It was a very old abandoned building, hunkered down in the middle of the forest at the end of a faint trail. It was covered in chunky, hand-made shingles of ancient wood and roofed with old and broken tiles. It was extremely tiny, only big enough for perhaps a chair and a desk inside with a little space for movement left over. It sat upon a solid brick foundation that had been veneered in concrete. A hinged screendoor hung crookedly over a rough plank door that sort of remind Tal of a ship's door, but perhaps that was just her imagination. The shack also had two windows, one on each side wall, made cloudy by years of dust and grime. The trees had grown in close to the shack and branches hung over it as a natural second roof. Vines crept up the sides of the shack, and bushes grew near it. It might have yielded one secret to the intrepid adventurers, but who knew what further mysteries it contained?

Blue, Eros, and Indy walked off the trail and into the small clearing. She looked at the Shack and smiled lightly. This was the last place they ended up while on the adventure last time. "We're here." She said turning to look at everyone else, "Let's see the clue this time is: Laughter moving you will hear/ Look not far, for it is near/ Take a breath, hold back your fear. So whatever this riddle is talking about it's nearby."

Corny, following carefully, gapped at the rundown shack. "That's so neat! And yet... kinda creepy." She muttered. She didn't do so well with creepy... Then she scratched her head. "What on earth does that mean?" Azure nosed at her owner encouragingly. She thought it looked neat too. So many new sights and smells here! Kellan fluttered down from the sky, landing on the shack roof. It creaked once, then settled and he ruffled his feathers warmly, not really paying attention to the others or the riddle.

Stalker nodded, watching where she placed her feet. "Moving laughter, huh?" She pondered, "Well, I got nothin. Sounds creepy enough, though. So where do we look first?" Being in the house with a bunch of wolves must have rubbed off on her; she tilted her head slightly, eyeing the shack.
Paine wagged her tail when Stalker finally arrived and rushed to lick her, jumping over tree roots and various other stuff, "I like this place." She said simply, accepting a head-scratch. She looked at the blue wolf with Corny, "Hi, I'm Paine." She smiled, "Looks like a mystery, doesn't it?" The smile grew to a grin.

Hitachi floated out of the bushes, his black wings flapping silently behind him and his hands buried into the pockets of his poncho. He looked at the old shack like the others were doing, assumed that they had finally arrived and settled down on the ground beside Corny. He listened to Blue as she recited the riddle and after she was finished, he ran her words over and over in his mind and trying to see if any of it made sense. Whatever it was they were looking for was obviously close but how close? "Ow, me 'ead is killin' me." He said to the others as he flapped his wings and began to hover again. "Laughter moving? It don't make sense Gov'nah."

Blue shrugged and scratched her head. "I have an idea of what it might mean but why don't you guys mull it over and try and get an idea." She said, "While you're thinking you can search the area around here. Maybe you'll stumble across the answer." She looked down at Eros before going to sit near a tree. She wasn't going to do much until the others got an idea.
Eros looked around before looking off into the woods. He remembered last time they were here and those two moonlits of Wolfie's ran off only to come back with a clue. Or at least it seemed to be a clue.
Indy shook his head at Blue before wandering off to explore. He had never been in this part of the woods so he should make use of this chance to explore it. He looked at the other Anthro and sighed. "Well what kinds of things in nature could sound like laughter and moves?"

Stalker exchanged a glance with Paine, sparking from one of the few beliefs that they had in common. "The trees...sometimes, when the wind blows, they move. And I guess that sounds a little like laughter..." She pursed her lips; that made no sense. "Not really" She rolled her eyes at herself, "But creatures laugh. That's the only thing I think it might be." She stretched. "Right?" She gave Blue a questioning glance and stared up into the trees, straining her ears to hear anything. When that didn't work she set to searching and nearly fell into a small dip next to the corner of the shack. She caught herself and moved some dry leaves from the surface, looking into the could-be-fatal dent in the earth.
While waiting for a reply, Paine caught Indy's sentance and nodded at Stalker, "Yeah. Only creatures, I would think." She confirmed after a brief moment of thought.

Looking at Indy, Hitachi pondered over what the other anthro said to him. "The river; it can sound like laughter sometimes eh?" He looked around and shrugged. "Be we aren't near the river are we?" He began to wonder off towards the creepy shack and attempted to wipe away the dust and grime coated on one of the windows so he could peer inside. He was curious after all as to what could be inside the small shack and sighed as he could only work away a thin layer. It was enough for now and he attempted to peer through the cloudy window. All the while, he was mumbling the rhyme to himself so he wouldn't forget and flicked his tail at what Stalker had come up with. It certainly made sense. "If it be a creature like you say, if I was 'im I'd be afraid right now wit all these blokes snoopin around." He shook his head as he continued to rub the window again. "If it be a creature, I sure hope it's got manners."

Corny shook her head. "Like Hitachi said, water is the only thing I can think of. But I'm pretty sure there's no river. It could just be a brook or creek." She groaned. "Unless it's an underground river." She stuck out her tongue. "'Hold back your fear'... Maybe it means we have to go somewhere else, like a cave, to get to it." Giving Azure a pat on the head, she spotted a pile of rocks next to the shack. She frowned slightly. That was an awfully organized pile of rocks, and why was it there? She usually wasn't good at "sluething," but figured it couldn't hurt to look. She walked over and started pulling the rocks away one at a time. Azure smiled at Paine and woofed a greeting. "My name is Azure." She said softly. She nuzzled Corny's hand, showing her agreement with the water. Then she barked once and pointed her nose toward Kellan. "Birds can laugh too. And they move a lot." Kellan looked at Azure and nodded, repeating outloud what Azure had said for the humans to hear. It was an idea at least. Looking down from his perch, he was able to see everyone.

Stalker looked in the dent she had nearly tripped over and found....... some dirt. Looks like nothing of use was hidden here.
Hitachi's window yielded no answers as to what was in the shack. It was still too cloudy to see anything.
Moving the rocks from the pile showed Corny an interesting feather. Perhaps it was a clue!
Blue listened to everyone's suggestions. It seemed they were all hooked on it being an animal.... even a bird. "Well good ideas you guys..... But I doubt it's an animal. The previous group that was here with Tal and Wolfie and me thought it might be a home for the Duos or something but Tal didn't think so. A couple of us got the idea that it might be a river or brook or creek. It's what I thought. I mean a babbling brook can sound like it's laughing." She explained, "Why don't we see if there's anything like that around here?" With that she stood up and brushed off her pants. She looked at Corny with her head tilted. "What? Did you find something Corny?"Indy nodded at Hitachi. "Well we don't know what's around here. The map doesn't say and no one here has explored around here." He said, "So there may be a river or creek here."Eros nodded. "Yeah the last time we were hear some of Wolfie's moonlits ran off and came back with wet paws. So there must be some water around here." He said to everyone, "Why don't we go look in the woods around the shack?" He walked over to the trees that he thought the moonlits he had mention had gone by.

Corny nodded as she continued moving rocks. "Yeah, water is our best bet then." Happy that she had thought of water as well, she paused in her movements at a flash of color in the rocks. What was that? She moved one more. "Huh." She plucked up the feather and gave Blue a shrug. "I don't know... Did I?" She was suprised she had actually found anything. Would this feather even be useful? She headed back to the others, carrying the feather firmly but carefully, to show it to them. Azure tilted her head. What was that? She chuffed softly with a smirk as if to say 'See? Like I said. Birds.'

Coming up empty with searching the window of the shack, Hitachi flapped his wings and hovered in the air away from the shack and turned to face the others. He was slightly surprised that his first assumption about a river had been right and he smirked. "Are we going for a little swim then?" He asked playfully, wagging his tail as he listened to Eros and Indy's explanations as to what happened last time and his tail wagging increased. He listened intently as he walked towards the edge of the trees for any sound of rushing water. "That's a pretty feather." He said to Corny before throwing himself back into listening for water.

Paine looked up and smiled at everyone; it was good to know that her beliefs weren't all that silly after all. "Wet paws? Yeah, I'll bet there is!" She wagged her tail as she listened to everyone, flashing a grin at Azure's chuff. She got up, then, and padded around the tree-line, staying in sight enough that she wouldn't get lost, putting her nose to the ground. "Say..." She stopped at pawed the air near Hitachi, "You can fly, can't cha? Why don't you just get a birds'-eye view to see if there is a stream or something like that." She sat back on her haunches. "I'll sniff around; the scent's real distinct!" She replied and set her muzzle to the forest floor again, searching for the smell.
Stalker sighed; not that she had really expected to find anything anyway. She bounced back to the others, tilting her head once more when she saw what Corny had. "It's colorful!" She grinned, flicking her eyes occasionally to Paine, making sure that she was safe.

While sniffing the ground Paine ended up messing up some leaves but nothing else happened. She didn't find anything or catch the scent.
Blue looked at the feather that Corny was holding. "Oooo pretty! I wonder what type of bird it came from." She said following after Eros, "Why don't we follow Eros and look around?" She looked back at everyone else with a smile.
Indy watched Hitachi for a minute before nodding. "We could end up going for a little swim." He said looking over at Corny and her feather, "I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a bird with a feather like that." He followed after Eros as well and kept his ears open for the sound of a river.
Eros led the others into the woods again sniffing every now and then. Perhaps the river would be nearby.... hopefully.

Hitachi nodded to Blue and obeyed her suggestion. With a quick sniff of the air, he followed silently behind Eros and Indy and could only hope that this wouldn't get everyone completely lost in the middle of nowhere. Shaking his head at that, he continued on; his ears on full alert for the sound of water and peering around random trees every now and then to catch the sound of what they were searching for.
