Pokemon Event Game Spot: Clearing RP All you need to do is wait and then lure out a familiar, right? That's easy! Just be sure to remember that you cannot talk to the familiar, cannot bring any of your Kyn or other familiars with you, and are in a different clearing than anyone else in the thread at any given time. The mule will provide the RP for the familiars, and which one appears is decided by a randomizer. The ClearingThe area you've just entered is nothing more than a clearing in the woodss. There is thick underbrush at the forest's edge, and grass under your feet as you move away from the trees. There is a large rock, smooth on its top, about in the center of the clearing that looks like an inviting place to sit. There are a few flowers nestled among the blades of grass, clinging onto the sunlight away from the shade of trees. In the distance, you can hear the waves crash against the island's beachfront.
But what makes this clearing unique from all the others is that there are different types of familiars rumored to live around in the area. Are you in a position to befriend one for your own Kyn?Buneary, Pichu, Pidgey, Mantyke, Plusle, Minun, Noctowl, Taillow, and Pachirisu are the available familiars. Please note that this RP is run in conjunction with the Pokemon Event. To post, you must request to join the Guild - don't worry, we'll accept you!

"Whew..." DA tipped the rim of her broad hat back to wipe away the sweat that threatened to trickle into her eyes. This seemed as good a spot as any to rest: she had been hiking since early that morning. With a long sigh of relief the flightmistress sat with her back to the rock, settling her pack beside her, glad to be off her weary feet. This had been her idea, too see how far she could go on her own two feet. Ever since she had come to Crater Lake and found Kiko's egg, most of her travelling had been on the wing, unless she was making the trek to the human village. The masked girl took off her hat and rested her head back on the rock. Even now, more than a year and a half later, the humans were hostile to her flight. It hadn't really so bad until Lazulai had got it into her head to try and ease the tension. Honestly, DA thought, that one is going to give me gray hairs long before my time. The human didn't even need to look as she took her canteen from the pack, carefully pushing aside the flare that would signal an emergency to bring her flight and a few other essentials. DA weighed the bottle in her hand: she had been lucky to find one of the streams that fed into Crater Lake from the high rim a few hours ago, and the water was still cool. She made short work of the cap and drank slowly, closing her eyes to help savor the freshness of the mountain air and water. ((mule replied))

Ari paused in her walk as she took a moment to survey her surroundings. It was definitely unfamiliar, though something at the back of her mind was trying to tell her something... She snapped her fingers when she realized what it was. One of the villagers had said something about a peaceful clearing where they'd rested while traveling, and had happened upon small critters of some kind.
The brunette looked around slightly nervously. It was ridiculous to think something as small as the villager had described would attack her or jump her or something of the sort, but just in case... Her hand shifted so it was resting on the small dagger attached to her belt.
She hadn't thought she would need her spear for something as simple as finding some herbs so she'd opted for a small dagger instead.
"What am I doing?" she chuckled quietly at her own antics and eased out of her tense position. She couldn't seriously be afraid of what was probably a few cute, little bunnies. But she was curious now.
Naomi had been very detailed in her frenzied and excited description of what she'd seen. Ari, and several others, had been reluctant to believe it at first but now she could see for herself whether these small creatures actually existed, or if Naomi had just been exaggerating like usual.
Feeling slightly foolish, Ari slowly crouched to the ground. If anything she knew, small creatures were intimidated by anything taller or bigger than them. And try not to move too much. It seemed a bit like fishing, actually. Try not to disturb the area and not to intimidate the fish, or rather, the catch, too much and they'll come to you.
Of course, fishing had never been her strong point.

along the rode poke walked, holdong her backpack over her shoulder and enjoying the moring sunlight. It felt good to be out walking by herself; sometimes it was good to get some time to think, specialy when you had kyn that sometimes popped into your head for a conversation. She had heard a rumour that there were familiars bold enough to approach people, so she had set out to find one for herself. She always liked the small creatures that hung out with her kyn.
She had reached a small area with a rock that looked like a good place to rest, so she set down her back pack and leant against the rock, stretching some more and sitting down to give herself a break

Rowan bent over the game trail, lamenting the loss of her tracking skills. Over the past year and more, she had let the dragons do all the hunting, and her own abilities had begun to slip. She had decided to go out for a hunt, honing her skills, but now realized how much she had to catch up on.
Rowan examined subtle clues for signs of the deer's passing, a herd she had been following for the past few days. She has yet to pick out a weak link within the group to target, and she was starting to get too far from the den.
She didn't bring much food with her, although she knew that one of her Kyns would easily come and pick her up if she called. But the entire reason she came out hunting alone again was to remind herself she wasn't dependant on her clan!
Looking at a small branch that had been snapped by something brushing past, she guessed that the herd had come by an hour ago. But she couldn't be too sure of her estimate, so she kept her hand ready on her bow. She felt safe enough around here, far away from the Ridgeback and the Ferals that lived there. So unless if she ran into a bear, she'll be perfectly safe.
Rowan came upon a small stream and once again looked around to ensure she was on track. She could hear the sound of waves in the distance, and she knew this small river must drain out into the ocean. She followed the water upstream, keeping her footsteps silent though the movements of the water easily masked any noise she did make.
She'll catch up to the herd today or tomorrow. If she doesn't, she'll be forced to turn back, as the food she brought wouldn't last her.
As she continued, she heard the crashing of water up ahead. Soon after, she finally saw the small waterfall, about twice Rowan's height, the stream below it widened by the cascade. A clearing opened up to the side of the stream, and Rowan decided to sit on a rather comfortable-looking rock in the middle of the clearing and take a rest, but not before refilling her water skin.
She noted the wildflowers around and took care not to step on them, all the while looking around for hints of where the herd she was stalking might have gone.

You need a vacation, they had said.
Hah! Keely didn't need a vacation. Lounging around doing nothing was not only boring, but it went right against her nature. But if anyone spotted her in Sola Rio right now, doing her duties as usual, no doubt she would be told to go home. Instead of wasting her time she decided to seek out the strange critters that one of the travelers had mentioned when she had been guiding him out of the forest, after she asked where he was from and where he was going. He was seeking the creatures too, but then he had gotten lost in Sola Rio. Of course the adventurous Keely had been curious about the clearing too. Now that she had the chance to find it for herself, she was taking it.
She jogged through the forest, avoiding branches and roots with the ease that came with living in a forest. She heard water running nearby and turned in the direction of it. She needed to replenish her supply of water if she was to keep going at this pace.
Jogging to the stop by the stream, she discovered that just through the trees lay a clearing. Curious, she stepped onto the soft grass and took a quick look. There were others there too, and she wondered if this was the clearing she was looking for. She knelt by the stream and refilled her canteen before she wandered over to the wildflowers. They were an unfamiliar species of flower to her and she sat down in them, looking at the coloured petals and the shape of their leaves in an effort to identify them.

Kailind hiked through the woods, keeping an eye on the underbrush. She'd heard tales of odd little creatures that had been spotted in tha area recently, and had been curious enough to look into them. It sounded like the creatures weren't dangerous, so she felt perfectly safe going off to look for them without one of her kyn with her. Besides, every once in a while it was nice to get away and be by herself. It was a ncie day out, too; sunny and warm without being too hot, not too humid with a hint of a breeze. She glanced up at the clear sky, judging the time by the sun's position in the sky. It was still morning, so she had plenty of time to look for the creatures and still be back at the den by dark. She returned her attention to the forest around her, alert for any signs of strange creatures.
A while later she hadn't seen any sign of the creatures, but spotted a break in the trees up ahead. Having no better ideas, she headed for it, and soon found herself at the edge of a grassy clearing with a large rock in the center. A rock which actually looked like it'd make a very nice seat. Well, she suppsoed she could use a break, and this looked like the best place around for one. She trotted over to the rock and sat down at it, enjoying the feel of the sun-warmed stone. She gazed around the clearing again, noticing that there were a number of brightly-colored flowers dotting the ground. The place seemed rather idyllic, and like it'd be a good place to relax. Too bad it wasn't closer to home.

Luffy had always loved a good adventure so when had heard rumors about the little creatures in the area from the locals and travelers. He was automaticaly interested in going to the place in hopes to sighting the interesting little creatures. He aimlessly wandered in the forest. Luffy was well known for hopelessly getting lost a lot and the overabundance and density of the plant life in the forest was not helping at all. He had wandered in the forest for quite sometime now. Soon he found himself in a large clearing surrounded with trees with a large rock in the center of the clearing. He had brought food and water and thought this would be a perfect place to relax and eat. As Luffy was about to eat his food and drink his water he noticed that there was sounds coming from somewhere from the surrounding forest whatever it was its was pretty close to him. He perhaps unintentionally attracted something with the scent of his food. He momentary looked around saw nothing but felt as if he was being watched by hidden eyes. As he started to eat his food theres was a sound again it sounded like small footsteps but this time he payed no attention to it seeing that he was more into eating his food. ((mule replied))

The human hadn't been long into her drink when there was a rustle in the underbrush. It wasn't anything uncommon, except that the sound was getting louder, and the creature definitely coming closer. It hung out of the clearing, hunkered in the bushes, watching. Predatory behavior, actually, or behavior from an animal that had nothing to fear.

There were enough sounds in the forest when you were trying to hear something in particular - birdsong and squirrels rustling across branches. But there was definitely something a little more unique out there too - the sound of something small snuffling about in the dirt searching for a meal. From the level the sound came from, it wasn't very large at all.

She had been relaxing for a little while before there was a sound from up in one of the trees - claws scrabbling on bark. There was an animal of some description out there, but it didn't sound terribly large. The forest was filled with animals, afterall. What was one more noise to add to the mix?

DA's eyes cracked open at the growing sound as the human glanced around covertly through her lashes. She couldn't see the source...But she forced herself not to tense, not to act like prey. The flightmistress closed her eyes again in apparent nonchalance, evidently screwing the top back on her canteen while she tried to pinpoint her observer's location by sound. Whatever it was, it didn't sound massive, which ruled out bears. The simple fact that it made noise eliminated wildcats...Nothing she could percieve could give her a hint at what was watching her, though. But, whatever it was, it wasn't afraid, and that was rarely a good sign.
The thing that DA wanted to be sure of the most at the moment was a possible route of escape. Her back was to the rock, blocking the most obvious track. Slowly she pushed herself up so that she sat on the boulder's flat top. She would have a higher vantage that way, as well. Her pack stayed on the ground: only the emergency flare, her ever-present blade, and a smooth, almost raindrop-shaped clay instrument came with her. The sword, bright, sharp and slightly curved, leaned against her knee in its scarred scabbard: one quick move could draw it deadly steel. The flare lay innocuously behind her, also within reach should the worst come to pass. Only the clay flute, glazed in deep blue and roughly the size of her fist, remained in DA's hands. The human drew a breath, and brought the ocarina to her mouth, sending sweet, earthy notes dancing through the trees.
Music had calmed the savage beast before...Why not now?

An undignified squeak fell from Ari's lips as the sound of something rustling the leaves on the ground reached her ears. It sounded... like a rabbit... A frown appeared on her face as she tried to tell from the sound alone what kind of creature was approaching her.
Failing miserably, Ari resorted to... that.
It was something her dad had taught her, when she was a kid. She hadn't used the skill in a long time so she was probably a bit rusty but Ari was fairly certain she still knew how to do it. It had always worked well before, when she used it, don't fail on her now!
The brunette carefully sat down on the ground after quietly brushing away some leaves as not to make noise. Cupping her hands together, Ari brought them to her mouth before lightly blowing into it, wagging her fingers in a seemingly random pattern. Quiet twitters and chirp-like noises came from her strange finger movements.
A birdcall.
If it was a bird creature of any kind, it should lure the critter out slowly. If it wasn't... Well, Ari sorely hoped it wasn't the type of creature that would be afraid of birds.

The waterfall and the meadow was the perfect place for small animals in the forest - water and food provided by the surroundings in good abundance. In fact, there was one such small animal hidden behind the spray of the waterfall, watching Rowan as she looked around the clearing. If she looked closery, she might just catch a flash of muted gold color that wasn't normal for a waterfall at this time of day. The light and the water distorted the outline, but there was definitely something there.

A few feet away from where she had sat down, the flowers moved. Something was in that flowerpath with her, and whatever it was it was small and brightly colored - blending in nicely with the flowers. It didn't make a noise, having frozen when it realized that there was something large and potentially dangerous nearby.
