One of the perks of roleplaying your otter is growth to the reknowned Elder stage. It takes a lot of RP for your otter to have enough knowledge to reach this stage! You should be prepared to do some hard work if you're gunning for this stage, and be very proud of yourself if you achieve it!
This thread will provide some further information for people trying to achieve Elder stage for their otter, as well as addressing some other questions about RP perks.
In addition, this thread is where you identify whether or not you want your otter to be considered for elder stage.
F.A.Q.
Q. How much RP do I have to do to get my otter to elder stage?
~ A. This is a secret; something Lumi will decide on a case by case basis. I'm not setting a specific number of posts or the like, because I don't want this to be a mechanical 'I made 10 posts gimme my otter' kind of thing. Elder stage is a reward for consistent RP. :3
Q. My otter is already an elder. Am I going to be perk-less? D:
~ A. Not at all. Obviously RPing your otter won't make it grow any further, but you'll be eligible for other perks, such as free familiars, free breeding slots, free item edits and maybe even a free clam or baby predator. There will always be perks for RPers.
Q. I have a predator, but there aren't any predator elder stages. Am I going to be perk-less? D:
~ A. Definitely not. See the question above; the answer to that is the same idea as for predators.
Q. I have an otter from before Lumi got the shop. I bet I'm going to be perkless. D<
~ A. No one likes a smarty pants. )< Also, regardless of when you got your otter, you can RP and earn the same benefits.
Q. I have a cosplay pet I like to RP, but I don't want him/her to be changed to different lines. But I still want great free stuff. Now what? D:
~ A. Well, there a couple of options here. You can be considered for the other perks mentioned above (you don't have to post anything for that - everyone gets that consideration by default). You might also be able to substitute another otter you own to grow instead. See more info below.
Okay! Listen up, 'cause this one is important. Sometimes, particularly with cosplay pets, people are very picky about the lines they choose for their pet. Those people may not want their otter to grow to elder stage and end up on different lineart than they originally chose. Understandable, no? So...
In order for your otter to be considered for growth to elder stage as a result of RP, you need to post that otter's name in this thread.
I will not grow any pet as a result of RP if their name is not in this thread, posted by the owner (or in the case of co-ownership, both owners). Not matter how much you RP your pet, if you haven't posted here I will assume you don't want it to grow off of its current lines to elder stage.
If you have a pet you RP a lot but don't want to grow, you can post that here as well, and indicate that you'd like to take advantage of alternate RP rewards (such as those mentioned in the F.A.Q.).
If you have another otter you don't like to RP, but might like as an elder 'sig pretty', you can also propose a substitution here. I.e. "I like to RP Jim Bob, but dangit, I spent soooo long nitpicking Jim Bob's design, I really don't want it to change. Buuuuut Sadie Marie... I don't want to RP her at all, but she might look spiffy as an elder. Maybe Lumi won't notice. ninja " Just fill in the appropriate part of the form indication any substitions you'd like to make. And stop trying to look like a ninja. D<
