I've decided to create a shopping guide, so that those of us who would like to prioritize our buying according to environmental and ethical concerns will have easy access to lists of responsible options. For now, I'm going to try to fit this all into one thread, since having separate threads might be cumbersome for the guild (at least until we get our sub-forum feature).
The companies which offer the products listed in this guide will be linked to from their names. Follow those links to browse the full range of their offerings, and either order directly from the company, or use their search features to find suppliers which carry their goods in your area (where possible).
Please feel free to PM me with suggestions, comments, and bump this thread as needed to keep it vital.

Environmentally Responsible store chainsCertain stores have set a higher standard for the products they offer, and have gained a reputation as responsible sources for a high-quality, and ethical range goods. We're not all lucky enough to live within easy reach of one of these modern economical miracles, but for those of us who are, they are a valuable resource and a source of reassurance. I'm going to list a few of these chains as I come across them, and as others recommend them. Where possible, the name of the store will be linked to that store's main page. Sites of these sorts usually include Store Finder search functions, so follow the link and enter your information to find a store in your area. And without further ado, let the lists begin! Green for Good (an online organics store)Trader Joes- which apparently offers some inexpensive organic foods, as well as the more usual stuff. They are willing to special order anything to which they have access, on request- so if you don't see it, just ask!^_^Urban Harvest (a local organic delivery service)Whole FoodsWild OatsAnother website which may be useful is this one, which searches a large database of Earth-friendly stores based on your geological location: http://www.allforanimals.com/cruelfree1.htm- All For Animals, a listing of cosmetic corporations which do not test on animals. http://www.certifiedhumane.com- Certified Humane, check here for farms and ranches which have certified humanely raised livestock

MeatsApplegate Farms- Their animals are raised on strictly vegetarian feeds, without antibiotics. They are Certified Humane in raising their animals, but I'm unsure as to whether they process their own animals and if that can be guaranteed humane. More information is needed. Seafood Watch regional seafood guides- Seafood Watch has a more comprehensive guide to responsible seafood consumption than I could ever hope to put together. Check to see what's responsibly fished in your region, and check back every now and then for their periodic updates.
