Planning and Suggestions :: Voice Your Opinions!
Ever had a great idea for a Collective or didn't like the way one was going but kept quiet anyway?
Well, that time is over, because you now have a special thread dedicated just to you!
Voice your opinions and let us know what we can do better.
Do you think we should make a cat-themed Collective? Tell us about it!
We want to know what you think about what we're doing and how we're doing it.
This is also your chance to hop in and help us plan upcoming Collectives.
If there's something you'd like to see for next year's Halloween Collective, help us plan for it.
These events are run by you, so if there's something you want to change, then help us change it.
Please post your ideas and opinions for the Collectives here.
There's no guarantee that they'll be put into action, but you'll never know until you try, right?
Note: This thread is NOT for suggestions on specific artwork, but rather the Collective events.
Also, please be kind to each other. ^^
Even if you don't like someone's idea, be nice to them.

For our first guild event, I was thinking that we could have a trick-or-treating sort of event,
much like the Mini-Shops version that I heard about (at least, that's the plan xD; ).
Each artist would make a few small Halloween-related items to give away for free,
perhaps along with some special items for sale that didn't get into the Collective shop.
(If you didn't get everything ready for the deadline this year,
this would be your chance to sell that stuff that you didn't submit in time. :3 )
Then, people would be able to go from shop to shop and pick up these freebies and/or exchange them. ^^
Each artist would preferably have their own little thread,
but there could be a single thread dedicated to keeping track of freebies and exchanges if need be.
There might be prizes given out to the person who gives the most "treats" or the person who collects the most. >D
Random prizes could also be given out to people with awesome costumes or signatures/post styles.
So what do you guys think about this?
Do you have anything to suggest?

I like the idea of going through the shops and trick or treating X3
I should definitely add my shop to the other thread now >_>
there were a few things I just didn't work on for the collective that I could make for freebies.

I was thinking for a grand opening event we could do is an art contest // design the front page of the guild contest.
The art contest would be were any type of artists would draw/pixel Holiday Jubilee, Celebration Jubilee and Ani. The other choice would to be to add crew members of the guild. We could have a vareity of prizes.
The design the front page of the guild contest would be were you could make images, decorate the text anything you want that you think should be the front page of this guild. We would have a seperate sub-forum for contests which you would make your test and post your entry. Once you've finished your entry you would pm _____ so they will lock your thread. Prizes will vary.

Actually, that sounds like a good idea, too. I like it.
I'm thinking maybe each person, when they have art for the certain topic, they can open their own thread to show off stuff they want to sell, so it's like their own little mini shop in here. That sound good or would that be too much?

Lemons - Ooh, I like that idea, too. whee
Although, rather than make a sub-forum for it (those are actually fairly expensive, you know xD;; ), perhaps we could just make an announcement/sticky where people could post their entries (and test them, of course).
And they don't need to draw me. n.n;; That is, unless it's part of the crew members one. xP
Xalia - I was kind of thinking the same thing, actually. :3 That would make certain events, like the trick-or-treating one for instance, a bit easier to host, I think.

I just wasn't sure if that'd be a good idea or not because then there really wouldn't be a need for the shop helpers, really, because you wouldn't want to have to go from thread to thread checking for orders. They gold might just go the thread owner for the art to be sent, too.

Oh, I didn't mean that the mini-shops here would basically become the Collective shop. ^^;; The Collective shops will always remain outside the guild (otherwise, we would loose our "community event" status).
The shops that artists could make in here would be for non-Collective artwork, more like extensions of their own shops. :3

@Ani-I think the trick or treating is an awesome idea! I wonder if it's too late to put that in action before Halloween? As long as it would be a "Halloween" event maybe enough people would be interested in doing it on a short notice. <3
@Lemons-The guild desing is a great guild opening event! I second it <3
Another great way to bring new ppl into the guild and make them active would be to host item giveaways, avatar & art contests, etc...
I was also thinking on the subject of raising gold for guild events that we could raffle off super-awesome-extra-special artwork from a featured artist. It could be like a one-time special art/etc thingy that would never be sold again, like a rare or something. (Sorry I know there's alot of vague) xd ) It could be done per Holiday Collective or it could be a guild event done more frequently. Though if it was a guild event we'd want an open Collective thread to link to the guild n.n
Or expanding on the extension of the shops idea, people could opt to give a percentage of their earnings to be dedicated directly to guild funds for such stuffs.

I hadn't thought about trying to raise funds for the guild, but I suppose it would be a good thing to do. After all, my little pile of gold won't last forever. xD;

i liek angel's first suggestion -cuz i'm one of those 'late' artists who came up with more stuff to add after deadline sweatdrop

uhm- i think it's hard to do those kinds of one-time-super-special stuff, as i tend to get a little stuck in things i like and so i'd prolly keep selling things like it even after the raffle's over redface (on another note; i don't know what a raffle is really either _:'D )
as for the front page piccie of this guild -it'd be kinda fun with a contest, or mabbe if you changed it every now and then so all artists could show off their work at the front?
as for the little 80 x 200 banner (i think it's that size..) -i could paste together item-piccies here from gaia :3!
liek.. -little presents, easterbags, jak bags, so on -so on O3o?

Oh, a raffle is just where you offer a certain number of slots/tickets for like 10g each, and you have a really cool thing like an item everyone wants or some really cool art. Then you pick a random nu,ber and that person wins the prize; it's just another event to bring new people in. heart
I can see where the art thing would be hard. We could always do an item, but it would have to be donated and alas, how would we raise money for it? xd
I like the design changing thing!

hum... -how about taking 1% of the profits from the collect O3o?
if we manage to sell to 1 mil (...probable?) -then we'd have ....-whatsit -10K to git a prize for? (failing math _:'D )
hum.. 49 ppl -say with the mule it'll be 50 ppl and split it evenly between.. -nope, i'm lost again -thats it- i'm quitting math -._-.'~*
