Well just about everyone has been talking about how they skrewed up because Azula was able to use lightning during the finale after she went crazy, even though it is supposed to require peace of mind.

A few others I have noticed....

In the bloodbending episode when everyone is sitting around the fire Toph's shoe's had bottoms on them, even though she had taken them off after first stealing them.

During the invasion on the day of black sun azula was distracting everyone so they couldn't find Ozai, she started running away and Aang yelled how he couldn't get her cause she was too quick, after we learned from a wanted poster that Aang ca run "As fast as the wind" which was also demonstrated during the debut episode for the blue mask, so Aang should not have had any trouble catching up to her.

anyone else know of any?

Kya/Kaya's hair.

Swamp episode it was katara esque. Raiders, not so much. In a way katara sort of 'inherited' the hair from her grandmother (who is not kya's mother.)

Yeah...not so much. Looking at the rest of the show and hairstyles....um...Pretty sure it's an error.

The reason Azula had such aptitude with lightning in the first place was her calm, sociopathic attitude. Ergo, nothing would have changed, she just went a little... loopy.

iroh specifically stated that lightning required peace of mind, when he was teaching zuko about it. azula was definately not at peace during the finale, she had a conversasion with an illusion of her mother.

Like I said, she just went a little loopy; I know full well what Iroh said. And knowing that is integral in my argument, peace of mind doesn’t necessarily mean sanity, she could hold her calm and keep her mind clear whether she was falling apart or not. I contend that Zuko’s emotional struggle is what caused him not to be able to utilize the Cold Blooded Fire, whereas Azula simply became paranoid and lost control. She could still have retained the peace of mind (or lack thereof) required whether she was going crazy or not.

While retaining the same basic shape and ideas. Kya's didn't.
Yeah I know in the fire nation she didn't have hair loopies but that was disguise and besides she had substitutes of sorts.

There is one little thing I would like to point out as a rather obvious error that seems to have gone over looked.

Aang's 'I win button' on his back is a tad...iffy. In the final when he's finding the 'Phoenix King', he is thrown harshly into the rock and is jabbed in the back triggering the Avatar state...However, with how hard he hit the rock, how far his back bent, and the location of the magic button, he should have broken his spine and even potentially speared his heart in that attack.
I'm normally against bringing real world physics into a fantasy show with mystical properties, but even making multiple allowances of the magic of the Avatar state, he should have died then. I'd have found it to be more likely to have worked if the rock didn't jut out so drastically.

Also, in Ember Island Players, there were several parts of the play that I can't for the life of me figure out how they made it into the story. There were several parts of the time line that made it into the play where there was no one around to witness the event except for the gang themselves

Oh, they already made an allowance for that. "A surprisingly well informed cabbage merchant." Cabbage was just that effing awesome!

I don't think I really have any inconsistencies. Well, aside from the Mai/Mei thing but I don't think that really counts. >.>

I think the Mei/Mai thing came about from people on the internets perhaps?
Because I can't find anywhere in the Avatar episodes where she is called "Mai".
It's always been Mei. So that is why I think the fans created it out of a typo or something, I don't know, I just call her Mei because that's how the people in the episodes call her razz .

No, the creators made an error if they're sticking to correct eastern pronunciation. Yes, its pronounced "mei" but everywhere, in promos and in official avatar stuff has she been called "mai."

What are you talking about not being in the episodes? Unless they went back and redubbed the first two seasons she was called Mai in the actual show. It wasn't until the third season that they started calling her Mei.

But I didn't mean to totally de-rail this thread. I just remembered an inconsistency: when Appa was stolen. Considering that Flying Bison had been extinct for about 100 years and then one suddenly shows up with the Avatar it shouldn't have been hard for anyone to figure out that this random Flying Bison that's suddenly getting sold belongs to the Avatar. So how come no one but Suki figured it out?

Long Feng did.
It was probably lack of caring, as he kept getting caught by angry farmers and the fire nation.
