 Gintoki wandered through the woods. He stifled a yawn because he was so bored. He decided he should find a place to nap or a nice place to laze around. He wandered around until he found a small hole that was small enough to fit him comfortably. He trotted over to it laid down and closed his eyes.

Taichi wandered around nervously. Where were his parents? "Mommy!! Daddy!!" He shouted hoping he might find one of his parents. He didn't even know if he had a mom or a dad. Scared he sat down and hugged himself in a little ball shaking.

He opened one eye lazily. He wondered what he had just heard. Despite being lazy, Gintoki was very curious like other pups. He stood and stretched and trotted to the source of the noise. "Who's there?" he called.

Taichi heard something coming and peaked his head up,"Daddy?" He looked over to see who was coming. No... it wasn't his daddy... maybe it was a sibling! Come to find him... they were similar colors after all. "Brother?" He tilted his head and stood up excited.

He stared at the other pup in shock. He had a brother? He looked at the other dragonfly carefully. They did look similar and they both had the scale patterns.
"Who are you?" Gintoki asked slowly. Maybe he really did have a brother.

Taichi stared wide-eyed and got a little closer. "I think... my name is Taichi... I don't know how i know that though..." He scratched at his head with his back foot. "Who are you?" He suddenly heard something moving towards them and looked at the sound,"More importantly... WHO IS THAT?" He backed up a little startled. It looked like the other pup was ready to attack.

Gintoki looked at Taichi. "You think?" he cocked his head to the side. He wondered why the other dragonfly was unsure of his own name. "I'm Gintoki." he replied when asked what his name was.
Gintoki turned around to see another pup getting ready to pounce on them. Wary, he moved closer to Taichi. "Who're you?" Gintoki asked quickly.

Utsuri sat up and groaned in disdain, "Aww! How did you find me?." He then sighed and gave a goofy grin. "My name's Utsuri, and some day, I'm gonna be a famous explorer!" The pup wagged his tail excitedly, clearly oblivious to the other two's shock.

Taichi moved closer to the other pup as well and was frightened. He tried to hide behind the other white dragonfly. This new pup was brightly colored. Some how the orange on him made feel fear, like poison berries or dangerous insects. And his markings were wild. He thought the other pup might be a predator. "S-stay back!"

Gintoki breathed a sigh of relief. At least it wasn't an enemy. "Maybe if you were hiding somewhere we wouldn't have seen you." he cocked his head at Utsuri. "Explorer?"
Gintoki felt Taichi hide behind him. He wondered why he was so afraid of such an upbeat pup. He turned to him. "You okay?" he asked slightly concerned.
He looked back at Utsuri. "I'm Gintoki."

Utsuri looked at Taichi and Gintoki, "Yup! I'm gonna see the entire forest, maybe even the entire world! Pleased to meet you, Gintoki!" He peered around Gin to get a better view of Taichi. "Hey? Why are you hiding?"

Taichi looked around sheepishly. "I-I uh... I'm fine... I just want my mommy and daddy to protect and watch over me. I don't feel ready to go out in the world alone..." He whimpered a little. He thought about the other saying he would explore the world and it scared him. There were so many dangerous things out there and he was smart enough to know that pups were not able enough to take care of themselves. Surely there would be someone out there to take care of him and his brother.

Gintoki stared at Utsuri. "That sounds cool." He then turned to Taichi. As much as he hated to admit it, the black and white pup had a point. As a pup, they were not able to fend for themselves in the wild. Even though Di'jai might be peaceful, there could be predators lurking about.
"Maybe we can find someone to look after us..." he cocked his head to the side.

Utsuri looked at Taichi, then sat and thought a bit. It was true that it was a dangerous world out there, but that's what made it so exciting! He had a tough choice, to explore and see a bunch of new things? Or to remain with a care taker in relative safety. Then an idea came to him. "Hey! Why don't we look after each other?" Apparently the concept that three pups were not enough to survive many of the dangers of the forest hadn't occurred to him.
