A few months ago, I couldn't chirp up with any controversial crap without someone throwing their two cents in.

See, I liked that. I liked that a lot. Aside from me being an exceptionally arrogant man, I enjoy intelligent conversation. I'm a master debater. I need some form of roiling conflict that causes turmoil, resentment, and if I'm lucky a viewpoint that hadn't been considered before in a new light. It's something to waste my time, something I thoroughly enjoy. My bread and butter.

Whatever.

However, it seems like things have been lapsing as of late. >=( Not a lot of posts going on. Not a lot of controversy being stirred up. Not a lot of expansive busoms and scantily-clad women. And this makes me a sad panda.

I know school is starting. And I know some people have business, family, or other personal obligations- believe me, I do too. But geez, it isn't like there isn't anything to talk about. The bad presidential candidates? How Al Gore is a god-damned idiot? How environmentalists are acting retarded? Colonies planned for outer space? Your take on a Dutch Oven?

Seriously. Koiyuki's the only person actually checking up on the forum. I like her and all, but it wouldn't be the IPG if I were throwing this stuff out just to her. I'd, y'know, PM her and stuff. =( And as dominant and occasionally-sadistic I can be, I'm not the sort of person who PM's someone out of the blue and goes "Hey, what do you think about Obama? Hypocritical, inexperienced, stupidity...Right? ;D"

So, the bottom line is...Where the heck are you guys. o.O

As mascot of this IPG, this is what I feel about the lack of activity here:

A lot of the older active members have either left the site for an indefinite amount of time(this also include a lot of our moderators as well) or have found themselves entrenched in other places around Gaia. The fact of the matter is that even though I do regard the current members as high quality individuals(even if I strongly disagree with their viewpoints), they lurk quite often and don't post until someone else does, which has grown to be less and less as time moves on. All guilds go through the same thing, and some of them even grow still and don't have activity for months or even years at a time. There needs to be a semi constant stream or fresh blood coming in to keep the place invigorated and interesting along with people being more active and actively discussing the options posted instead of just sitting back and listening(something I'm also guilty from a lot of the time, mostly due to my non-confrontational nature). That means getting the word out about this place and steering people to a place like this, where they can openly express their opinions and debate them with others without fear of bias determining if they are risking bans, or what have you.

In generally, I personally have not been on Gaia that much in the recent past. It feels like mostly work, especially when it comes to sifting through a mountain of crap topics in ED or the music forums, and that's not enjoyable. I'm trying to come back on, but work is a soul sucking experience, day after life sucking day. Additionally, spending time out of the house takes away from computer time, and a hopeless addiction to surfing musician'sfriend.com when I am on the computer steals my attention. I'm posting though right now, so maybe I can convince myself to pay a visit to Gaia more often.

Well, Master Debater, here I am.

I myself do not consider myself a Master Debater, more of a Master Baiter (and Masturbator, but that's another story for another day). I only discuss to see others roll in their contradictions over the 'net. Anyways, I understand your point, but this one's mine:

We kinda outgrew Gaia at the moment. Well, some of us. I come here about every two days, and check my mail, which is empty, check on my friend's journals, which often talk about how long was it they last visited and how retarded everyone's getting, and check my profile, which kicks a**.

I take some requests in some Boob Guild, draw a bit and submit it to DA. Seriously, when was the last time we commented on someone's art? When was the last time any of the many very interesting veterans last posted, excluding Koiyuki? (Who is a man, by the way. Seems you fell for his trap!)

The truth is, Gaia's really not that interesting anymore. It caters to the young, thoughtless, me-too crowd, and many of us find this boring. Sure, we could make this Guild into a more thoughtful, serious-yet-fun place, but that's hard, considering many of us don't even post outside of guilds anymore, and getting fresh meat in here is hard without getting retards who think we're all about dicks, tits and a**.

I'm not angry at this, though. The older members have grown into excellent individuals capable of critical thinking. The younger ones never posted, so I don't miss them. It's natural. Someday this Guild will close, we'll meet up in some other site, outgrow that one and move on. It happens. This guild isn't dead, but expecting new posts in times of class, work, family and hobby is a bit far-fetched. I have college to attend, if I'm lucky I'm soon getting a job, and many other things. I'm trying to draw more frequently, and I have a lot of stories, mangas, books and blogs that I wanna read. This all takes away from my time in forums, and Gaia isn't the only forum I assist.

And what for? To troll people for liking Naruto? To burn retards who think 4chan copied off Gaia? To look at GD and ED and see that they haven't changed in anything in years except for having more and more retards in common? To be honest, I'll lurk on my guilds, contribute to fun threads and art threads and be on my way. I do quite enough debating in my classes and amongst my friends to need Gaia for it. This site is supposed to be fun, and I find it more boring as time passes. I enjoy reading Koiyuki's posts, I enjoy visiting art threads, but Discussion? In this Gaia? It's less likely than you'd think.

This is one of the world's largest forums, do not expect intelligence very often. Find good friends, bring them to your own guilds(or here, for that matter), and enjoy the kinds of conversations you enjoy. I won't be leaving this site until either something disgusts me thoroughly enough for me to want to leave, or it gets lost in the shuffle of my life as it progresses. All things break down in time, why not appreciate them for what they are, rather than lament what they could be or have been?

I only pop in Gaia once every...month? Yeah, work and social life have caught up to me. In addition, I stopped going to University, so I can't waste my time on Gaia like I used to for procrastination purposes.

...errr...

Baby mammals are cute as self defense mechanism or is it that we're all ******** pansies? DISCUSS!!!

Dominant hmm? How interesting. redface
I feel guilty for not making very many posts as long as I have been here.
I've been such a rotten lurker. I get online, I look about, and then I hide.
I shall make more posts in the future, as this thread seems to have caught the attention of fellow members making posting more worthwhile.

You know, I hadn't thought about it, but now I find it funny that he scolded people for not posting here anymore, yet he posted this and hasn't posted again.

This calls for some ironic bouncing on trampolines without a bra on *bounce bounce*

As far as I'm concerned, I would be here if the others who I grew up with at the IPG were also here more often, but it's so hard to have good discussions with people who make butt, fart, and d**k jokes. The IPG is all about being a pervert who is, first and foremost, an intellectual. It invites intelligent discussion about sexuality and sexual behavior, because sex is interesting and it's essential to a healthy psychological state.
