I, for one, love to knit and crochet
granted, I am pretty bad at following instructions (fortunately I have friends that are good at this) but I have been steadily improving!

Recently I was searching Google for some fun patterns and what-not that I would like to give a try, and came across some really nice patterns to enhance your steampunky wardrobe !

So,if there are any of you interested, heres the list:

X
This is where the yarn cog at the top of this post came from. Easy and fun, you should give it a try! Also, look around the rest of this page.... lots of other excellent vintage patterns!

X
Another good page to look around for more goodies!

aviator hat
Striped nickers
Leg warmers
Mens tie
Fingerless gloves
more fingerless gloves
ladies belted vest

and a sewing pattern that was too good not to share:
fishtail skirt

enjoy!
and feel free to post more patterns!

You and your knitting, and lack of crochet patterns.
Such a problem, such a problem, so to fix it I propose list of possibly helpful crochet patterns.

*Please note I haven't actually had the time to test the vast majority of these

Mini Top Hat
Cascade Scarf
Fingerless Gloves with Cable Stitch
Elliot Vest
DROP Jacket
DROP Waistcoat
Shirt
Tunic (though admittedly, the sleeves on this look a bit strange to me)
Tunic, Second Version
Skirt Cover
Spiderweb Skirt

Although I pretty much fail at knitting and crocheting, my mother does not.
And recently joined this knitting forum called Ravelry. o3o
Perhaps one can discover Steamtastic patterns there. ^^;

I actually run a business where I get to knit and crochet all day!

Knitting steampunk is not a leap I have made as of yet, but I think I should. Some of the stuff I see is too cute to pass-up creating my own designs!

I have made several clocks and revamped a couple watches. I have a BIG thing for clocks. And I am currently in the planning stages of a Victorian outfit for Dickens Faire which is coming up in February.

I'm very tempted to try and make myself gloves..so I'll get on that, and take pictures if they end up half decent ^^

*sigh*
I wish I could crochet.
I love knitting, I just finished making myself a pair of arm-warmers...
But the problem with knitting is you can't do that lacey look very well.

I'm making this post on behalf of my sister, who is an avid knitter and crocheter.

She says the following

Quote:
I did a quick search for a top hat pattern on Ravelry, and I found a fantastic felted mini-top hat. It's a pattern that you're required to pay for, but if anyone is interested (and lets face it, you're all interested) I can post some pictures and may be convinced to share the pattern. I know the plight of the pattern seller, but this is a pattern that is too fantastic for all us steampunkers not to know about.

If you're interested, PM Supertheory, or Dr Phineas Snow with an email address (it's a PDF pattern). If you're worried about giving out your email address let me know and I'll transcribe the pattern for you

Also, I'm supposed to tell someone to "add her to the guild"
