She picked at the piece of paper in her lap, folding away tiny edges and dropping them like snowflakes to rest around her bare feet. Her toes barely brushed the carpet, which was partially a testament to her small stature and partially the height of the armchair that had replaced her old parlor furniture. At least she no longer lived here.

That would be even more frightening.

Hae-min stood and forgotten shreds of the cheap white paper fell to join their brethren like so much salt. She looked down at the scrap remaining, mouthing the words she would have to teach the other Sin. It wasn't her desire, especially after the way Mr. Argyle had talked, but... She closed her eyes briefly and touched her lips with her fingers. After a sigh that seemed to come from someone much, much older than the young woman, she began to recite, practicing the Latin aloud in the crushingly silent room.

Truly she hoped Claire would arrive soon. All she wanted to do was go home.

Claire reached the building she was supposed to be at just before the four o'clock chime. Pausing at the door, she looked up into the vacant looking windows before knocking and pushing the door open. She stepped lightly, not wanting to disturb anyone inside more than she needed to, and shut the door behind her.

"Sorry for keeping you, I was having a time trying to coax Ifrit to come." She shook her head. "But he didn't. Nonetheless, I apologize. You must really not want to be here."

Claire stepped forward into the center of the room, trying her best to show an apologetic, yet friendly look on her face. It felt late, and she really didn't want to walk home in the dark.

"It shouldn't take long," Hae-min said, all business though her look and demeanor retained the strange sadness. "I'm just to teach you how to summon... Well, but... I'm not sure."

She held out the scrap of paper, hoping her handwriting had been legible. "You say it like this..."

After another deep sigh, she began to recite from memory. "Te Gladi, Vos Gladias, trea Nomine Sancto, Albrot, Micheal, Jehova elico. Estote meum castellumque praesidium contra omnium hostes, conspicuusque nonconspicuus, in quisque magiceum opum. Nomeno Sancto Micheal, qui est in imperium magnum, et his alio nomine: Cados, Adonai, Elohi, Zena, Oth, Ochimanuel, Messiah, Gladi in omnium meum negotia regnas et in illus res quem me resistunt, vincite.

"It sounds so silly, doesn't it?" With a nervous smile, she brushed at her long skirt. "That's what Lucifuge would like you to do, though. Did he tell you why?" Her look was curious, but innocent; both were cultivated feints, though. All she wanted to know was... would this hurt her friends?

Summon? Summon what?

Claire listened in on the Latin words Hae-min spoke, losing track of what the woman said two words after the second sentence. Claire made sure not to show her mounting confusion on her face but nodded in agreement.

"Yes, it does actually." At the mention of Lucifuge Claire shook her head. "I haven't been in contact with him, I know nothing. And truth be told, I'm confused. I was just told to come here. Summon what exactly?" Claire knew nothing of the Latin language other than the 'Micheal' but that was a name. "I am so lost."

She looked quite uncomfortable. "It is to summon a sword. A very specific sword, actually. Called... Durendal?" A moment, and then she shook her head. "It's said that it's indestructible, and won't harm anything save pure demons." Hae-min reached out and enfolded Claire's hands in her own; the Korean's skin was chilled. Not clammy: It seemed as if she had turned to ice. "I don't know what else to say. It seems as if I am to be left as much in the dark as you... Even though they know I'll never betray them."

"A sword?" That didn't sound too bad. At least it wasn't anything...Living. "Sounds a bit like Excalibur..." At the touch Claire looked down then back up at Hae-min.

"Your hands are like ice. Are you okay?" Deep down she did care about other people's well beings, especially those of women since she could connect with them better than men. "I understand and actually am glad to know I'm not the only one left stumbling around." Claire paused, trying to remember the words to that summon. After a moment she shook her head.

"Could I...Ask you for the paper you read off of? I really doubt I'll be able to remember all that Latin. With my luck I would probably summon something on the other end of the spectrum from that sword, and that could be bad."

"I'm fine," said Hae-min, though she had a vague feeling like she may not be soon. "I'll be better once I'm home." She folded up the paper and tucked it into Claire's hands. It didn't bother her to get the thing away; the alterations she had made to the incantation made it seem as if the paper had some kind of slime, and it would never come off---

She took a deep breath and smiled at Claire. "Don't worry. It'll only summon one thing, or it won't work at all."

She nodded at the part about being better at home before taking the paper and placing it in her pant's pocket. It would be safe there.

"Well that's good." She said, commenting on the last thing Hae-min had said. "I guess I should summon this blade once I get home huh?"

"Yes." The tiny woman straightened and turned towards the door. She had stepped over the threshold when she remembered one more very important thing. "Claire, its name, it's important. When it comes to you, on the blade, there will be a name. If the name is not 'Clarent', you must speak to Lucifuge straightaway."

But it would be. There was no other result.
