Well, too much of anything can be bad.
If soy was inherently a bad food choice, I think we'd know by now since it's been a staple of Asian cuisines for years. rolleyes

<3 I'm thinking it's just another blowover to get Veggies to eat meat. It's a never-ending battle to get acceptance for our lifestyle. Though, that's not as comparable to other altern-lifestyles. I'm thinking that it's a hoax. Oh, and I've heard that soy causes cancer? Bullcrap. >>;;

Everything causes cancer anymore. I think the only thing that might not cause cancer is chewing on a big wad of cancer. They implanted cancer cells into a mouse embryo once and the mouse grew to adult without cancer. Interesting.
But yeah, I didn't watch it, but coming from YouTube I'm not sure how reliable it would be anyway. Regardless of what it says, I still love my granola and soy/rice milk in the morning. Yummmm.

<3 Of course, everything causes cancer. But way back in the day, everything seemed to be fine. A lot less deaths per year when medicine wasn't around. Now that modern medicine has been introduced into daily lives, it can be somewhat good, but the side-effects is what gets you. Soy IS good for you. I just think that it's some type of hoax or something.
And doctors say that soy isn't good for white people? That's racist, even if it comes from white people. >>;;

I know the video is crazy, but I saw it on other websites before I saw it on YouTube. I just kinda wonder why people put this kind of stuff up and make blogs about it.

Keep in mind that these same people say that plastic bags are bad (no s**t), and that you shouldn't quit smoking.
My mom's boyfriend said that eating soy has been linked to memory loss, or something like that.
Aluminum has been linked to alzheimer's, and how many aluminum products do we use daily? More than you can count.
Meat has been linked to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, salmonella, escherichia coli, parasites, asthma, and a multitude of other diseases.
EVERYTHING we do is somehow endangering us.
It says "high soy," but who eats that much soy in one day? Soy milk for breakfast, soy bar for lunch, massive amounts of edamame for dinner... Anything in high concentrations is bad for you, including water. People drown in water, you know. Diseases and parasites are spread through it. Is water now "deadly" too? Watch out for that dihydrogen monoxide!
It's not like soy is the only source of protein for us. Even if it was, how many of you would want to live a long life of eating meat, rather than a shorter life as a veg*n?
My AP Bio teacher said that the likelihood of developing cancer increases with each generation. As we go throughout life, our DNA accumulates mutations. If our parents smoked as teens or inhaled a lot of second hand smoke, got too much sun exposure, too much radiation, consumed too many artificial sweeteners... All of those add up, and are passed down to us. I think it's all the artificial, processed crap we put in our bodies.
As for feeding babies soy... You're not supposed to feed them cow milk, either, and yet nobody is getting their panties in a knot over that. Babies are meant to spend their early years on mother's milk. Not milk from another species, and not milk made from a bean. You can't feed them healthy things like fruits right away, but that doesn't mean that fruit is bad for the rest of us.
People say a lot of crap. Others will believe that crap because it seems somewhat scientific. I just graduated high school, and yet I could make up a story that's based on unrelated facts and stuff I made up about parasites inducing blindness in the feeble & elderly, which also causes them to lose their teeth and mumble. I can find at least one person who would believe every word of it. Act like you know what you're talking about (PhD or not), and people won't ask questions.
I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing regardless of what anybody says. So I'm endangering myself by eating soy? At least I'm enjoying my life. Heaven or hell or reincarnation, I'm going to assume that this is my one shot. Quality over quantity.V e g a n i z a t i o n And doctors say that soy isn't good for white people? That's racist, even if it comes from white people. >>;; Let's assume that's true for a moment... I don't think that's racist. DNA varies slightly between different races. White people are more prone to sun burn (and skin damage), freckles and red hair is common among Irish, and Africans are mostly immune to the effects of malaria. Second generation African-Americans are more likely to have heart attacks. It's because of the stress levels from discrimination, but it still affects that race more than others.
In "white people," there could be a certain enzyme to fully break down soy that they don't have, something passed down from their ancestors in England or Germany (etc).
Buuut... I'm half white, and that's not going to stop me from consuming soy products. :]

Er, not entirely agreeing with you on that point. Mutations caused by environmental factors aren't passed on genetically. Apart from the odd thing like radiation damage, depending. Sun exposure, smoking and artifical sweeteners... they'll do damage to the person consuming them but not to any offspring. (unless you smoke while pregnant, so they say) I don't think mutations build up. Certianly, if we lived like cavemen then natural selection would take place and only the strongest would survive. But because that doesn't happen then yes, some traits can get passed on where a person wouldn't have otherwise survived. But honestly, a lot of these genetic things don't kick in until later... Alzheimer’s, cancer... after we have already had kids, who can inheret the gene. EVERYONE has mutations. Mutations are normal. Some are benign, some not, some fatal. Like me.... I have Raynaud's disease, Hypermobility, I'm long-sighted... nothing too series, but caused by genetic mutations none the less. Not caused by eating fast food or anything like that. That's nature. In fact, evolution starts with mutations!

I think I'll take my chances with soy over dying young from heart disease (as seems to be a habit in my family history).

Soy is DEFINITELY dangerous in high amounts, but it isn't dangerous if you just drink a little of soy milk here and there or some foods with soy. I think if you ate crap tons though, it would be bad. Another thing is that soy products have benefits that outweigh the negatives.
Also, the "meat market" wants to put soy down constantly. Go to the grocery store and look at every product you see. Most will contain soy. Go figure.
