Ame limped out into what she figured was about the middle of a large meadow before she finally collapsed. How long had it been? Weeks? Months? Maybe even a year? She couldn't remember. All she knew was that it had been a long time since she had last been free and last seen her mate. She hoped her beloved Sigal was alright. Ame had been away so long. Something could have happend. With a sigh, Ame curled her tail around her slowly feel asleep, hoping tomorrow would bring her better luck.

((Okay, so I do have time for a short and shoddy post. You've been warned!))

The next morning, Sigal headed to the meadow. Their meadow. Why, she didn't know. She had been stopping by irregularly ever since that time. When Ame had disappeared.

While Sigal had lost track of the number of the days, she knew that they had built up into months. Seasons. Were on the far side of half a year, now.

When the weight of being alone in the tribe with her sister and brother-in-law became too much, Sigal came here, to relive the memories, heartbroken that they could no longer make new memories together.

What had happened to her love?

Once she had realized that Ame simply wasn't out exploring, was well and truly gone, well. Sigal had torn apart the lands of the Amore's Tribe. The lands of the Lunarie Tribe. And all of the tribeless lands in between.

Now, it was her pet project to let those of other tribes let her look on their lands for any sign of the beautiful blue vixen. As if her loneliness wasn't bad enough, not knowing why she was suffering it made it a hundred times...a thousand times...no, infinitely worse.

They had been in love. Sigal was still in love. And, at that time, Sigal had thought that Ame still felt the same. There had never been anything that made her have the least suspicion otherwise.

So why? Why was her wonderful mate gone?

The memories of their past together played in front of Sigal's mind's eye, blinding her real eyes to what was in front of her, in their meadow.

It was only when she noticed some motion out of the corner of her eye that she turned, to search for its source, and saw...

((Up to you. Does Sigal see her long lost love? Simply a mouse? An evil modi out for blood?

((Tune in next time, for the amazing misadventures of Sigal and Ame!))

Conscienceness finally found Ame mid morning laying in the meadow. Her thoughts slowly returned to her. The meadow. She sniffed the air. It smelt like the one where she first met her. The one Ame loved. Sigal. Her mate seemed so close now that she was laying there in what seemed to be a familiar spot. Not wanting to face the harsh reality that she was still lost and would probably never see her mate again, she laid there unmoving.

Not to far from where she was, she heard movement. Ame slightly turned her head in the direction. A rabbit it seemed was finding breakfast. She listened to it hop along, then suddenly dash for its home as it was startled. Ame flicked her tail in the tall grass around her wondering what had startled the rabbit. Could it have been another fox? Nah, that would be to good to be true... but what if it was? Ame rolled over and swished her tail in the air as she did so. If it was another modifox, it would have seen her or smelled her or heard her and be curious enough to come see who was there... Or so Ame hopped.

The rabbit dashing off toward its hole pulled Sigal from her thoughts. She sighed. All she really wanted was to be left alone here, with her memories. She swore, she could almost smell Ame--but surely that was her imagination. The delusions of hope, and nothing more.

Ame was gone, and she was simply going to have to deal with that fact. Now, all she could do was try to figure out gone to where, and why. Try to move on from her heartbreak.

This was what she told herself every time she came here, and every time she failed to convince herself of it.

More motion, caught out of the corner of her eye, once again pulled Sigal from her reverie. Something behind a rock this time.

Why was it that the world was conspiring to keep her from her thoughts today?

In hopes of making whatever it was go away, Sigal padded over to the rock. It was probably more of the rabbit's family, she figured. Well, she would go scare them away, and then she could go back to sulking in peace.

The morning sun was climbing higher in the sky and it filled the meadow with it's warmth Ame embraced the heat as she lay on her back and stared up at the blue sky above her.

It was painfull to be here in the meadow and not have Sigal with her... But at the same time it was comforting because it seemed her loved one was so close.

Ame swished her tail back and forth in the grass to make little cracking noises. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then sighed. Swish, swish... Crunch, crunch. Her ears gave a twitch. Odd. Ame swished her tail again. Swish, swish... Crunch, crunch. Her ear's perked and her body fell still as she noticed the crunch crunch didn't belong to her. Something was coming in her direction.

Becoming very alert, Ame listened hard to the sound approuching her. There was a soft padding of paws. A modifox, no doubt. It was lazily wondering in her direction. Were they coming for her? No. They couldn't have followed her here. But what if they had?

Rolling over so that she was on her paws, Ame crouched close to the ground. She huddled herself together to make herself as small as possible. What should she do? Run? Fight? Yell for help? The modifox was getting closer. Ame could almost hear her own pulse rushing. Her heart was threating to beat its way out of her chest. She was frozen in fear. Her senses were out of control, whirling around magnifying every small detail. Adrenaline pumped its way through her body to give her the ability to fight, or run like hell. In all, Ame was on the verge of maddness.

Ame was almost to the point of completely losing control of herself when a small breeze danced through the meadow and carried the scent of the unknown modifox to her. The scent wrapped around her like a warm blanket and Ame instantly relaxed as her eyes filled with tears.

"Sigal."

Sigal stopped. Stared at the sight before her. Stared at the results of her delusions.

"Ame," she breathed, wondering what cruel trick her mind was playing on her, trying to convince her that her beloved mate was here, was finally here and back at last and with here again.

It couldn't be real. After more than half a year of separation, after so long, it couldn't be real. Just another symptom of state. Another delusion. Her wishes given form. But not substance. Not reality.

Right...?

It was her. She was there. Right there in front of her. No more searching.

"Sigal." Ame repeated to Sigal, more solid this time. She stood still. It was so much to take in. She'd been running and searching so long. Could her delusions be coming more real? No. The scent was to real. The sight was to real.

Ame took a small, cautious step forward. Sigal looked as if she was in disbelief. Ame couldn't blame her. She still wasn't exactly sure this was real either.

"Sigal." She said again at a loss for other words and the tears began to leak from her eyes.

She was hearing things now, too? Or...or was it...could it possibly be...?

"Ame," Sigal said again, stepping closer, licking the tears from her mate's cheeks. "Ame Ame Ame," she repeated. Like a mantra. Like a prayer. Somehow, in some way, today of all days was different. Adora had blessed her, by letting her see her mate again. By letting them be together again.

It was her. Not an illusion. She was real. She was tangible. Here, in their meadow, they were together again at last.

"Sigal. Oh, Sigal!" Ame stumbled forward onto her mate and burried herself in her lovers soft fur. She no longer held back any tears and began full out crying. She continued to repeat her lovers name as she nuzzled her. She had said it to herself so many times but now it had a body to go with, it had warmth and meaning.

"Ame! Oh, Ame, I've missed you missed you missed you so much!" Sigal wanted to do the same as Ame, bury her face in her mates fur and sob, but no, she had to be strong, and she had to comfort her!

Sigal curled her tail around the both of them, and nuzzled the top of Ame's head.

"I can't even say how much I've missed you, love," Sigal whispered, as she licked Ame's head. "Or how happy I am that you're back now."

Even if her worst nightmares were true, and Ame had left her, even then, it was okay, because at least the beautiful blue vixen was okay. And that meant everything else was okay, too.

After a few minutes of sobbing, Ame looked up at her beautiful mate.

"I am back. You're here. Its not a dream. I've missed you so much. But you're here. I have you again." Ame looked into the deep pink eyes that she'd been longing for. She could see that she had caused her love many sleepless nights and much pain. Ame knew she had worried her mate and that Sigal must have been losing her mind without her, just like she had.

"I'm so sorry Sigal. I never ment to get lost. I love you so much. I--" She was at a lost for words and could do nothing launch into another crying episode.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 19, 2009 9:54 pm

Lost? That was it? A sense of relief flooded Sigal so strongly, the fuchsia-colored vixen's knees nearly gave out. Her mate hadn't abandoned her, or been kidnapped, or fallen off a cliff and died, she had just been lost.

And now, Sigal wasn't so surprised. She had tried to find Ame those first few days, but her mate's scent had disappeared at a stream, making following her impossible. And Sigal guessed the same thing had happened to Ame. The stream thing, making backtracking impossible.

"It's okay, I'm sad that we were apart for so long, but I'm so so so happy we're together now! We can make up for all the time we lost! We'll make it up! I promise!" Sigal exclaimed, licking Ame more, trying to comfort the fox she loved best in all the world.

Ame was so happy she didn't know what to do. Sigal was safe, unharmed, and had waited for her return. Her mate hadn't moved on or forgotten her. Ame couldn't help but smile and thank Adora for not abandoning her and reuniting her with her wonderful mate.

"Thank you Sigal." Ame licked her mate playfully and decided to catch up on all she'd missed to ease her mind. "So what all has happened in the tribe? How's your Twilight? And your dad?" There were so many questions. So much she had missed.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 20, 2009 8:54 pm

"The tribe's been really quiet even before you left. The only things that happened where when you disappeared, and then when Twilight had kits." Wow, Sigal just realized that Ame didn't even know she was an aunt. Had been an aunt for a while. Was an aunt to grown up foxes now. It had been so, so, so long.

"And daddy's okay, I guess. I haven't really been by since that one night. I think my half-siblings hate me. Oh, and Aunt Rina's off wandering with her tribe now, so I can't get news about daddy and his tribe from her anymore...Maybe I should go visit again. See if they still hate me.

"Not that any of that really matters that much. The two most important things of the past happened about half a year ago, when you disappeared, and then today, when I found you again." Sigal smiled, and licked Ame's ear.

"But what about you? What did you do, when you were away? I would have been so lonely and scared...You're so strong and brave to have been able to be alone for so long!"

((Um, couldn't remember if Ame was around for Twilight's kits, or Sigal's not-so-fun Lunarie meeting, so I kind of made it up. xp ))

Ame stared at Sigal in somewhat shock. "Twilight had kits? When? Are they still kits?" Wow. So Sigal and herself were aunts now. She smiled, knowing she would get to see Twilights children once she returned back to their tribe lands.

"Wait... You have half siblings? Jeez I've missed a lot. Well if you go back, I'll go with you." Ame gave her mate a reassuring nuzzle and lick.

"As for me. Well at first I tried retracing my steps but there were so many streams and I couldn't remember which ones I'd crossed so I got all confused. I feel in a hole in the ground that took me to a cave. That was pretty cool actually." Ame smiled at remembering the bats and pretty rocks in the cave.

"Luckly for me there was an exit near by but it just confused me more. And then..." Ame gave a tiny shiver and few deep breaths. "There were some foxes. They were... very unfriendly... I'm not sure how I escaped them, everything gets blurry there. But I know I fell in a river and was washed away." Ame looked down as if trying her best to remember what happened next.

"Someone pulled me out. I didn't recognize the scent but I remember waking up to warmth and food. But every thing's still really fuzzy. After that, I just wandered. I just walked and walked. I wanted to get back to you so badly. You never left my thoughts." Ame smiled and licked her beautiful lover. "I was lonely and I was scared. I felt like giving up once."

Ame looked down ashamed that the thought had ever crossed her mind. "I was crying so hard I tripped. Something gabbed into my arm and I realized it was my key. I knew then that I wasn't really alone. I still had you. Somewhere. And I was going to get back to you no matter what."
