Seriously, what is with the quality of RPs nowadays? They have gone way down since my first account. It's very hard for me to get interested in an RP now. It drives me crazy, because RPing is what I excel the most at. I've been so bored since I came back, that I've actually started going to the General Discussion! What is your opinion about RPs today?

I myself have never really cared for Rping, but then again, I have never given it much of a try. I'm sure that you will be happy to hear that we will be adding an RP subforum in this guild, and with all the declining of quality RP area as you have described, how about I leave you in charge of that forum once this guild gets moving. I'm sure that you, being a veteran at it, will be the best suitor to bring it to life and amp it up to the standards that you once knew.

Thank you, thats a very nice suggestion. And you should try it sometime, maybe find a nice little RP just to get the ropes. Your pretty literate, so you should do good at it. You just have to have some level of imagination.

I'm going to sound like a b***h in saying this but: I personaly never thought I'd be RPing on Gaia. I have RPed on many fourms and since they went down I never thought I'd get into again. I have gone in and out of RPs here on Gaia, each failing to hold my intrest for longer than maybe fifty posts. I find it harder and harder to make characters, keep the straight, and even stay attached to RPs like I used to be able to. Maybe it's becaus school is starting soon, I don't know exactly. I miss the proboards I used to RP on, their plot and other RPers were devine, I have yet to find one that makes me feel as home as they did. Though my seach hasn't ended.

Sorry to hear that D-chan. This guild isn't mainly an RP guild, but being a discussion guild will mean tons of literate people (at least I HOPE), which could lead to some great roleplays. Matacheib will be the lead Mod on the RP forums once it opens, maybe you and him could work together to create a great RP forum. With what you two say about the old RPs, it sounds like together you could just bring them back... though I'm not promising much until we gain many more members. Once the main forums are up, and I get a moderate staff of about 5-10 crew, I'll start advertising in the main Gaia forums.

Well Alex whatever you mean by quilities of rps is some what of a mystery to me. But I'm just going to make a straight guess and think of how demanding people are. Like literacy, it wouldn't hurt for people to write complete sentances, but to write almost 7 paragraphs in one post is a little upsurd. This will of course make the rp take longer and will soon disband and move on to the next one. Otherwise someone please explain to me what he meant...lol

lol, No Chris, that isn't what I meant at all. I'm not expecting people to post that many paragraphs, I just want them to at least write more than one line. While it's quicker to post with, in my opinion is slow that RPs down even more than big post, because it gives people less to work with.
By the quality of RPs, I meant how they're set up. I know that most story lines are used, as least try to post something semi original, if your going to make a vampire RP, add a little twist. And to me how much the profile demands, and the rules have almost as much of an effect on whether I join an RP or not. I'm not going to join one with really strict rules, because I can't always follow them all. But neither do I join an RP if it has like only a few rules. And I like my profiles to detailed, just as long as they don't want to know every single detail about your character.

Well its good that its 2 am here so whatever I say could be easily confused...but your right, most people should be able to write more then one sentance. Yes certain parts of the profile should be more detailed such as the biography, and otherwise it should be normal. What I mean is not to be so detailed that its stuck in our heads, I mean detailed as in we understand what is going on or what is the problem.

All of you have extremly good points. I have a guild that rps as well, It does help to have a good foundation, decent background, and tight but not suffacating rules, but unless you have dedicatied role players nothing works. (You can take a dog to the beach, but you cant force it to swim.) rofl
