✕ » » » Valenhart ♥ Academy ♥ for ( BEHOLDERS ) A long, long time ago the creatures that we now hear of and think of as myths and stories really did exist. These creatures were all bound to certain humans, their "other half." The creature and human were like soul companions, like one being split in to two. The humans that were gifted with this were called 'Beholders'. However, they were wiped out by an evil lord and his dragon, for the other humans (the non-gifted ones) feared these creatures and their great power. But what these humans didn't know was that not all of these creatures were wiped out. Their children, unhatched, lay in wait to be reunited with their "other halves." This was called "The Binding", for they could not be born until the other half of their soul found them. So they rested silent in their eggs until their other halves find them. That's the only time they may hatch, and their powers awoken within their other half. A painful process, to be sure. The creature becomes bound to its human spirit and soul, so they are the closest of companions. They are bound so close, they may talk 'telepathically' to one another, which means they hear each other's thoughts. They can block certain thoughts from the other, however.
Thousands of years later, some of these eggs found their way into the hands of some humans-- their other halves. The first human to rejoin with his other half, Alton Montague, sensed the danger in letting the humans and their creatures be known to the world; it would be the massacre of thousands of years previous all over again. So he built a school, Valenhart Academy, to house and educate humans once they have found their other halves.
But I warn against over exploring the school, for there are places here that should never be disturbed by humans-- or any living soul for that matter.

Believe me, you don't want to be in the same room with that guy for even a second. (He'll bombard you with cheesy jokes until you're immobilized with either laughter or desire to just keel over and die, then tell you more shitty jokes until you've wasted away into nothingness)
[i] When in this thread, I am the Ultimate Overlord of All Evil. What I say, goes.
[ii] Be active. Don't come and not post or come and post once or twice and leave.
[iii] Please, tell us if you're going away for more than two days.
[iv] Use size 9, 10, or 11 text, and italicize your character's thoughts. Color your character's speech and thoughts with your character's color, which you designate in the profile.
[v] PM me all profiles. Title the PM 'Valenhart'
[vi] Absolutely no godmodding, cybering, and the like.
[vii] Use correct grammar and spelling, chatspeak is a no-no.
[viii] Make your posts pretty. Put your character's picture, maybe some lyrics, etc. Some sort of decoration.
[ix] Romance is not just encouraged in this roleplay, it's expected. I don't care what kind of romance, but there better be lots of it.
[x] Cursing is acceptable, just not every other word.
[xi] I want romance, but I don't want the making of the babies. If it does even get that far, please either take it to PM's or time-skip to after.
[xii] As for post sizes, no one-liners. As long as it gives people something adequate to work with, and it contains no chatspeak and such, I'm okay with it.
[xiii] Our characters (not counting their creatures) are human. Their pictures should be human.
Don't let this roleplay die.
Also, don't pull the "She opened the door. She walked out of her dorm. She.." routine. It's annoying, and it heads straight for an auto-ban.
More rules will be added if necessary.

The Lobby
The Lobby was made to imitate that of Ceaser's palace. Filled with magnificent artwork, those with more intellectual interests will enjoy its beauty.
The Cafe
The Cafe is where you are served daily meals and where you may come to hang out and just get to know each other or do some work in a relatively quiet, serene setting.
Training Center
Perfect for those who want to practice fighting together with your creature.
The Infirmary
Alright, we need to warn you ahead of time that fights cause injuries, you aren't indestructable. As cool as that would be, it's just not possible. This is our infirmary; it handles sickness, minor injuries, broken bones. The usual. It is right next to the training room, of course.
Indoor Pool
For those who like swimming; it also has changing rooms branched off of it. It's open to both boys and girls, so it's probably not recommended for shy girls that don't want to show off their new bathing suits.
Boys' Dorms
The female dorms are designed for comfort, and the colors of curtains, sheets, etc. can be changed to suit the preferences of its inhabitant. There is plenty of room for both human and creature here.

The Libarary
Thousands of books rest on these shelves, including many ancient, hand-written tomes.

Designed in the interest of water creatures, or people who just like water; this is a quietly serene place.
Labrynith Garden
Designed as a regular, labrythine garden, it suits the interests of more land-bound creatures, or people who prefer their gardens this way.
Dark Garden
Designed for darker, more nocturnal creatures; or just people with dark tastes. It is always hauntingly silent here, and the thick darkness seems to swallow all sound and light.

Students may sign up within the first week of school, meaning from October 9th to October 16th. Sign up at whichever location the activity meets at. (I.e. the tennis court for tennis club) After-School Activities start October 18th.
Tennis Club: Located at a small tennis court just outside of the gymnasium. Starts at 5:00, breaks at 6:00 for a half an hour, resumes at 6:30 and ends at 7:00. Meets Tuesday, Wendesday, and Thursday.
Track: Located at the track field just beyond the tennis court. Starts at 4:00, ends at 6:00. Meets Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Literature Club: Located in the 'Creative Writing' classroom. Starts at 7:00, ends at 8:30. Meets Monday through Thursday.
Drama Club: For students in Theater or just interested in acting. Located in the auditorium. Starts at 4:00, ends at 6:00. Meets Monday through Friday.
The Study of Magick: For students with magickal abilities, or an interest in Magick. Located in the 'History of Magic' classroom. Starts at 3:30, ends at 5:00. Meets Monday through Wednesday.

Scribble doesn't really like to come out and say things; in fact, he's only ever had one girlfriend, and that was in fifth grade. He does like to write bold things, but he doesn't ever say them out loud.

Aylen's never been described as hot, because he's so short and has a child-like face. But he does have a sweet personality and a good heart.

Scribble is anything but graceful. His handwriting is awful, he stutters a lot, and he trips over his own shoelaces sometimes. He lets Amulet order him around a lot, too.

Aylen has a gentle hand and a soft voice, as he's unable to shout very loud. He is known for giving great back massages.

Scribble is extremely clever. He invented a mobile CD player when he was only ten and a half, and he loves to write unconventional stories. One of them was actually published in the town paper for its creativity.

Aylen is very OCD about order. He refuses to let his room go into chaos and is very tedious about keeping everything tidy and neat. There isn't a moment while he's awake that his bed isn't made. Every one of his stories is printed, placed in its own folder, and filed in his own cabinet.

She's very silent if she doesn't know you, not one to easily talk about herself but she's a very good listener, whether you're friend ot stranger.
She can sometimes come of as cold or shy though.

She's not exactly one to keep things in order.
If you take alook at her room, there's stuff everywhere on her desk and shelves and her personality is alittle ike that as well.
Trustworthy
She is one to trust.
If you tell her a secret, it stays with her forever and never leaves her lips.

(( We could post now, right? ))¤Ileena Cali Rubin¤  Ileena was sitting in her room. Despite it was still early morning she was awake. She hadn't slept well anyway and she liked to watch the morning sky as it couloured the autum leaves with it's golden light. She was entranced by it and at the same time she was lost in though.
Siren lay beside her, his dark feathers had a slight glisten to them, small crystals that covered him. Invisible to the eye but visible as light hit him. He was still asleep so Ileena remained silent.
She was leaning against the windowsill, resting her head in her palm as the sun slowly arose and gave the world it's golden colour back. Though, she could only tell the sun was rising because of how the light changed.
The sky was practically covered in light gray clouds, as any autumn sky would be and small leaves were moved by the slight breeze that seemed to be blowing.
Ileena sighed and kept watching, waiting for time to pass.

So he took her hand, and she held it tightly. The sun was setting against the soft blue line of the sea, casting shadows across her bruised and battered face. She couldn't speak for her swollen lips, so he leaned down and kissed her softly. She couldn't respond, so he breathed into her mouth, letting her know how much he loved her. And he felt her heartbeat against his own, reminding him of how much he was losing to someone he didn't even know. And she died that way, her lips against his, her eyes drifting closed, her heart one with his.
Only a moment later did he realize that his wife was dead.
Aylen Kolton Card scrubbed at his eyes, damp from the emotion of the story he was finishing up. He'd been writing it for years, and it was his favorite story; but for some reason, he'd been unable to end it. To give them a happy ending would be be like wearing a smiling face at the end of Romeo and Juliet; they just couldn't live happily ever after. He was such a fool.
Slipping his short legs over the edge of his ruffled bed, he slowly placed the soles of his bare feet against the carpet as he stood, and his too-long pantlegs puddled around his feet. Amulet, his burnt-orange half-soul duskfox, stretched luxuriously and walked to the end of the bed, flicking one warm tail around his bare arm, her way of saying good morning. He smiled and lifted her onto his shoulder- it wasn't hard; she was only a foot long and weighed no more than a few pounds. The sun was just now rising; he'd sentenced himself, through his story, to just five short hours of sleep, Sighing, he stretched his free arm- the one with his notebook in it, and padded to the window, which he opened and leaned out of, into the chilly morning air. I might catch cold. I'd better- no. I'm forcing myself to enjoy this. My blasted fears get in the way of everything. He breathed deeply in the morning air, clinging to Amulet's warm body, when he heard a sigh from the window next to his.
Ileena Ruben was leaning out of her window, the girl with the bird-thing that Amulet didn't like. He was shy around her, though- as he was all girls- and clumsy, so he decided not to say anything to break the early morning silence. That was too much to ask of Amulet, though- she squeaked meaningly at the girl, which caused Aylen to flinch and seize her muzzle. "Stop that." His quiet voice was nearly a whisper.

Classes start tommorow. Maybe it was her Orchestra class that was getting her nervous. She was often told she played beautifully, but she wasn't so sure. Every time she played, thoughts like 'I could be doing better' and 'I missed the tempo' ran across her mind.
Finally deciding she could not possibly fall back asleep, she glanced out her window. The sun was just rising, spreading a golden-pink glow across the horizon. "Come on, Cloud," she said, swinging her legs off of her bed and standing. "Let's go take a walk. The gardens, maybe?" The silver-white direwolf nodded, jumping off of the bed. Izzy walked over to her dresser, digging out some clothes and tossing them on.
Then, grabbing her violin case from where it lay on her trunk at the foot of her bed, she shoved her feet in to her shoes and walked out of her dorm. Cloud padded quietly after her. Exiting the dorm building a few minutes later, she glanced around. No one was, of course, out and about this at dawn. All the better.
Soon arriving at one of the gardens, named the 'Labrynith Garden' for its mazelike design, she sat on a stone bench and opened her violin case. There it lay, probably her most precious posession. Ever. The violin was made of a pale, almost bonelike wood, and so was the bow. The strings were of the finest quality, which only improved her playing. Picking up the precious instrument, she set it under her chin, holding the bow just above the strings for a moment before beginning to play. She played a song that reminded one much of Gypsies and dancing around the campfire; her long, elegant fingers almost seeming to fly across the strings as she played.

could be seriousKiba looked up at Alaster as he flew through the morning sky, after a while he whistled and the dragon landed behind him. He turned around and looked up at the dragon and smiled. "Well done Alaster, next time I will go up with you and see how it works out this time around," he said. Kiba turned from the dragon and looked forward at the Labyrinth Garden, he heard a faint sound coming from inside, he stood in place listening to the change in tempo, going from a slow sounding type of music, to a fast cheerful celebration type. He turned his head to look up at Alaster once again. "You think we should go check it out?" he asked as he turned back towards the Labyrinth Garden. "Indeed lets find out who is making this sound." Kiba took a second before he began to walk towards the source of the music. [Nice Job taking down your computer]

¤Ileena Cali Rubin¤ Ileena was caught in her own thoughts. She was thinking about home, how her family was doing, what they were doing. How her parents got along and how her siblings were doing in school and with friends. She was usually not thinking about such things, seeing how she liked her life at Valenheart Academy, but today was different somehow. The air seemed to have changed as well.
Ileena was rudely brought out of her throughts as she heard a mean squeak from the window next to her, followed by a silent voice. She blinked and looked over at Aylen and his duskfox. She didn't know why the fox seemed to dislike her and Siren. She tilted her head slightly as she looked at them "Good morning." she said, not very loud, seeing how the area was completely silent, not even the birds had started to chirp yet.
At the same time as Ileena spoke, Siren started to move around, obviously starting to wake up. The elegant, royal blue bird stretched it's wings as it sat up. Opening his jet black eyes, Siren turned to Ileena, seeing she seemed to be looking of to the window next door. He yawned and hopped over to her, buffing his beak against her arm before glancing outside the window, seeing that boy and duskfox that seemed to always be mean. He didn't know why though....
