi dragon I got. I named Say Cheeze.

I care alot for my dragon's names. I usually name them after they have fully matured. That way I'm positive they have a name for a male or a female. Though, I tend to give them names of both male and female. I love to give two names in one also. I did it before, but my friend took over that account ;0; I miss my dragons...

The way I choose my names can be considered a bit weird. I wait until I know the gender of my dragon and then look at the url to see the "code" or whatever for the specific dragon. I started doing this quite recently. And it's cool 'cause the names are quite special 3nodding
For example, the url when I view on of my dragons is dragcave.net/viewdragon/7u6t. I don't think you can use numbers, and the dragon was a male, so I made the code become the name: Zugt

Sometimes I don't care the gender of the name, or purposely give a female a male name. Also, if it's a bred dragon of mine, I give the last name of one of the parents, whichever one it takes after. (Guardian baby gets the Guardian parents last name, etc.)

I name mine carefully. Only time I made a mistake is when I named one of my frozen hatchlings by a male name, and it turned out to be female -this was before I knew that it would still grow wings and show its gender even if you froze it in the pre-wings stage. Fortunately you could still fog frozen hatchlings back then, so I kept her fogged for two months until she lost her name, then I re-named her.
One of my dragons' purple children (female, obviously) is called Jean-Luc Picard, and at least one other has a clearly female name while it's a male.

I name my dragons with a last name, that way I can have whatever name I want. I also really try to name them with single gender specific names, that way I know if they are male or female just by the name, but I named two females by male names by accident, so that really screws it up, but I only have 5 males, so that helps a little bit ( i have about 22 in all)
