 The beach is the perfect setting for any summer day. One that is especially hot and relief would often be needed so as not to exhaust and have possible fainting ensue. Crashing waves hitting the pliable sand with surprising force left small dents were the water went, then left, returning back to sea. Ears constantly twitched at every unknown sound, and thoughts were constantly in motion. Why did the waves make that sound? Why was it so hot? Why was he just lying on the sand and not in the water were instant cooling relief awaited him? These unvarying questions swirled in his mind and there was no way to stop them!
Alik was lazy, and didn’t feel much like moving from his comfortable niche in the sand that he had made for himself. The sand curled around his body, he had buried himself slightly into the sand, and although the sun was high and blazing above him, he didn’t move into the cold waters that were before him…Merely inches away. He had sat in a place were the waves almost reached him when they crawled up the shore, but were barely out of his reach, and it was starting to irritate him. Sighing, he decided a move was indeed in order, and after sitting for hours and not moving, it was much needed. He got up on unstable legs and walked into the surf. The water hit his hooves and he let a sigh escape him. It was a good feeling.

 Where was she going? Never did the mare knew where she was heading but she could hear the sound of loud crashes in the distance. She trotted slowly in the hot sand and her body was consumed with the sun's ungodly rays. If she did not find anything to cool herself off then she might find herself down on the ground. Her nostrils flared picking up the scent of salty water and also another Soquili.
Never did she really enjoy the company of another Soquili. She once enjoyed spending time with her family but it has been so long since she last saw them. A light pant escaped from her as she trotted forth looking for the water source. Suddenly she stopped seeing the ocean before her and a wave of relief swept through her. Kaim did little to pay attention to the stallion that was nearby the ocean.
Raising her head up and walking on as if everything was alright, never would she let her pride down. She quickly entered the ocean up to just above her hooves since she knew it wouldn't be such a good idea for her to go any deeper. Her crimson eyes then wandered over towards the stallion giving him a look.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw a mare approach the water and she seemed to not notice him. That was fine with him; he was more solitary than others, although he did have a few friends. When she finally did look his way and gave him a not so nice look he gave her a stare down, adding a bit of a glare shining through.. How irritating, a mare that is pretty but is really probably a brat. His luck shining through or lack thereof.
“Hello.” Attempting conversation might break whatever issue she already seemed to have towards him. Alik would try and be friendly, so that it could never be said he didn’t’ try and be nice to the mare. The water kept moving up the beach and hitting his hooves, and it caused his body temperature to lower, and making him more comfortable. Maybe he would just make his new spot here. Oh the possibilities.

The glare only made her think he was trying to intimdate her. Her crimson eyes just rolled and her body was now feeling cool again. She started to walk back towards land and when she herd him speak to her, she stopped. Looking back at him and giving him that look of not trusting "Hello..." her tone wasn't so friendly. It's not that she wasn't friendly she just didn't care for stallions all that much.
She kept thinking of the womanizer Swift Wind when ever she looked at one. Still she would allow this stallion to prove her wrong of her thoughts.

She looked nice and sweet on the inside, although he did admit that her eyes seemed to glow red and it creeped him out a little, but on the inside she seemed cold and quite possibly rude. “And, what is you name?” He asked, but his tone was that of someone that was bored, and could care less of the answer. But, he was still interested in what she would respond with.
Alik moved closer to her, stepping out of the waves and back onto the hot sand. He sunk into it immediately and now there was sand clinging to his hoof. He huffed in annoyance and looked over to the mare.

Kaim backed away as he moved closer to her and still kept a watchful eye on him. Her tail started to swat back and forth ]"I am Kaim and you are?" she kept a serious upfront. She didn't trust the male kind that much. Her ears flickered every now and then listening to the crashes the waves made. He seemed to get the fact she had an attitude about her and she couldn't help but smirk a bit.
Oh she didn't care how she looked to others. Since most of them weren't worth the effort to impress anyways. Though if he gave a reason to rile her up she might go a bit on the bitter side.

Oh yes, definite attitude on this one. She seemed rather proud and in the future might be an annoyance to him. He was having troubles with the sand and trying to follow her was becoming more difficult with every step in the granulated rocks. Alik was always clumsy, and so he needed to watch all his steps while making his way over to the mare.
Looking at her with his gold eyes he answered her question. “I am Alik Elric, but you can just call me Alik.” With all this walking he just wanted to lie down again, but to have a proper conversation with one standing you too would have to be standing. Or at least in his mind that was the way to do it. He now found himself a few feet from her, and it seemed such a long distance, but he would see if she was uncomfortable before moving again.

Her crimson eyes watched his every move and she didn't move from her spot unless he came closer to her. Her tail flicked and she gave him a light smile that masked her true non-trusting nature "Alik? I suppose it is a pleasure depending on how this meeting is." her voice was struggling to keep that warm inviting voice. The sounds the ocean made got the mare slightly distracted. Though not distracted enough to keep her guard down for anyone.
"What brings you out here?" she tilt her just a bit head and trying to look as if she was interested in talking to him. Right now she was digging in and trying to find how this stallion acted. Looking to find a flaw that might bring up her suspicions "Looking for a mare or two? Hmmm?" she gave him a sly smirk.

Alik’s eyes widened in disbelief. Was she serious? Did he seem that way? How peculiar. Maybe, it was all a game or something. “Possibly. You never know.” His tone may have sounded nonchalant, but the small glare he gave her explained his true emotions. “However, I do believe on this outing I am merely enjoying the day, or at least I was.” He never knew that talking to this mare would make him so…irritated. Perfect word.
The ocean was calling to him and he desperately just wanted to go relax in the burning sand and have the surf hit him all at the same time. It sounded like a good idea in his mind, and he was now convincing himself to leave Kaim here, in her oh so very nice mood, and enjoy what was left of the day. Her attitude might have been fun, and he might’ve liked a witty conversation that wasn’t laced with sarcasm and dislike, if she had been possibly a bit nicer. Possibilities for change in attitude? He didn’t know.

She couldn't help but feel great inside seeing she irritated him. She moved away from him again so her hooves could feel the ocean's water. She turned to look back at him with a gentle breeze causing her mane to sway "Hmmm..perhaps your not like the others then." of course she wasn't going to be easily tricked by his words. Swift Wind was quite a smooth talker and make anyone believe in what he says! Perhaps she should put her wall down just a bit to see if this stallion, Alik could crack?
"Do you enjoy being alone or do you prefer company?" her question was out of the blue. It also didn't make much sense but she didn't either most of the time.

Happy to see her near the ocean again he trotted into the surf and splashed a bit of water. The tip of his tail was now wet and hitting against the back of his legs but for some reason it brought him a bit of happiness. Momentarily forgetting the mare that was not to far off from him, he found a perfect place to lie down so that the water would still hit him while still in the sand. After he was situated he looked over to Kaim once again to answer her almost forgotten question.
“I like to be by myself, but it is nice to be around others, usually only in small quantities.” He raised an eyebrow and gave her a glance. “Who else have you met that is so deplorable to you, that you base their personality on others?”

The ocean was delightful and kept her body cool. Though not once did she keep her gaze away from the stallion. She still didn't know whether to trust him or not? Her front right leg raised and stomped down causing some splashes "I see. I like to be by myself too, that way you don't have to depend on anyone." she nods. Her ears twitched hearing the sounds of the sea birds flying about and making a racket.
A small laugh escaped from her "Oh his name is Swift Wind and he is a complete moron." she spoke badly of him. If he wasn't such a womanizer and acted like he was so knightly maybe she' think he was alright.

So, she might not be too bad, and she seemed to like solitude just as much as he did. Friends were nice sometimes, but could easily become annoying and clingy in his mind. He knew that thinking badly on his few friends would cause bad karma, but it was just his opinion. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, his blonde piece of bang got into his eyes and he blew on it to get it out of his line of sight. The ocean was a calm a deep blue that pleased his eyes. The water kept running up the shore, hit his legs, and then floated back out into the blue that encompassed his sight.
He turned his head back to the mare, “This Swift Wind character, why is he a moron exactly?” Was he just stupid, or was he a stallion that thought he was better then others? He didn’t know but she obviously did not have a high opinion of him.

She let out a small sigh at having to talk more on Swift Wind. That pathetic pink moron always brought her mood down. Her crimson eyes just rolled "He tries to act like he is the greatest thing. Always trying to win the hearts of every mare." man she did not care for him. Though to her misfortune her human watched over him and her, also Ciel but that mare was quietly boring. She looked up briefly just glaring at the sky just as if she was waiting for that stupid alicorn to fly over.
"I got stuck with him when I lost sight of my parents and siblings. He pretty much raised me but he is still a moron despite that." she didn't have much good experiences with him. Her crimson eyes then landed back on him again "Do you have any siblings?"

Ah, a womanizer troubled her. No wonder she asked him about trying to find mares. From the corner of his eyes he saw that she had been glaring at the sky for a while before she asked the question and he let a sigh escape him when she did. “I do, one sister. She is…annoyingly happy and irritating.” He shrugged but let a small smile play on his face before fading. “But she’s my sister, and therefore, forced to like her.”
Alik and his sister got along pretty well, but they had their disagreements. But what siblings didn’t? Of course, she was always the adventurous one, and he was, well, not. He gazed out at the waters once again and let his mind wander, if only for a moment.
