My girlfriend's dad recently tried (but failed) killing himself, and she has informed me that she's been having thoughts of taking her life too. I think I've talked her out of it, but I'm really not sure. Discussion on suicide and how it affects spiritual life?

What if someone attempts suicide but fails? Will God still accept them if they repent later?

What if someone kills him/herself because of desire to go to the Promised Land and meet God?

Oh, and

romans 8:1

1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

So, yes, God will still accept them if they fail at suicide, and, if they were already saved, they'd still go to Heaven even if they killed themselves, I think.

Um, not sure about the last one. I don't think it would stop them being forgiven, but it's still a stupid thing to do. Jesus gave His life for us, so we should be at least willing to live ours for Him.

I think that suicide is like murdering yourself. Murder is a sin. No sin is greater then any other. God forgives all sins. Therefore, suicide is forgiven if you believe in Christ as your Lord and Savior.

And, yeah, suicide is confusing. It's very hard if there's someone who talks about suicide all the time.
