Omiyage, is Japanese gift giving! 3nodding

If you, say, went on an exchange program or something, would you need omiyage? sweatdrop
Also, can you peeps please post whatever knowledge you have on this topic?

I would think having an omiyage ready would do wonders in developing your relations with your host family. Remember to make the gift something nice/a regional specialty from your area

Well, from what I've heard and read you give omiyage when you have taken a trip to another country. And you bring back something from that country to your friends, family and people from your work.
Also what does this mean? sweatdrop -> おみやげ ?

I think omiyage is a great idea. I mean, it's a great impression. It gives you the chance to do something once you get with the host family. And wouldn't it always awesome when people bring you stuff from other countries!!!!???
