Okay, I don't think that this is a very welcomed board topic, so I will completely change the topic if it turns out that people don't want this here...or else I guess just no one could post but if they had something to say they could PM me or something...I dunno...well, here it goes... Is suicide a sin? Like, would you go to hell, even if you are a true Christian, if you take your life?

I'm not real sure, but here is how I look at it.
God put you here for a reason, you have a purpose. After you have completed all that it is you are supposed to do and have lived your life accordingly (or maybe not so accordingly), then God will call you home when it is time.
Murder is a sin, is suicide not murdering yourself? If you kill yourself how do you ask forgiveness?

I guess that's a really good point...but isn't denying the LORD the only unforgivable sin? I mean, I know God doesn't like suicide, of course, but would He really condemn a Christian to an eternity in Hell for it??

Honestly, I have heard this question before, and sadly, I do not know the answer.

it has been said, numerous times, that suicide is considered a sin, as it is, as Jewlz pointed out, murdering oneself. and of course, murder is a sin.
as Jewlz also said, you're here for a reason. suicide is not really a choice of yours. it's God's choice when you come and go; you are not one to choose your leaving time.
As for being denied entrance to Heaven, i'm sure i don't know. it's hard to say. Likely not; if you are a true Christian, but...i can't honestly answer...
Unfortunately i happen to have a friend who is somewhat suicidal. ironically, it kills me. inside. help me pray for her/them?

The way I see it, the longer we're here, the longer we have to glorify God and show people his light. We should not fear death, as it will only bring us closer to God, but if we go before we're supposed to, we might miss the opportunity to change someone's life. Plus, our family and friends will be left to share the anguish of why we felt the need to end our lives. That's not fair to anyone. Killing yourself is not an act of love towards others, it is an act of selfishness, which is also not what God wants us to be doing.

Its killing me to type this. Im crying as I type it...
If you accept Jesus in your heart than yu go to heaven. the Bible says that we are in his hands and nothing will make him forsake us. Not even sin. Sin is sin and he forgives all. There is no reason why he wouldnt forgive us of this.
Heaven

God loves the sinner NOT the sin. No matter what you do he condemns your sinful actions not you, correct me if I'm wrong though anyone.

Thank you Saint for putting the truth here. The bible says some where, sorry I don't know the reference, that when we accept Jesus into our lives he forgives us of all our sins: past, present, and future. is a sin, but God will not deny or contridict himself in any way shape or form. He said in the bible, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised him from the , you WILL be saved." He does not say you will be saved under these circumstances, or as long as you do this and not that. Therefore God will not contridict himself in that verse by saying, "You were a christian untill you killed yourself."
In my personal oppinion, God will never take your name out of "The Lambs Book of Life". He is all-powerful and everything, but that would make him a liar and if God were a liar then the whole bible would be wrong. "For it is by GRACE you have been saved. NOT OF WORKS..." Therefore doing the wrong thing can not unsave you because of grace (grace is getting what you don't deserve).
To answer your question, YES SHE IS IN HEAVEN!!!! If you have any more questions on this subiect or any other topic let me know and I'll answer it to the best of my ability through God. Just remember John 3:16, "For God so loved YOU..." He would not let you die and go to hell if you are a christian.

Not realy. My youth minister in El Paso taught us deep from the start to help us understand stuuf better and to let us be able to aply it to our lives in a more common day type of way. That's where I get it from.

I thought it was "For God so loved THE WORLD..."
Even though God will still love you in spite of your sins, that doesn't mean that you can go sin any time you dang well please. We should set the example for others by keeping sin out of our lives as much as possible.

[L.O.S.E.R.], the answers are yes and yes. It does say "For God so loved the world...", but that is impersonable. I prefer saying you because it draws people in more hearing that God loves them in preticular. God also wnats us the strive to be holy (set apart for a purpose), "Be holy for I am holy.", but God will forgive us of our sin. This doesn't give us a right to say, "I'm a christian and am going to heaven so I can now party and not give a **** about what I do." God wants us to be holy.
I want to give you a question though. I know how to answer this question, and I want you to think on it for a bit and seek consle on the question to get the best answer you possibly can. The question is, "Is holieness equal to this analogy, Darkness is no light and so holieness is no sin?"
The answer is harder than it seems. PM me an answer and I'll tell you if you are right or wrong and give you the answer. I also want complet reasoning about it. Not just "It is right/wrong." I want to know why it is right or wrong.
