Thunder sounded over head and tiny raindrops that could barely be felt fell to the ground, coating the world with dew. A storm was coming, and lighting flashed, a bright light across the grey sky, and it seemed that the storm itself was over his head. Was it possible for a storm to follow something, because Alik did not find it funny if it could actually happen. Golden eyes closed in irritation and all that had to be said was that Alik was not amused.
The spot he was in, a meadow that on any other day would be perfect for taking naps in, was about to get rained down upon. There was probably going to be a mini flood as well. The worst part of it was that he had just gotten comfortable to as well! How horrible is that. He had made a sort of nest if you will, his body fit perfectly where it was, and now he had to move. Of course, he could just let the rain hit him and he could let himself freeze and get sick, but was he really that lazy?
Yes, yes he was. His comfort was a main priority, his health a close second, but not nearly as important as his sleep that could only happen if he was comfortable. This would have to be thought about before he could make the actual decision. The storm was getting closer every second he thought of his dilemma and what he should do. In the end, a mere minute later after another bout of lightning happened, he decided that finding cover was to be the best course of action.
Sighing, he shifted his body and ungracefully got onto his legs, steadying seconds later. Finding the green leaves of trees shaking in the horrid wind, he made his way towards the edge that was lined with bushes and bark.

The storm was a blessing in these hot days as the little mare born of sea and sky made her way out on stronger legs than she had been born with. As the wind whipped through her hair she was reminded of something she barely knew and yet listened proudly to a song. One that whispered the grace and movement of the mother sea herself. Playfully she let each droplet soak into her coat as her mind wavered off towards the outstretched memories of the sea. True she'd never witnessed the feel of sand beneath her feet, nor the salty breath that hung in your nostrils. But she knew it so strongly from her father's words that Kasumi knew she was part of it.
Picking up speed the young mare tossed her head as the rain began to fall feeling herself gain invisible wings. She reveled in the feeling of speeding through the droplets as they pinged off her back one right after another. She was water herself as they coaxed her to play and frolic with them. Long curled tresses flew backwards in deep blues as she made her way over the slowly soaking ground.
As she moved freely she caught sight of a stallion simply meandering along not caring that the rain would soak him to the bone. It seemed quite odd to her he wasn't enjoying the wonderful essence as it fell so openly around them. Kasumi had never meet anyone outside her family which was a new experience for her. He seemed so different and... careless? No no that wasn't it. More like lethargic and lazy was the first thing that came to mind. But really how could anyone simply ignore such a wondrous thing she wondered.
Taking her mind off the joyous rain she galloped over toward him with bright eyes though not annoying nor childish. She simply wanted to know who could ignore such a gift as what she was composed of. As the lightning crashed overhead her brightened eyes finally took in this new presence. She was used to brightness of the sky and the liveliness of the sea but the other was more natural colored as a rock or tree. Headed toward him now in a slower stride she paused at a complete stop not too far from him. Kasumi would let the other speak first so she could gain his personality and get a grip on who she'd be intercepting.

Thunder boomed once again and Alik could have sworn that it shook the ground. Was it possible for tornadoes to happen in this area? Maybe a tidal wave? He sighed and turned to look at the sea to see if a large wave had appeared but in shock he saw that a mare was near him. How did she get so close to him so quickly? Ah, she must have done it while the thunder sounded and he was trying to find cover.
She was just as soaked as him but did not seem to mind. Her hair was curly and sagging from the weight of the water. If she ran out to see he knew his eyes would lose her, as she was almost the exact same color of the blue, and right now crashing and angry, waters. Spirals covered her legs and back and reminded him somewhat of his sister’s markings.
“Hello? What are you doing out here?” He called, his lazy tone carrying over to her through the wind. She looked quite content being out here, and while that was nice for her; he had still not quite made it to the tree line and water kept pouring down on him. His hair felt heavy, and his bangs were sopping wet and getting into his eyes. He blinked his eyes to get excess water out of them, and he shook his head, trying to get all water out of his mane. Of course that didn’t work because seconds later water had once again taken its place in his hair, and his head bowed as he glared at nothing.

Her eyes as deep as the ocean yet light as the sky glimmered back at him. He seemed almost distressed being out in an element she was so perfectly comfortable with. Getting a better look at him she realized whom she was looking at and conversing with.
He was a tall sort then herself well built with a tinge of mystery within his features. Softness in light and a subtle gray mingled to white upon his main points. His mane was an arrangement of gray and gold while his strong legs carried the essence of a wild pattern containing the painting of stripes and spots. But the thing that captured her attention most like other soquili was his eyes. They always said a soul lies within those creations and Kasumi believed no different. They carried a lazy look to them yet harbored deep inside there was an enlightened personality hidden from the world. He was quite unique overall in her perception.
"Hmm Oh enjoying this wonderful rainfall the sky has granted the world. They're quite rare once summer ends." she mused with a toss of her head as the curled locks holding water sprang back with new vigor. There was nothing better then enjoying the falling water for always her coat felt so refreshed and clean afterward.
"And you? You look quite distressed being out here in nature's majesty. Are you seeking shelter perhaps?" she asked with keen eyes watching him. True the weather could be really temperamental at times, deadly even but Kasumi respected the weather and in turn it loved her back. It just seemed so odd to the little water and sky mare that he could be so miserable out in such conditions. She never once had gotten sick nor felt ill in falling rain, but perhaps this stallion was possibly a different matter.
"Hmm well if I can be of any assistance there is a deeper grove of trees further down that don't get any water, yet they grow so thick and tall somehow." she nodded looking off in the distance knowing where this sanctuary was. It was the least she could do if he so inclined to being out of the rain.

She had an odd way of speaking, but he found it some what endearing. She looked quite at home in this sort of weather, and it seemed that the rain sis not bother her a bit. But Alik was now looking over to where she had looked to and he felt that he best go now then wait around for the rain to let up, because he could already tell that it would only get harder.
He gave a small lethargic smile and gazed at her. “I don’t think I am really cut out for this kind of weather. Staying in the rain like this is making me think I am going to be sick with some sort of cold in the next few hours.” It was a high possibility. When it had first started raining it was a nice shower, nothing to be concerned about, and then minutes later a large storm had rolled over the shower, and now this is what it had turned into. Even just standing there, staring at this mare, it felt as if a pound of water coated him.
“I think I shall take your advice and head towards those trees.” He took a step forward, and then took it back. “Would you like to come too?” It only seemed polite in his hazy mind to invite her along.
