Finally, this years marching seasons' over! Now I can put away my Bass drum in peace, with no more blisters on my hands or feet for practically a whole year!!!!
Don't get me wrong. I love Band, it's just the rehearsals are really irritating when you have it twice every week, with Percussion ensemble practe to follow it, making practice end at 8:00.

I only wish, we still have 3 more games, thankfully we aren't going to the Tech game over Thanksgiving. We STILL have one more show to learn (with dancing, some one needs to tell the directors that band geeks cannot snap, step and clap together, it doesn't work.)

We still have football games. It will suck not going to the high school every day, because one of my best friends is a freshman and I'm only in 8th grade... So I won't see her for a while after marching season.

Our post-season concert's tonight. We basically play all our songs in the gym and march about half of them. Talk about dangerous...you really have to be a defensive marcher in such a small space. xp

GreenePony I only wish, we still have 3 more games, thankfully we aren't going to the Tech game over Thanksgiving. We STILL have one more show to learn (with dancing, some one needs to tell the directors that band geeks cannot snap, step and clap together, it doesn't work.) That sounds like us! They tried to teach us how to salsa, and we're not bad with that, but then they told us to make something up for the rest of the dance, and we're really, really bad at that. We just kind of pretend like we know how to dance and look really lame. I much prefer when they teach us the specific steps, like our salsa. We're good at following steps.

My season and high school marching band career for that matter is officially done today. Went to the Cavalcade of Bands Championship and got 2nd place with a 91.7!! go us! It ended amazingly. I know I'm going to miss it, but I'm gonna have more time to myself and for other things now. And I have college band to look forward to! xd

We still have a few football games to play before we're done since our team made it to the playoffs. But if you think your rehearsals are murder OC, we have 4 rehearsals a week normally, 3 mornings from 6:30 to 7:30 and one night from 6:30 to 9:00. Plus, some weeks we have additional rehearsals and memorization tests after school. But its almost over. ^^

Our season ended at 6:55 last night after we played state. Went home with 4 straight excellents(The rating here) and *5 festivals. Not bad, but not the best. The audience and other bands thought we should have doen better...
*Our first festival was extremely early in the season. We were the only band with hal our show done. They scroed us, but didn't rate us. We were also stuck on the field marching in the heat for half an hour afterwords. 3 people almost passed out that day.
And with that, I go back to bed. Probably not, but I really should. 3 hour bus ride from state at 8:00 last night. Didn't get home unil 10:45...
