~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Setting~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The year is 3045. Oak City is a successful, bustling city.
But, it is also a city filled with conflict. Ten years ago,
a man named Vandor forcibly took over the city,
overthrowing the reigning monarchy. Soon after war
broke out between the city and the Econians who live
just outside the city walls in the Deserted Wastelands. Eventually the attacks
slowed down, but another
problem emerged. The source of all power
in Oak City, Metalia,
began to disappear at a very rapid pace. Strangely, the
Metalia began to disappear around the same time the
attacks from the Econians slowed down. The whole
police force, known as the Korizions, are fully corrupted
with power from promises made to them by Vandor. The Korizions do
everything Vandor tells them to do to keep
him in power. Luckily, for the
citizens who are too afraid
to rebel, there is a large network of people known as the Underground who are working undercover to overthrow
Vandor and place the monarch back on the throne,
although the last known heir to the throne
disappeared the same day Vandor took over.
The Underground has been searchuing for this
heir and also trying to avoid capture by Vandor
and his drones because it would mean certain
execution. Also, Vandor has been experimenting
with the darker side of Metalia to see if using the
dark force of it could make better soldiers. Will you
take Vandor's side and continue
his evil reign or will you work with the Underground
and help restore peace to this ailing city?
This is the main part of the city. The business
area and such.This is the only place that has
continued to make progress under Vandor's rule.
User Image
This is the agricultural part of the city. It is a seperate part of the city.
User Image
These are the Slums of the city. This is
where the guards lurk the most, searching
for any Underground members to arrest.
User Image
This is the Palace where Vandor lives.
It's right in the middle of the city. It's
surrounded by guards inside and out.
No one's been able to figure out how
to get in without getting caught yet.
User Image
And here, is where the Underground
meets. It's in an old Asylum. Access
is limited. You may have to prove
yourself worthy.
User Image
This is what it looks like outside the
city walls, but be warned, not everyone
who has gone out there has come back.
User Image
This is the Water Station where
the city's water comes from. You need
a transportation module to get there.
User Image
And this is the mine where the city gets its Metalia.
It's very far off and you have to use a transportation
module to get there.
User Image
This is an Econian. Not very friendly
creatures, but theyre easy enough
to fend off. Although, the larger ones
can be be big trouble.
User Image
And this is what a Korizions guard
looks like when in full uniform.
User Image
And of course, there are weapons.
Here's a few of them. All of them can
easily stun or kill someone.
Enjoy your stay in Oak City and be careful!
There are many spies from both sides so
it's hard to know who to trust. Keep your
friends close, but your enemies closer.
Keruin stood before a door, with scorch marks surrounding its sides and the door that use to keep it blocked lying on the ground before him. Korizion Guards came in from both sides beyond the door and marched in, firing into the halls and screams of laser fire and slug throwers exploded in a melody of war. The Rebel Listening outpost was no match for Keruin's Forward Squad and soon many of them were either dead or injured. Those too cowardly hid behind doors, but no one escaped Keruin once he set his eyes on them or at least not yet. Two Guards came forth with the Rebel Post Leader, having him cuffed and secured for questioning. Commander Keruin spoke with a deep voice to match his stature and the Rebel couldn't keep from showing expressions of fear.
"Where are those transmissions you intercepted? What have you done with them?"
The Rebel Leader spoke, but was barely able to in the presence of such a man. He was able to get out some words once he realized what would happen to the others if he didn't say anything. With sweat dripping down his forehead, the Leader spoke.
"We intercepted no transmissions. This is a shipment post. We're on a diplomatic charity-"
Keruin grabbed him with his right gauntlet and lifted him by his neck, not putting enough pressure to choke him to death, but the Rebel did that himself by struggling.
"If this is a diplomatic shipment post, where is the shipments?"
The Rebel didn't answer and only proceeded to spit out what appeared to be curses at Keruin. The Guard Leader had enough of the foolishness and put full pressure on the Rebel's neck; this didn't break any bones, but it crushed his wind pipes, stopping oxygen from reaching the lungs. Then, Keruin tossed him into the wall. Keruin spoke to one of the guards that escorted the captive to Keruin and his anger was apparent.
"Commander, tear this building apart until you have found those transmissions, and bring me the others! I want them alive!"
The commander nodded towards his superior and called upon a few other Guards to follow him through the rest of the Listening Outpost, to search for the transmissions or Rebels that survived the assault.
This is Keruin, the Leader of the Korizion Guards and a man of principles. He would gladly give his life to end the Rebellion against Vandor. Keruin isn't in this fight for power or wealth, but to keep a promise he made so long ago to someone very dear to him. Long ago, Keruin use to be a citizen, not a guard. He use to work as a engineer and had a loving family of his wife and his newborn daughter. When the Rebellion began however, things became tragic. On the way to visit relatives in the City Slums and to also fix a power generator as assigned by the city, a fight broke out between the Rebels and the Korizion Guards. During the hail fire of Laser bolts and metal rounds, his wife was killed and he was mortally wounded. Keruin's wife was caught diretly in the middle of a Rebel trap, an explosive meant for the Guards. Pieces of her were everywhere and what made Keruin most angry as he sat there, bleeding from the loss of his hand and a portion of his skull; they kept fighting. Keruin was recovered by the Guards and put under medical care.
Days past and each day watching the news, fights continued, the Rebellion continued. Keruin already had to face his daughter growing up without a mother, but growing up in times of civil war? Unacceptable was his only thought. Using his engineering, he crafted himself the ideal works of machine so he could join the fight and put an end to the Rebel Scum. Knowing he could never raise a daughter with his new life style and put her in an Orphanage. She was to be told her parents died at the time of maturity. Keruin never saw her again after that and made a promise to himself, his wife, and his daughter:
I will avenge you my love and I will keep this world safe for you my daughter...
Since that day, Keruin has worked tirelessly against the Rebels in hopes of ending the civil war and returning peace, to fulfill his promise he made unknowingly not only to the deceased and his daughter, but to everyone that he wishes not to feel the grieve he feels every moment of his life of revenge and a promise.
(( eek Wow! Don't think I can beat that post, but I'll try.. LOL!))
Kana stood, watching her team intercept the transmissions, making a mental note to herself to infor the Underground of what was going on. Her baby bue hues stared at the others coldy as her heavy, boot-clad feet thumped with every step. She held her rifle in one hand and her shield in the other, ready to defend her team if necessary. She looked around the slums of the city that Vandor had been letting go to waste all thee years, feeling a slight amount of sympathy for them.
((Sorry so short. >_<))
((It's alright, I usually don't make that big of posts all the time anyway.))
"Sir, we can't find the transmitter interceptor. I think this might be a decoy."
Keruin wasn't very happy with this news, but it wasn't the Guards faults; the Rebels were getting better. They didn’t have the fire power of the Korizion Guards at full force, but deception was their primary skill to use and it worked quite well. Of course the Guards needed to become better too if they wanted to keep up with the Rebels.
"It can't be too far. Find any other signals emitted from the buildings nearby. I want them found commander; Lord Vandor isn't as forgiving as I ‘am."
The Guard Commander took a squad of guards and rushed out of the building to get to the scanners and try to track any other signals in the area. Failure wasn't an option for this mission.
"Those Rebels can't be allowed to read those transmissions or the plans would be ruined."
The transmission was the schematics for the creation of a personal shield generator. It was in its prototype stages and couldn't stabilize properly, so shots fired from inside of the shield also reflected, endangering its user if they were stupid. It also didn't reflect physical rounds, only energy such as from lasers. Keruin originally designed it to protect citizens, but Vandor had other plans of course.
((Oh. Lol.))
Kana gulped when she heard the leader yelling. She backed up a little into one of the dirty corners of the alleyway thney were
in, tripping over a box. The trip caused her fingerto accidently pull the trigger of her gun, setting it off and shooting at arailing of a fire escape above. Birds flew off in all diffrent directions, screeching loudly as she stumbled to get on her feet. Once on her feet she braced herself for the yelling and maybe even beating she would get for being so clumsy.
"What was that?"
Keruin marched off towards where he heard the sound; his steps made it obvious how much he himself weighed thanks to his custom set of armor. The armor was heavy due to the systems keeping him stable, since he wasn't in an actual condition to be walking around as a Korizion Guard without it. The claw was for his missing arm from the blast and the thick helmet for his missing pieces of skull. Beyond this metal exterior was a broken man, but on the surface, a monster. Vandor had this suit of Keruin's run of Dark Metalia, so Keruin's strength was quite amazing for a crippled man.
Keruin could feel a presence nearby in the alley way beside the Out Post, they were shots fired for sure. Keruin kept the other Guards away; he would deal with this himself. There was a girl with red hair, looking like she was ready to be blasted with a cannon or something.
"What the hell are you doing? You shouldn't be running around with a loaded weapon. Thanks to this, you're...Wait, what is your name? I think I've seen you..."
Keruin was thinking she was a guard, but also she might have something to do with the events of the Out Post, maybe a spy even or not, it was just a guess and she may have been just doing her duty in seeing what was wrong in this area. After all, Korizion Guards had a job on and off duty.
"You're one of us aren't you? That's where I've seen you...What are you doing here? My squads’ only private!"
Kana quickly stood up when she saw her fello guard standing there. She saluted, a banana peel landing on her head when she rose up her arm. Cheeks turning pink, she grabbed the banana peel and tossed it aside.
"There has been suspicious activity in this area. Vandor sent me to investigate, sir."
She picked up her gun and held it at her side, looking up at the large man with a bit of fear.
This soldier seemed nervous, but Keruin knew she was one of those early recruits, at quite a young age if he recalled. She was hiding something by being nervous or it was the fact Keruin was quite scary and usually it was the second reason.
"Well that's odd...You must be a new recruit to my squad of Guards then? I hate when he adds to my squad, why else would you be here?"
If she was sent by Vandor, then she must have been quite special to receive an order like that. Keruin was looking to replace Johnson since he was injured, but she seemed to be far too young to be part of an elite squad and Keruin was against having teenagers in a squad where death was a regular thing. Though, Keruin liked to review new recruits to see if they had the skill to be part of his squad first.
"Listen, I'm looking for a new recruit to replace one of my squad members and since Vandor sent you, I think you would do to replace him. What do you say private?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 29, 2008 12:55 pm
Kana looked at him for a moment, thinking it over. She was a bit nervous because the man was very tall compared to her own 5'2 stature. After a few moments of silence she replied,"I'd be honored, sir!" She tried to contain her excitement. She put her hand up again in a salute, waiting for the man to reply.
"Good, welcome to my squad. As your first assignment, I want you to track where these transmission s we are looking for went. We still have time; it will take them awhile to decrypt them since they're encrypted."
Keruin took out his pistol from his holster and held it up with his last hand, since the claw would wreck his gun. He planned to give this recruit her new weapon when they got back to base and her new uniform.
"I'll be coming with you, these Rebels managed to kill quite a few good soldiers today and I want some pay back."
Keruin checked his index and got news on the whereabouts; it was nearby like they thought it was. The Guards were getting a small energy signal from a nearby warehouse; it was small, but it was one of the few leads they had.
"We need to head to the warehouse across the street...What's your name private?"
