Niagara Falls is a Canadian city of 82,184 residents on the Niagara River in the Golden Horseshoe region of south-central Ontario. It lies across the river from Niagara Falls, New York, and was incorporated on June 12, 1903.
The city is dominated by Niagara Falls, a world famous set of two large waterfalls on the Niagara River and benefits from the fact, that both falls, the American and Horseshoe, can be best seen from the Canadian side of the river, thus presenting the city one of the major tourist attractions of the world. The natural spectacle brings in millions of tourists yearly. The city permitted the development of a tourist area along the falls and the gorge. This area which stretches along the Niagara River parkway and tourist promenade is particularly concentrated at the brink of the falls and, apart from the natural attractions along the river, includes huge parking lots, souvenir shops, observation towers, high-rise-hotels, casinos and theatres, mostly with colourful neon billboards and advertisements. Further to the north or south there are golf courses alongside historic sites from the War of 1812.
It's one of those unfortunate 'luck of the draw' things I'm afraid to say, because the majority of the Falls are in the United States. This would be fine except that to see it you have to be on the Canadian side. That's why Niagara Falls lands on Canada's Top-Ten list. To get to the other side there is a pedestrian bridge that links Canada with the United States without the inconvenience of border patrols, yeah! I suppose they don't think that someone would smuggle something illigal in by foot, although anythings possible.
This tourist town is great for sightseeing and if you happen to be in Toronto, Niagara Falls is not far. Niagara Falls is also a popular place to get married, competing with Vegas for wedding vacations. Niagara Falls was also rated as the Worlds Most Romantic Place.

*flips out and dies* I went there! Last year, on my summer vacation. It was amazingly beautiful. Oh, and one of the for me highlights was watching a dead fish go over the falls as well as walking in on some random people's wedding.

I've got one! It's called the Niagara Falls Whirlpool Jetboat Ride. It's quite a drive to the boat, though. There are two rides you can take. One is the covered boat, and it starts closer to the falls. The second is uncovered. It's a longer drive, but you can get soaked. The boats are built as the same way as the Titanic (well, a more stable version). The uncovered ride is an hour long, and people sitting in the front row must be 12 years of age and weigh 100 lbs MINIMUM! The boats go up to to the Niagara Whirlpool, but don't actually go in it due to legal reasons. Starting Wednesday April 23rd in Niagara on the Lake until October 19th 2008. Advanced payment and reservation is required, and Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
I went on that, and damn was it fun! And don't think you can sit in the back of the uncovered boat and not get wet. It's designed to get you wet.

I've always wanted to visit Niagara Falls. After college, I'll be traveling anywhere I choose. This place will definitely be somewhere on my list.

Niagra falls looks AMAZING from the canadian side, especially during new years, they light it up and shoot fireworks over the falls. It's great.

Aha, it only takes a few hours to get to Niagara Falls from where I live~
Hey, did you know that one winter the locals woke up to total silence? The Falls had frozen!
