i've never been to the chinatown in San Fran, but i've been to the one in NY. Lotsa times. that's what happens when you are born in Manhatten, NY and is chinese. i like to go there for tea. i don't know how to say it...we say..."heau yum cha" or something like that...i can't translate cantonese into english...

whoo!! N.Y Chinatown... i love the bakeries yummy. and sticky rice is soo easy to find. great am now hungry.

I've been to both the SF Chinatown and the NY Chinatown, that said... the NY one is far more ghetto and was rather unsettling that everyone started closing and locking up at 7PM. sweatdrop

I went to the San Fran one when I went to the US, but only briefly.
I usually go to the Chinatown in london - but it leaves much to be desired. mad

I haven't been to any of those Chinatowns before. crying I've only been to the one here in Toronto, even if I dislike it. Ah, but the Chinese shopping centres, stores, and other places of eating are all over Markham. smile I like going there! lol

I'd never went to the U.S. but I often go to my hometown's (Montreal in Canada) Chinatown and to Toronto's Chinatown. ( I love Pacific mall!)

Yeah we're pretty ghetto lol. But not everyone starts locking up at 7 some lock up at 9... usually the streets are empty after 9. like no girls on the streets after 9p.m.
@wiim: oh dude you should totally go. to the N.Y. chinatown. so much fun but should travel in groups and someone who knows N.Y. really well and with someone really big... shouldn't be a problem for you ^^

@wiim, yeah, my dad doesn't like the chinatown there either, but we all like Markham (that's why my family walked around there a couple of times in a couple of days(for vacation))

@sasa, but the pacific mall is so big gonk , i almost got lost and i couldn't use my cell phone xp (why can't i use my phone in canada gonk )
but overall, i do like it, there's a lot of stores (even if none of them can sell anything)

it's not as active as the malls in NY though
the malls in NY are packed
