Abacus slowly entered the room and poked his head in, looking around before stepping in. The last time he was there, he was dressed up... And the room looked much bigger than it was last time.

He walked into the room and waved to Grave, then felt foolish upon seeing that Grave was writing on the score board. Upon further inspection, he grinned at what was written. "Hey Grave!" He called, walking towards the older boy. "Thanks for taking up my challenge. I need all the practice I can get!"

"Oh, really? That's a shame!" Abacus replied, shaking his head in disappointment. "I've only sparred against Kallisto, and I've the bruises to prove it! Sparring's loads of fun. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of moves you'll pull," he grinned, then studied the board before nodding. "Looks good to me! Kallisto let me borrow one of her's when she taught me how to duel, and I liked them so much that I got myself a pair. Are you ready?"

The journeyman moved to the center of the room and took his place, studying his posh form carefully and thinking about how to start off.

Abacus nodded, then grinned. "All right, how about we start off with... this!" Abacus dashed forward and threw a punch at the academic, eager to see how he'd react. He didn't look as buffed as Kallisto... how will this fight turn out?

"Too fast!" Abacus gasped, turning his punch into an impromptu tumble forward to hopefully get out of the way. Instead, he tumbled directly into the academic's punch, leading to a flop backwards onto the floor. "Ooff!" He gasped, then rolled to one side and clambered onto his feet, taking a moment to regain the air that was knocked out of him.

Abacus activated his metaclaw-technoequip and flexed his fingers before jumping forward and throwing a punch, hoping to hit the now-moving target. This, however was timed too early -- the journeyman managed a weak hop before his arm flung out in a punch at Grave.

What was that?! Abacus' eyes flickered to Grave's hands as they twisted into a certain gesture. He had no idea what his opponent was doing, but it was obvious that it had an effect. Abacus swung around to face his opponent and raised his arms, attempting to block Grave's kick. He then kicked out with his own foot, hoping to strike his opponent at the same time.

But when faced with an opponent whose skill is speed rather than strength, Abacus found out quickly that he was too slow. The kick went through and the journeyman staggered back, greedily sucking in air before his legs folded beneath him. "An easy win, hm?" He managed to joke, grinning at the older boy and raising his hands in mock-surrender. "Whoo! Your moves are vicious!"

Abacus accepted the hand and laughed, regaining his feet and nodding in agreement. "Agreed! It looks like I have a lot more to learn about dueling, for instance..." He raised a hand and mimick'd one of Grave's earlier gestures -- the Guyan. "I noticed you made signs like this with your hand. What do those mean?"

Abacus shook his head in negative. "Not yet," he confessed, then grinned and added, "I don't think they're the only way you stayed in the fight. You have a mean punch! With Mudras, though... I take it different gestures focus your body's energy differently, and thus different results are created?"
