The Ifrit shall deal with the people who burned and assaulted the summoner when called upon. After each act of revenge the Ifrit is allowed to burn the area in a radius of five miles. Once the revenge is complete, the demon can set ablaze the area between the scorched revenge points. Later on, it will be asked to reveal its ancient knowledge of spells and history for the use of the summoner. After five years this power will vanish, weakening the summoner‘s life span, and the Ifrit will be free of the talisman it is bound to, allowing to do as it pleases. The summoner will also destroy the talisman and sign that she will never summon an Ifrit again.

“Battered bones and deep bruises heal, but burns and scars never fade.”

After a kidnapping and assault, I was left with deep emotional scars and large, ugly burns all on my right side. The worst was the entirety of my arm and the skin that links my armpit with my stomach; with the burns stopping just above the knee and on my neck. The doctors, ‘quacks’ as I call them, said I was lucky my face wasn’t scalded. Sure, lucky, right. I assume they never had to go through the burn unit treatment with second and third degree burns on their bodies.

Smarmy bastards.

My back was also ravaged, but I never see it unless I turn around in the mirror. Even after five years just looking at the burns makes horrible memories come flooding back. I fought back, and I was torched for it. I have become reclusive, only coming out into public once in a while for food or some sort of necessity. The rest of the time I muddle about my dingy little apartment, contemplating revenge. But how? I can’t do it by myself. Thoughts came and went; each idea chilling and terrible, yet oddly satisfying until that little prissy inner voice comes in and says “It wouldn’t work.” Then one day it dawned on me.

“What about…A demon?” The voice was surprisingly quiet this time, and once I had seen a television show talking about demons and summonings. So why not? Plus, along with revenge, I just might get the demon to teach me its infinite wisdom. But what kind of demon would be the best for this? The damn voice came back and I couldn’t help but grin like an idiot and agree.

“Fight fire with fire.”

.:.The Glory of Ifrit.:.

A demon in popular culture said to embody fire. They are a kind of infernal Jinn mentioned in the Qur’an, but are most famously recognized in computer games and the fantasy genre. Ifrit is depicted as a large, flame colored being made of smoke (Though in games it has a quite solid appearance) that sports two horns on its head as well as wings. Its lower half is most often depicted as serpentine, though on occasion it can have legs and feet instead. Like before, it has control over the element of fire.

Ifrit are sometimes perceived as good, and other times evil. Majority rules that wicked and ruthless is often what they fall under. Ifrit can either be male or female, but they are usually depicted in the masculine form. Their appearances can be quite handsome and beautiful, or corrupt and monstrous. Ifrit can also be humanoid or bestial in the facial features. These demons are reported to be quite large. Ifrit are noted for their strength and cunning, but they are arrogant.

These demons dwell underground and also frequent ruins. They have a society structured around ancient tribal lines, complete with hierarchy, tribes, and clans. Ordinary weapons have no effect on Ifrit, but they are susceptible to magic. They are formidable and seen as rebellious for being below the level of angels and devils. These demons are not immortal, but can live for thousands of years. They can be caught by use of a talisman and spells. Ifrit have fire flowing through their veins and if cut, the flames would pour out until it has consumed them. Like the Jinn, Ifrit have free will.
