hmm...
I heard about this in ShenYuePop,
but I didn't know it was this bad...
Poor DBSK,
no matter how hard they try to be considered JPop artist
it sucks that they're stuck in the Foreign Artist section.
But from the view of the Japanese labels and other japanese music big wigs,
Tohoshinki is a BIG threat.
I mean,
look at thier popularity in Korea.
They might be afraid that a korean group might overtake and outshine japanese groups.
Recent statisctics shown that ever since DBSK debuted in Japan,
most japanese kids, mostly girls,
have become fans of Korean music and buy more CDs from Korean artists than before.

My bff was just in Japan and while she was there she wanted to buy a couple of their singles. She spent like half an hour looking for them in the music store that she went to, and she couldn't find them. Then finally she asked the store clerk and he showed her where they were. They were, of course, in the foreign section. The worst part was that they didn't even have any of TVXQ's Korean albums. All they had were Japanese singles/albums.

I think that they are scared. I would be intimidated by them. I just wonder if all Korean bands that go to Japan get the same treatment. Or if foreign artists in general get that treatment.

Think about it. In ANY country, is it difficult for foreign artists to accepted. I mean, generally, it is hard for a foreigner to make it big at the pace Dong Bang has managed to do.

This is very unfortunate but at the same time not all that surprising. Johnny is the dominating entertainment business in Japan and they simply aren't prepared to give up their 'spot' to some foreign company. (Yes it's harsh, but that's how our world works). I'm almost positive that if the situation were reversed, dong bang was from japan, per say, the same thing would happen in Korea.

The fact is, in the entertainment industry, it takes time for foreign artists to truly be 'accepted' as any other local group.

I'm not defending Music Station's actions I'm just pointing out that we should see it from a different perspective. After all, music station is a business.

However, instead of letting this outrage our fans, it should motivate us to support our boys even more. The fact that they are big enough for Music Station to purposely not invite them means that they are being noticed. Despite the fact that their CDs are being 'hidden' they are still topping the charts and their Japanese fan base grows daily. Because of these things we must continually support our boys. I feel that if they keep working hard in japan (which they will because they're awesome like that <3) they will be able to be formally accepted by the Japanese Entertainment industry. =) Come on guys, they crossed overseas into unknown territory, topped the charts so many times, broke a record for consecutive #1 singles and officially have the largest fan base in the world. Do you really think they're going to let one music station's bias hold them back? No. Music Station will give in. When they realize that no matter how hard they try to chain them down, our gods will rise.

That's ridiculous! And a huge mistake on Music Station's part.
