My O.M.G. Moment for the year is: My short story, my first e-book, is coming from Freya's Bower--- ---in 10 days. That's right, on the 19th. And, would you believe, this story's NEVER been rejected? It's called "What Flavor Are You?", and it's M/M. 'Bout 6000 words long. It stars two Wizards, and is set in Camelot, Avalon. And the theme is hot days and Popsicles. Yum. The link to the publisher's website is http://www.freyasbower.com/ in case you wanted to know. I am just so super happy. And to give you guys perspective, I'm 23. So I've got my foot in the door in a big way. Sooooo. Tell of your O.M.G. moments and help us celebrate your accomplishments. ~dora

That sounds AWESOME. *starry eyes*
Do WTF moments count as OMG too?
I ask because I have a hilarious rejected story story!
For Ycon 2006 I wrote this little original fic about a country doctor. I admit, it was pretty low-key and a little meandering. It got passed up for the anthology. OK, no biggie. Worse things can and will happen to me.
You know what DID get in though?
A ragingly OOC but nonetheless in universe Weiss Kreuz fanfic featuring Crawford and Ken.
Crawford. And Ken. Having teh buttsex.
Yeah... no.
I threatened to submit House of Leaves tentacle fic the next year. I didn't. But I still could.

Congrats, D.N. That's excellent for you. ^_^
Eh... I've had a tiny OMG moment today. I finally finished a short-story that I put away for over a month, and I'm rather happy with the end result. I want to submit it into a literary magazine.

Awesomeness!
I think mine was the first time I published ... Cause I found out the same day I walked across the platform to get my college diploma was the same day that the first books in my twin series, Betrayal of Trust and Roses and Shadows, were officially registered as published. xD
That was a nice day .. But promptly dampened cause my uncle died the day before -sigh- parents didn't let me know til a week later

I would rather pair up Neptune and his bony arch nemesis Val in nasty steaming chunks of coprophilic rape than have to read that. Gross. Oh, House of Leaves tentacle fic? I'd gladly proofread that sucker for free.

My OMG for today was writing 1215 new words on my Viking novella in 30 minutes on a Q10 programme, without editing. But yeah, accomplishing every little thing is good, no? Every day you write, even a word, is good.

D.N. Lyons- Thanks With Uncle, he had a myriad of health problems, but oddly enough it was a burst appendix that did him in. He called an ambulance when it burst, but sent it away because he didn't think there was anything out of the ordinary wrong with him when the pain eased. So, he died of toxic shock overnight.
My grandmother died in the last month also.. She had three strokes in the last two years, so the last just fried what was left of her brain. She was on life support for two weeks while they tried to see if they could save her. In her will she has a 'no life support' clause so they had to let her go. Grandfather's still rather shaken. Grandmother was helping me with selling my books and editing them. She was a wonderful woman and her death was a big blow both personally and professionally. But I'm still trying now.. can't stop even though she's gone.

Wow. . .
Okay. OMG moment. . .last semester when I finished the final draft of my novel Legion's Web. (Still working on getting a publisher).
Another when I realized, yes, it would be a trilogy. When the Common Threads series of insanity my roommate and I are writing together expanded to include over twenty five individual stories. No, I'm not exaggerating.
Another when I took a look at my unfinished projects folder and realized there was enough material there to write a book a year for the rest of my life sweatdrop
If I actually got around to writing all of them. . .and if I stop writing anything brand new. Which won't happen. I'm hoping to absorb some of them into each other. Or at the very least, fix the damn things into a finish state that's shorter than my usual length.
And that's it for now.

The O.M.G. moment of this year for me is I started writing something I have wanted to write for little over a year now. And although I am at a slow start I am sure once school starts and the boredom kicks in my imagination will run wild and i'll write till something breaks! xD Currently, I am brain dead-which isn't that bad-BUT it's not good while trying to write something.
My O.M.G. moment isn't as good as alot of yours but-it's all good. ^^ -Congrats to those amazing O.M.G. moments posted before me!!- mrgreen

I have yet to have anything that can compare to an OMG moment or WTF moment. I feel ever so left out.

I guess I've had a few OMG moments, but they're relatively simple compared to those posted before me.
When I realized that I could combine the Sci-Fi and the Fantasy novels I was working on separately to come up with a plot line so amazing I nearly shat myself, was the first one.
The second one was when I was siting in the diner with all of my friends and they all asked about my novel, and I explained the plot and characters and where I was stuck, and we all spent the next three-or-so hours discussing why I was stuck. Because of that night, not only is my plot better, but I created amazing new characters that make the story so much more believable and interesting.
The third was when I finally completed my entire outline for book one, and sent it off to my editor.
And the fourth is when I discovered how much I truly enjoy researching the universe. Totally thought black holes where, you know, holes. sweatdrop
I guess those are the major ones for me.
