WTF!!

Stupid idiotic people had to go and post the manuscript on the internet illegally!! ARGH!!! WHY WHY WHY!!

Sigh. Anyways, I'm sorry that this had to happen, it shouldn't have been leaked. I'm not saying that i won't read it but i'll only read the draft on SM's site and nowhere else. I had no idea this happened until i saw this and I'm kinda mad at the idiots who did it... Now everyone has to wait that much longer to read the finished and published version. (who knows when it'll come out now)

WOW! 264 Pages of Edward and total Bliss... I'm still upset by what happened though

I am so upset, I want to cry right now!
I can't believe someone posted it up knowing how much Stephenie disapproves of spoilers, not only that its illegal.
    Stupid people.
I am really mad, and I feel bad that this has made Stephenie so
sad that she has to discontinue writing Midnight Sun. Ugh, how can people LIVE with themselves? D<

    They really should be ashamed.
I want to see what Stephenie has written and posted up on her page, but at the same time I don't want to. I'll probably end up reading it eventually, but right now...ugh.

    I'm too upset.

So, I was a tad bit annoyed when I read that, but not for the reasons people have posted.

Her response could have been a bit more professional instead of this baaaawwww-fest announcement. Yes, a leak happen and leaks happen to the best of authors. It's a human mistake. (But then again, Meyer's "anti-human" so maybe that's why she whined...)
Instead of being "Wah, I'm just not gonna write no more since my emotions affect my writing so much and I don't plan", she could've persevered like a strong writer would and completed the book. It was just a manuscript. It's not like the actual book. :/ Things would have to change so it would be "infintely superior" like she said the final draft would be.
But no. She can't live up to her own words and posted the draft on her website and decided not to write it.

The ONLY thing that's going to come out of this postpone is disgruntled fans. The illegal jerks who posted it online in the first place probably don't give a rat's a** about Meyer. Her fans, on the other hand, actual care and wanted to read it.

So basically, Meyer unknowingly punished her fans who are giving the money she has today. Way to go.

crying I was seriosly extreamly upset. I hope she does continue it. I haven't read the posted manuscript yet. I don't know if I will or just wait forever for her to actually publish it.

The only thing I can really think right now is...publicity stunt.

I mean, think about it. Breaking Dawn was just released and though I think Midnight Sun is going to do very well, I also think interest on the book will peak if fans are like "Oh noes! No Midnight Sun?!" And keep checking the site for updates, hoping for information about a release despite the leak.

I do think Midnight Sun will still be released. And it's not really optimism talking, it's the dollar signs and figures Little & Brown are envisioning. I'm sure a big enough chunk of the profit will convince Mrs. Meyer to continue writing.

She is upset. Nothing you say will change that. It's not her fault it was leaked. Maybe she could have "persevered like a strong writer would and completed the book" but since she is upset it probably wouldn't be anywhere near as good as it could be. I would rather just have part of the book than have the whole thing but with the second half really crappy. Also, it is not yet set in stone whether she will finish it or not. Maybe she will finish it, but not for a while. Maybe in a few months or even a year, she will not be upset any more and will be able to finish it. Maybe not. We'll see what happens. If I were in the same situation, I would be upset, too. Something that she has been working on for most likely at least a few months has been ruined. Give her some time. She at least deserves that much.

Upon doing some reserch i have found that only 4 parties had manuscrips. They are:
Robert Patterson (for character development)
Stephenie's publishers
Her sponsers
and of cource Stephenie herself.

One of these parties posted the manuscript online.... i very much doubt it was Robert Patterson (he would not on the grounds of protecting his carrear and the chance to be in future films) therefore i have come to the conculsion that on of the enployies of her publishers leaked it for cash.

I am still upset and upon reading the extract, it saddens me more that the book may not be complated...i was hoping very much that i would be able to read the medow scene in edwards point of view... sad

She at least deserves that much.

Never said she wasn't upset. In fact, I desribed her post as a baaaaaaawwww-fest, which means she was overly upset about something that happens to the best of people. There was no need for her to go into tantrum mode and say, "I can't finish a book that's already been published and I can't follow the original because I just don't feel like it."
Also, it was a manuscript. Not the final copy. It's totally understandable that she's a bit miffed at the leak, but to go to the extreme and say, "As of today, Midnight Sun will not be finished unless I feel like doing it later." Manuscripts have to be changed and editted, which means there is a lot of room for change. Especially with that s**t Spanish she put in there. Dx Babblefish, much?

Besides, like Vampire Kylee brought up, money talks louder than Meyer's teenage emotions. Midnight Sun would probably be published because after this fiasco, more fans will be like, "NO! Meyer please publish it! I'll still buy iiiiiitt~~~!" And c'mon. Midnight Sun is just Twilight from Eddie-kin's POV, so everything is already laid out. Only thing to add is Edward's voice to the story. That's it.
