Name : Kinzoku Swood
Gender : Female
Age : 15
Year : Fifth
House : Slytherin

Ethnicity : British/American
Hair/Eye Color : "Kinzo's" hair is a very dark brown which looks almost black. She frequently wears it up so it's out of her face, but a few strands always seem to come loose and hang in her eyes. Her eyes are a light brown color that's nearly golden.

Pet : Kinzo owns an Oriental Bay Owl named Fuku which she received as a gift for her thirteenth birthday. Her parents bought him in Tokyo at the Japanese version of Diagon Alley. The trip to Japan was her original birthday gift, Fuku was an extra surprise. He is about two and a half years old and is frequently found perched on Kinzo's bag or shoulder.

Home Life :
Father - Jonathan Swood, British, 37, owns the publishing company which creates many of Hogwarts' textbooks. His company is one of the few that actually owns it's own printing preses and binderies. Jon used to be deeply involved in the actual printing of the books and working with agents or authors. After the birth of his daughters he chose to hire a few more people to take over some of this work so he could remain home more often. Jon loves books and reading them a trait which is evident in Kinzo. He also has a fondness for manga and has been to Japan several times. He is currently trying to incorporate the idea of magically moving photography into graphic novels through use of a special type of ink which would allow the panels to move.
Mother - Carrie Swood, American, 37, worked for Gringotts in New York after graduating from a small, private American School of Magic. She was promoted and sent to London where she met Jon. The two soon began dating and were married within a few years. Carrie also has a less intellectual mind than her spouse. Though she's no dimwit, she frequently gets lost in her husband's philisophical musings which frankly would be difficult for anyone to follow. She, like Jon, has a love of Japan which helped the couple bond though she has a personal fondness for fashion over art. Carrie is a devoted mother who wants only the best for her girls. She is constantly inquiring in letters to Kinzo about Hogwarts' standards and wants her firstborn to be the best she can be.
Younger Sister - Chiyo Swood, 9, is not particularly skilled in magic. She has exhibited very few magical traits and has only had one encounter where she actually did some form of magic. Carrie has been trying to tutor her daughter to coax out the magic within, but with little success. Chiyo is a bit jealous of her older sister who always seems to be better than her, even when she is compared to the nine-year-old version of her sibling. She also has self-esteem issues. Kinzo herself has not specifically tried to show up her sister, but because of her ambition to be at the top she has indirectly harmed her younger sibling's well-being.

Kinzo generally has some problems when she comes home for the summer or the holidays. She has issues with her little sister because of Chiyo's problems with magical skills. Throughout most of their childhoods the sisters were fairly close to one another, but once the gap between their skills emerged Carrie's criticism's got harsher and her praises got more extravagant. Because the former was focused at Chiyo and the latter at Kinzo the two grew apart over their differences. Jon has tried to calm his wife's worries about their youngest being a failure, but he has had no success. He does not compare his daughters' skills, but instead praises each on her own strengths. Jon helps keep the household from falling apart and has developed the skills to diffuse even the most heated situations. Kinzo enjoys her time at school more so than that she spends at home since she can completely avoid familial issues. They live in house that's a little larger than most which is styled after the Edo Period in Japan.

Diving deeper : Kinzo exhibits the ambition of a Slytherin through her wish to succeed at both Hogwarts and the workplace. She would like to take over her father's company when he retires, but to do so she knows she'll need plenty of business sense and intelligence. She has a fondness for both knowledge and books since they give her an edge over others. Learning is important to her both in a competitive sense and in an enjoyable one. Manipulation and arguing are two of her favorite things and she definitely enjoys being right. Kinzo has a very good memory which is great for debating and has a soft spot for animals. She really only fears being paralyzed or disabled in some way since she thinks she'd find an existence such as that to be limiting and potentially boring. Ignorant or stupid people annoy her to no end as do those who can't take a hint. Kinzo has a tendency to remain silent and reserves her words for when they are important. She'd rather observe and learn about others than tell them about herself. Because of this she has few friends, but knows plenty about people who may not even know her name. However she is friendly, or at least polite, to those who speak to her.

Taking a closer look : Kinzo yawned loudly as she woke from a rather pleasant dream. Her sleepy eyes moved habitually toward the clock on her beside table which stated in proud red numbers that it was 10:00 A.M. A second yawn accompanied the thought, "Only ten? I think I'll go back to bed." The fifth year flipped over and pulled her downy pillow over her head to block out the light pouring from the window. "Wait a second, ten o'clock!?" Kinzo rolled back over and grabbed her clock off it's stand. "Crap! I'm late." She flung off the large t-shirt she was wearing and rushed into the nearby bathroom to freshen up and dress. As she pulled her robe on Kinzo shoved the pile of books by her beside into her bag and ran out the door. From there she had several flights of stairs to take before she could possibly make it to the tower where her next class would be.

"I've already missed my first two classes," she thought out loud between her labored breaths. "Mother won't be too happy about that, but I'm sure I'll come up with some explanation for it. At least I didn't have to sit through that bore of a Herbology lesson. I swear one day a Monday morning will be the death of me." Kinzo despised Herbology. It just didn't interest her like other classes did.

"What were you saying Miss Swood?" asked a composed voice from behind her.

"Oh no! Not a teacher!" thought Kinzo as she turned to face the professor.

Good details. Specially with her interworkings. Your roleplay was very cute,
I enjoyed it. There isn't anything for me to point out for you to improve
on, so without further ado, enjoy the guild!
