Food.
All things needed it to function and of all the things he didn't remember before moving in, that was at the top of the list.
Why was he an idiot? He didn't know.
Whatever the case, Tier was damn sure to fix that, now. One of those Shoppers stores, generic as anything they sell, was where he decided to go. It was close, quick and, above all, cheap. All he had to do was throw a hoody on and he was ready to go.
Moving boxes wasn't his favorite thing to do so at least he was able to stretch his legs and get out of the apartment, regardless of its novelty. Homes, to him, were a place to be secure but, generally, not a place to stay. He found himself out and about far more at his other locales then actually spending any time at home other then sleeping, washing and having an occasional meal.
Blue hair was easy to spot among the other natural colors, contrasted even more by his dark jacket choice. Black hoody, dark, torn up jeans and sneakers, basic deal meant for comfort rather then his usual past time. The squeaks of Tier's shoes against the polished tiles were muffled by the backs of his jeans and nearly drowned out entirely by shoddy wheels on baskets and clacking heels.
He had nabbed himself a shoulder basket and moved over towards the lunch meat. The list was small, just enough for the next few days while he unpacked, nothing big. Some sandwich stuff, soups, cereal, things like that.

"This list says I need to get more fabric softener as well as dish soap...? Ah, that word...did he get bumped while writing it, I cannot tell..."
Pasayo peered down at the list in her hand for a moment before she glanced back over the shelf, her eyes narrowing in heavy thought as she tried to translate Piero's unusually sloppy writing. She was sure it was so disorganized thanks to the fact that Rown had made a sudden visit to the home along with several new faces that she clearly had intentions of making permanent residents. Piero had sent her out to get several things for the new arrivals while Rown had been yelling at him that the 'house could provide' everything they needed, but with the permission to go out Pasayo had left as quickly as she could with delight in her breast.
So as she stood in the middle of one of the isle she for once only stood out based on her skin and hair color instead of the clothing she wore as well. Rown, having insisted on doing so, had dressed her that morning in more modern clothing that 'flattered' her figure (to say the least). She wore a tight lavender sweater over a white wife beater, the neckline of the sweater so large that it rested more over her shoulders than on them, and on her legs she wore a comfy pair of faded jeans that clung to her hips nicely.
Her long hair had been pulled up into a messy combination of a ponytail and a braid, several strands falling about her shoulders like tiny waterfalls.
"I cannot understand..."

A bit of ham, some balogna, the usual stuff was all acquired. And hey, what the hell, he even picked up some Lunchables, mostly for the Hawaiian Punch.
Dodging out of the food areas he passed by the toiletries isle and did a double take. Not having a list made things a little difficult sometimes, but at least he had some essentials in mind. Windex was pretty much on the top of that list, as well as a bar of soap, maybe some shampoo just in case the stuff he had sprung a leak or, well... did shampoo ever go bad?
Looking through the contents of his own basket, Tier's attention was only briefly off of it to momentarily just to be sure there wasn't anyone in front of him. There was another within the isle, a curvy young lady with hair as vibrant as his own, if not more-so, and skin as dark as... He did another double take. Black? Literally black skin? Tier had seen people as white as sheets before, he was nearing that himself, but black? All over, was that physically possible?
And then he realized he was just standing there staring at her neck, the most visible part of her skin that was facing him. "Hh," he let out a short huff and turned away, straight at some toilet paper.
...That might come in handy, too.

"Um...pardon me?"
Pasayo had looked up when she heard another person approach the aisle she was on and she was surprised to find it was a man with hair color she had never seen before on a human, and feeling that he might be able to help her out if she asked politely she dared to break the code of conduct where a woman speaks only when spoken to by opening her mouth to ask.
"If it is not too much trouble, do you think you could try deciphering this last word on this list for me? I am unable to do so and I was hoping the opinion of another may aide me with what I am looking for."
She had taken a few steps towards the man as she spoke though she stopped at a polite distance away, her eyes staring straight at him as she had learned that proper eye contact was important when speaking with another person. The way she was standing looked rather odd since she was not dressed in her Victorian wear, her hands folded in front of her bossom that would normally be compressed close to her body thanks to a bodice, and with her knees pressed together she looked more like a doll than a living being.

What a... strange and... oddly attractive lady.
Her current stance was putting a lot of emphasis on her chest that she seemed entirely unaware of, genuinely; not that fake, flirty unawares look a lot of women gave him when they were wearing similar clothes and had their arms up against their breasts and... Tier raised his gaze up to her face.
The marks... what was all this? Make up? Did she know Halloween was over thirteen days ago?
Oh that's ironic...
Work past it, you jack a**, work past it...
The way she had spoke was strange but it hadn't surprised him as much as her appearance. His initial repsonse to the question was stutters that made him sound like a bleeding imbecile but he was quick to correct himself.
"Deciphering?" Tier repeated the word as if it were foreign before nodding and taking a hesitant couple steps closer to see just what word she was talking about.
"Ah... yeh, that's a little difficult..." The twisted writing was definitely hard and he was used to the German chicken scratch his mother had always written. Tricky tricky... He attempted scanning the rest of the list for some sort of context clue but that was useless with groceries.

"Ah, thank you so very much!"
When the man came closer to her and clearly offered his help Pasayo smiled gently, her face lighting up as her eyes softened and her head titled to the side. She had not expected someone to be willing to help her right off the bat and she had been afraid she would have to return home to get a proper list, something she did not want to do, so when he started to speak it made her feel happier.
"My Master sent me out to get more items for the new arrivals at our house, mostly toiletries and other simple necessities since the house can provide the rest in terms of bedding and other items, but he was rather distracted by the Mistress and her sudden outbursts."
Pasayo hoped that explaining the situation would aide the man further in figuring out what she needed and perhaps even help make him think she was not as insane as she appeared to be. Honestly, how many people in a store would stop to ask a complete stranger for assistance?
"From the rest of the items on the list I came to think he wanted me to buy tissues or q-tips, but seeing as there are no words or letters even hinting close to those phrases I simply cannot tell. I could always walk home and get a new list, but that is something that I do not wish to do. Master hardly trusts me to go out alone as it is, and if I were to come back because I failed . . ."
She trailed off in her thoughts, moving her hand to her lips for a moment. Her sleeve rolled down her arm to reveal more markings on her dark skin - wrings around her wrist.

No, not many people would stop and ask strangers for anything at all. Most of that was reserved for flirting, that served for the majority of encounters, really, but this one seemed genuine, no subtext that he could see.
She just needed help.
All of that, however, coupled with everything else assaulting his sense at that moment, was making his brain fry. Her appearance, the olde style speech and now all of this "master" and "mistress" business... was she a maid? She had to be some foreigner or something... but no, her English was too spot on for that to be true. Pasayo's original intent in explaining only served to further confuse the blue-haired man.
"Maybe you should get those, just in case, then, but..." Tier chewed his lip in confusion. This person's writing, whether it was always like this or not, was atrocious. They'd need a whole deciphering team to work this out just for the single item, whatever it was. "Do... do you have a phone..? Or anythng?"
It was a long shot, with how she spoke, but what the hell, right?

"A phone? I am afraid I do not have one in my possession at the moment, I seem to have left it on the counter at home in my hurry to leave. Normally I would be carrying it with me but in all the confusion I must have forgotten it."
She moved her hand upwards the the seam of her sweater, right above her bosom, and was about to stick her fingers down her shirt when she stopped and a pale blush creeped over her skin. She had gotten so used to wearing Victorian clothing and storing items in different places on her outfits that when he wore something entirely different her body reacted before her brain could tell her otherwise.
She tried to play the action off by moving her hand to pat the pockets around her hips, the place where a phone would normally be, but she knew it was probably already too late and she had made a fool of herself.
"Ah, well, I think...you may be right about just purchasing things and then not worrying about them. Master is rather calm when it comes to things that are not related to the Mistress so I do not think he would be upset for me to return with items he did not request."

Well, at least she had one even if it wasn't doing her much good here. Maybe if she hadn't forgotten it there could have been a little exchange... No, mind on the current task!
The whole "Master" thing was still confusing him and weirding him out. She had to be a maid, she was talking like those stereotypical man servants for the rich people in all of those stories and shows. Her whole stance was off, too, with her limbs so close to herself and... where... was her hand going?
Tiers eyes followed it closely, up away from the sheet of paper to her torso and falling right... to where he was looking as she had first approached. It was becoming increasingly difficult to avert his gaze when her hand was right there as an excuse. It seemed she noticed, however, and quickly attempted to remedy the situation, and so did he. His gaze jumped straight back to her face and he offered a somewhat apologetic smile.
He wasn't sorry for looking so much as he was sorry if it had embarrassed her.
"Do you think maybe it was paper towels..?" she said something about "new arrivals", hadn't she? Those often lead to messes if they were the sort he was thinking of... children? "Or napkins... hmm.."
A sudden idea prompted Tier to begin walking off from her but he motioned with a hand for her to follow along in case that wasn't quite clear. A few steps lead the both of them to the cleaning chemicals area and similar things, like the Swiffers and Mr. Clean products. He could probably use some of these himself...

Pasayo was very unaware that Tier was staring at her chest, her mind not even registering that someone would do something like that, and for a moment she wondered if he was okay based on his actions and reactions to whatever she said or did. He did not seem to be upset to the point of stomping off (yet) and that made her feel a little relieved.
"We have plenty of those around the house but I think. . ."
Pasayo trailed off as Tier motioned for her to follow him, which she did, her lights steps barely making sound on the squeaky floor. She had been so used to walking in shoes that would make as much noise as humanly possibly that the way she walked now pretty much would classify her as a silent ninja. Amazing.
"Do you think there might be something over here? Or do you...ah, wait."
She got an idea, a rather decent one at that.
"Do you have a telephone I may use?"

Alright, so his initial ideas were no good but at least they were making progress, he thought. It was rather astounding to him that they had even gotten this far when every other thought of his was muddled and blocked by her chest.
Maids...
Oh jeez, did he have a maid fetish or something? That hadn't shown up before, how strange.
"A phone?" he repeated dumbly. He had asked the same thing earlier and now it was his turn to give the same answer, "No, I'm waiting for mine to get repaired..." Truthfully he had throw his out and canceled the service until he moved where he would by a new one, new plan, new number, everything.
That wasn't an explanation she needed to hear, however. "There's a pay phone right outside, though. I have some change, if you want to go call your... Master?" Saying that himself felt stranger then hearing it but what else was he to call this man?

"Ah, I see."
Pasayo looked down for a moment at the mention of the man before her not having a phone, though when he spoke of a pay phone and evening the willingness to lend her change to use it her expression once again perked up. The bright smile from before graced her lips yet another time and she politely curtsied her body to show her pure gratitude towards this stranger who was going out of his way to help her. For seemingly no reason at all.
"I am sorry to trouble you so much, you are too kind. It would be of the greatest help."
Pasayo drew closer to the man, almost standing directly next to him with only a finger or two in length separating their bodies, and for a moment it looked like she may have done something else before she suddenly frowned a bit. While knowing how to a use phone was all well and good, she had never used a public pay phone before. It could not have been much different from a regular telephone, only this one required money and a process to follow before a call could even be completed.
". . ."
She dared not say aloud that she had no knowledge of how to work such a simple contraption, though the look on her face of confusion and doubt probably spelled it out much easier.

Normally no one would go out of their way to help some one to this extent--no one that he knew, anyway. Of course there was the occasional altruist in the world but they were rare, especially these days. No, Tier was helping her not because he was unselfish but because she was cute, despite her strange coloring and marks.
He was still under the impression she had at least done the white herself, or maybe it was something like that full body tattoo deal. Hell, people had gotten body mods to turn themselves into lizards, just about, so he supposed this wasn't as strange as it could be.
"Don't worry about it. I wouldn't feel right just leaving you hanging," a half truth, as guilt would follow him but only for the rest of the night and he was only helping her in the first place because of--stop looking there.
Setting the basket down he fished through his pockets, first the hoody and then his jeans, for the change he had promised her. Two dollars worth of mix and matched coins, thankfully no pennies to speak of, worthless buggers. "Here," he held his fist out in front of her, awaiting her hands to accept it before letting the coins tumble out, "You know where it is, right? Do you want me to show you?"
Some might have said he was laying it on a little thick, others a little thin, but whatever the case was he was definitely loosening up about the not-flirting that was supposed to happen.
"I like your hair, by the way."
You dumb a**.

Pasayo held her hands out in front of her body, cupped together with palms up to accept the coins that the man would be depositing to her. She would have to find a way to repay his kindness in the best manner she could once this was all over - perhaps she could invite him home to eat with her and the rest of the family. Piero did not mind having company over (Rown and her crew being the exception) so maybe inviting this man would actually be a good idea.
"I...do believe I can find a way to use that phone, thank you. I may not have been allowed outside much but using a payphone should be no different than using a regular one, yes?"
She had seen people use payphones while watching the television after all, and if worse came to worse she was sure this gentleman before he would probably tell her what she needed to do without havign to be prompted. He just seemed to be so kind that she did not feel it unfair to make that assumption of his actions.
When he complimented her hair her cheeks burned brightly and she seemed to shrink inward out of timidness, her ears unused to hearing compliments from people she did not know. It felt nice to have someone praise her appearance, though she wondered if it only was about her hair because he could not think of anything kind to say over the color of her skin or the markings on her face.
"Thank you very much. I normally do not wear my hair like this nor dress like this so I feel a bit foolish and a bit...naked in a manner of speaking."

Wrong word, Pasayo, wrong word.
'Naked' just sprang forth all sorts of thoughts like if her entire body was that color, if she had those white markings on her face as well as her wrists, where else did she have them, and above all... was... was that hair color natural? He could have slapped himself for that one if he wouldn't have looked crazy for it, he who dyed his hair so regularly asking an absurd question like that about a popular hair color.
"Ah.. well, it's a little different. You've got to put the money in and then... well, honestly it's been forever since I've used one but they have instructions on it, so you'll be okay," Tier was half tempted to give her a reassuring tap to the shoulder but decided against it. That might be getting a little too friendly and he wasn't so sure she was even picking up on what he was doing in the first place.
If they don't notice, lay it on a little thicker, but that probably wasn't the best idea with this girl though he couldn't quite place why aside from the obvious...
Her skin and marks... he could think of a couple complementary words but they would all be double edged swords; if he said they were "interesting" there could be a "good" interesting and a "bad" interesting and, in his experience, if there was even a 0.000001% chance of the "bad" interpretation of a word even existing, highly sensitive women would jump to that one in an instant.
Tier hoped she was not this type of woman, for his and her own sanity. Living that high strung just couldn't be good for one's health.
Starting to walk down the isle, he grabbed a few of the toiletries along the shelves, sliding the into the basket. He was going to lead her to the front of the store and make sure she was alright before going off and finishing his shopping. Hopefully he would be quick and then he could make sure she had everything and then leave... or... exchange home numbers... and then leave...
You're so indecisive...
First he didn't plan on doing any flirting then he came here and is staring at tits and flirting out the a**. Oh life, how you destroy plans!
