Wow...
That's like the lowest form of Journalism.
As it's written on Brett Bart
The paper's decision to make the note public drew fire. The rabbi in charge of the Western Wall, Shmuel Rabinovitz, said publishing the note intruded in Obama's relationship with God.
"The notes placed between the stones of the Western Wall are between a person and his maker. It is forbidden to read them or make any use of them," he told Army Radio. The publication "damages the Western Wall and damages the personal, deep part of every one of us that we keep to ourselves," he said.
Another Israeli paper, Yediot Ahronot, published an article Friday saying it had also obtained the note but decided not to publish it to respect Obama's privacy.

That's a pretty nasty thing to do. I hope the kid who stole his note isn't part of the "Obama is a Muslim" crowd.

I heard about that!
I may not agree with Obama on many things, but I still don't think it's right to violate personal privacy when people become famous. I unfortunately haven't been to Israel yet, but is there any sort of security around the wall? (Or is it just easy to pretend like you're putting something in and take it out instead)

darkphoenix1247 (Or is it just easy to pretend like you're putting something in and take it out instead) That. It's supposed to be a personal experience not to be interfered with. Infact it's taboo to remove such things and read them.

He has Redeemed Me!Though I Though I know little about Judaism and Jewish Culture, I did know that the Western Wall was a very important part of the culture. And when I found out about this, I was offended. I may not be Jewish, but it does violate your relationship with God, and the Western Wall is an important, well, wall! I couldn't beleive that someone would sink low enough to take a persons prayer out of the wall...
Slightly off topic, why is the Wall so important? Aside from the fact that it is like, 2,000 years old? am undeserving, He gave his life for mine.

The Obama=Muslim crowd at my synagogue is using this as "proof" now that he hates Judaism, while it was a Jew who took it out. Stupid kid.
Mazuac, the Wall is so important because it is the only standing reminder of the Temple that Jews can visit. Whatever's left in the Temple Mount belongs to the Muslims, so the closest we can get to the holiness of the Temple is the Western Wall.

The whole Obama is a Muslim thing... There's an awful lot of Chutzpah on both sides of the field on this one. For example, the New Yorker cover art was supposed to satire this, however more people got offended than the New Yorker would of liked. Fact of the matter is this... It's politics through the internet. McCain has a pretty big uphill battle, Obama is young, charismatic well received by the press and media and has more gravitas than McCain can ever hope for. For example, Obama gives a speech to the American Autoworkers Union talking about Jobs in Detroit and the Auto Manufacturing Industry after GM records a 15 BILLION dollar loss in the second quarter. CNN, FOXNews, MSNBC and a few other major news networks show up. Three days later, McCain shows up to talk to the Auto Workers... and no one noticed. It's a bad scene when you're the republican candidate giving a speech, and the press doesn't even care. So... the internet strikes. I've seen many blogs that claim Obama, through one of his representatives GAVE Maariv a copy of the prayer to show his Christian faith, while others claim it was completely fabricated and that he is infact a closet Muslim. In truth, Obama is a Christian, either a baptist or a methodist but most likely non denominational. Religion in this presidential race matters as much to Obama as his skin color, It means NOTHING. It's all politics.

Otherwise, we wouldn't be outsourcing so many jobs, we would be drilling for oil up in Alaska, etc.
Also, thanks Slamuel ^^ I had always wondered why the Western Wall was so important, and now I know! Woot!

To be honest religion does come into play whether people want to admit it or not. And to be honest, Obama has made a lot of racist remarks about white people, and people who are not black, or part black. While McCain has not once brought race into this election.
I for one will not vote at all for anybody in this race. There are tons of reasons not to vote for Obama, just as there are to not vote for McCain. Either way the US is fcuked.

But in truth. This move then ever shows that the Jews of the world have the wrong impression of Obama, and that the ones that think he is Muslim need to admit they are wrong and say sorry to him.
What he did going to the Western Wall, praying with us, wearing a keypa, and respecting our customs is more than Bush has ever done. Bish only helped Israel because he wanted to stay where the oil is and wanted Israel for Jesus land.
What that rabbinical student did is a disgrace to all Jews. I hope he gets his @$$ kicked, and is not allowed to become a rabbi.

I wouldn't say Obama has made racist remarks. At least none that I can think of, his SUPPORTERS on the other hand... And Obama's gonna win anyway. He has popularity, regardless of political ideals.

Very true. I just hope, who ever gets elected, does the right job, and helps this country and it's allies out to become what it is supposed to be.
