‘Dear Kurios
Gone out tonight. Invited girl over, but can’t make it back. Make her welcome, don’t stare. Name’s Cindy. May have ideas about Kashya,”
Kurios read the note once again. So, it seemed his irresponsible roommate, had done something irresponsible again and he couldn’t help but wondered if Ryo would even attempt to make it back in time to see her. He hoped dearly that he hadn’t invited her over without questionable reasons, and that she wouldn’t demand thirty dollars from him for a ‘house-call’. Then again, he had said she might know something about Kashya. What did he mean by that? Kurios’s eyes glanced over to the door, where the dark headed girl was awake, reading, or playing in her room. He had invited her to stay in the living room, but she said she was fine in there. Her ability to speak English so perfectly was one of the first thing he’d noticed when she was first…born, hatched, arrived? He shook his head. Anyway, she was much more developed than a new born should have been at any rate. Placing the letter down, he strolled down the hall and tapped lightly on the open door to get her attention, she looked up from the beads she was stringing.
“We’re having company for dinner tonight,” He said brightly, trying to her enthusiastic. She seemed to think it over for a moment. “Do you know them?” She asked. What was it with her and wanting to know if he knew them already. “Well…not perse. But Ryo invited them,” again, that quick look of thought, before she smiled brightly, and nodded that she would be happy to have company.

Cindy, who was... Slightly nervous about this whole situation, pulled up into her destination, stereo ablazin', eyes full of curiosity and wonder to what she'd gotten herself into. It was an innocent enough invitation. Though... The idea of going over to some guy's house she'd met once...
But, it wasn't anything. He probably wanted to discuss the eggs most of all. "Well... I'm not exactly sure what's gonna happen, so be prepared." She said to the little boy in the passenger seat. Aesop looked up at Cindy, blinking and tilting his head. "Why are you nervous?" His question was simple, yet so hard to explain.
"Uh..." She fumbled for words as she parked the car. "I dunno. I guess it's because I've only met this person once." Aesop pondered this, but instead of asking another question, he left it be.
Today, Cindy had chosen to wear her usual top hat. It was her favorite hat. Her cherished hat. Hat of all hats! Her wardrobe was back to red and black stripes. She look like she'd been pulled out of a modern day Jack the Ripper novel. And Aesop matched her well with his white and black striped jacket.
As they both hopped out of the car, she locked it and made her way up to the door, Aesop sticking close behind. She looked around a little before actually making her presence known. Making sure this was the right house and all. "Here goes nothing." She mumbled quietly as she knocked on the door.

The knock on the door alerted Kurios to that fact that his guest had arrived. “Thanks for the early warning Ryo,” He muttered sarcastically under his breath, moving away from Kashya’s room and towards the front door. She had arrived so soon, he hadn’t even the time to prepare something. Oh well. She was here after all, and he couldn’t just turn her away. As they say he thought. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.
Kashya too seemed to hear the knock, and quickly got u of her floor. The carpet cushioned the ‘thud’ of her feet as she paced about quickly putting away what she could, except for her beads of course. And she followed Kurios into the lounge room. He was peeking through the curtain and at the front door.
“And I’m supposed to not stare?” He said, not realising Kashya was in the room. From his small break in the curtain, he could see the two standing at the step, she was wearing a top hat, yes a top hat. In this day and age. Besides was a young ward. He used the term ‘ward’ as opposed to ‘child’ because the way the pair where dressed, it seemed more like they had stepped right out of old London. Bring on the fog and sewage drains. But all the same, they looked…harmless.
The curtain fell back as he let it drop, and he put on a pleasant smile as he opened the door to greet ‘Cindy’ and he companion. “Cindy, right?” he said opening the door to her knock. “Sorry to have taken so long to get to the door. Just trying to clean up a bit,” He stepped aside, allowing them room to enter.

Cindy smiled as the door opened, an unfamiliar face almost catching her by surprise. But she remembered that he had a roommate. "That's me." She commented and gave a nod, stepping in carefully. Her eyes automatically started darting around the new area, taking in the new sights and smells. She loved going to new places, but felt nervous all the same.
Aesop followed Cindy in quickly, having about the same reaction of being in a new place. Something about this place. He couldn't quite put a finger on it... Something... Similar perhaps? Perhaps. His red eyes looked up at the man who's house they'd so kindly been invited into. He said nothing, but looked like he was examining him.
Cindy turned back to the man, smile still glued on her face. "It's nice to meet you, though... I can't say I know your name. It's probably been told to me, I'm just not too good with them." A nervous laugh followed her confession. Lessee.. It started with a... C? A K? She usually remembered people by their face instead of their names.

Personally, Kurios was surprised that Ryo had mentioned him at all. The fact that he didn’t actually own the house he lived in, was something he hardly mention to lady friends of his. “Kurios,” He confirmed for her, offering a hand. “Would you like a drink or something?” As he used his head to gesture in the direction of the kitchen, he noticed the white headed boy floating around Cindy, appearing just as curios as her. “Wow, Ryo usually doesn’t pick up girls with kids,” He said in surprise leaning to the side to look at the child more, before actually realising what he had said.
Little boy black was certainly something interesting to look at, or so Kashya thought. She had found the red pendant he wore very eye catching when she first saw him, and was continuing to observe it and its wearing while he looked about. She sat on the lounge with her back up straight. She wasn’t paying much attention to what Kurios was saying, but she imagined it was just simple formalities. Funny though she thought. He didn’t look like ‘normal’ kids. From what she saw or read. ‘normal children’ wore colours and had blonde, brown, black or red hair. White was for older people. And none of them ever had red eyes.

As she heard his name again, Cindy automatically remembered thinking how strange a name it had been. She gave a smile and shook his hand. "No, that's alright." She said in response to his drink question.
Though, his next comment gave her extreme mixed emotions. "W-what did you just say?" She asked, looking a bit shocked. She didn't know weather to be shocked about the 'pick-up' part or the fact that he actually believed Aesop was her child. She folded her arms. "First of all, I'm not some tramp your friend picked up off the streets. Second of all, are you daft?" The question wasn't to insult him, but certainly a boy with white hair, red eyes, and pointy ears would set some sort of alarm off. Her cheeks were red as the stripes on her jacket. Men. They just didn't have a clue...
Aesop scratched his head and watched Cindy for a moment before feeling the eyes upon him. He very quickly spotted a new face. His eyes didn't seem to change, but a little smile did glide across his lips. He casually walked up to her. "Good evening." He greeted. "My name is Aesop. What might yours be?" He certainly spared no time with introductions. Probably from hanging out with Julien. The kindness had rubbed off on him... Not that it was a bad thing.

What! No, he hadn’t meant it like…oh crap. “I didn’t think you were a tramp!” he said trying to back paddle. “ But Ryo…he doesn’t normally brings girls he for another reason!,” Of hell. “ Not that he invited you here for that reason,” Wait, hang on! “Which doesn’t mean to say he didn’t think of you that way, because you’re very pretty!” Even as he talked, Kurio could feel the giant hole he was digging for himself grow deeper and deeper. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and all that. As for the boy, well….there was no talking his way out of that. It had just been his sheer assumption.
His forthcoming attitude had defiantly not what Kashya had pinned for his personality. His name was one like she had never heard before, and for some reason, that made her like him just that little bit more. All the same, with a slight reserved shyness she gave her own greeting. “Kashya,” She said, addressing her reply at both Cindy and Aesop. “Would you like me to show you our house?”

Oh, Cindy could've gotten madder. She could've exploded in his face for being so indecisive and trying to talk his way out of the mess.
But she didn't.
If anything, she couldn't help but let out a little giggle as he tried to make her understand that he just hadn't been thinking. He was one of those guys. Unlike his roommate, he was anything but a smooth talker, apparently. The more he spoke, the more comical the situation became, though her blush returned at the mention of her looks. "Woah woah. Calm down. It's alright." She tried to show him the fact that she wasn't about to dwell on it. A sigh escaped her lips as she stood back for a moment and tried to make up for her previous outburst at the poor guy, until she noticed the girl.
She was... So pretty. "You didn't strike me as the father type." Cindy commented, paying him back for the kid comment with a smirk. Could that have been... The egg Ryo was talking about? The way Aesop acted and the way she spoke sure made it seem so.
Aesop blinked at the girls sudden offer of a tour. Actually, he'd like that very much. "If you don't mind showing me..." He didn't want to impose on her, of course. But he would like to see more of this new place.

Her lack of explosive anger certainly took Kurios for a shock, and even as she was trying to ease his own mind, he was still awaiting the after shock. But it didn’t come. So…Ryo really had chosen her because of her personality. Maybe the guy was getting soft? He chuckled dryly at her comment about Kashya being his daughter, secretly finding a happiness in those words. He liked that, thinking he was her father. But he didn’t want to ruin whatever image Kashya had of him in case she felt different. Maybe when she was older. “She’s not technically mine,” He said, almost feeling like he was betraying Kashya by saying so. “I believe you’ve met Ryo, her legal guardian, I suppose one might say. I’m just the twenty-four hour baby sitter,”
Kashya gave a timid smile, hopping off the couch with a light skip. She took his hand, as Kurio did when he was showing her something, before moving to head towards the first room. “I can show Aesop around right Kurio?” she said, stopping to see permission. He nodded, glad to see her finally acting a bit more child like, that girl was far too quiet for a girl her age.
“This is the lounge room,” she said, pointing quickly to the room they were in. “Here, I’ll show you the kitchen,” with that, the two littlest members of the room disappeared. The kitchen wasn’t the largest room in the house, and it certainly wasn’t the most modern, but it had everything a kitchen should. Microwave, counter, fridge, stove, oven. All slightly out of date of course. “It smells so nice in here once Kurio starts cooking,” she added in a off handed tone.

The 'I suppose' is what got Cindy thinking about the girl. She glanced at Kashya, then back at Kurios. An inquisitive look overtook her face. Her eyes were looking nowhere in particular. Sure, there were plenty of possibilities. She could've been adopted... Though Cindy doubted that in the highest degree since Ryo sure as hell didn't seem like a guy who'd want that. He also could've been a Godfather... but she figured he would've mentioned something about that the first time they met. So... With those options out, she decided to ask.
"... This is going to be quite awkward if the answer is no.." She started, her eyes returning to Kurios. "But uh..." Might as well just come out with it. "Did that girl hatch from an egg?"
Aesop seemed a little surprised when Kashya grabbed his hand and started dragging him around. It wasn't that he minded.. Just caught him off guard, he supposed. His eyes glanced around the room as she spoke of where they were, but they were mostly focused on her. What a curious girl she was. He'd never actually met a girl his age, so it was... Interesting.

Kurios’s face lit up in a grin. Not nearly as corny as Ryo’s was, but he seemed genuinely happy she had asked. “Yes,” he nodded. He could just imagine the sigh of relief she would breath out, knowing that he wouldn’t think her crazy. “A pretty blue thing, with floating white wings,” He said casually. With the two little ones gone, he realised they were standing, and gestured to the nearest set of chairs. Pulling one out for her, and sitting in one close to it. “You can’t tell by looking at her, but she only just hatched a few days ago. Talks and looks like she’s eight though. Did Aesop come out like that as well?” Even kurio’s had to admit, his tone and attitude was far more calm than he was feeling. In all honesty, he was jumping inside. Luckily, Mir’s warning about their being another two children had given him sometime to getting used to the idea of Kashya not being the only one. What was their names? T-something and Ae…Ae…Aesop! That was Cindy’s little boy right! “You know Murielle!?” He exclaimed. Acting more surprised that they had a similar acquaintance than the discovery of Aesop.
“And this…” She gently gave him light tugs into the next room. “Is this study,” The room was slightly messy, and held a moderate sized bookshelf, computer, desk and other office like things. A pen, paper and envelope where neatly left in the center of the desk. The final stop was in the hallway, from here they could see Cindy and Kurios again. It wasn’t a big house, but it was perfect for the three. She pointed to the three doors which lined the hall, naming each one. “Kurios’s room is just opposite mine which is to the right, and Ryo’s room is on the end,” she finished.

As expected, Cindy did indeed let out a sigh of relief. As Kurios described the egg, she seemed to recall hearing an almost identical description from Ryo. She gave a smile as he pulled out a chair for her and took a seat. Carefully, she removed her tophat and sat it on her lap. Her fingers running through her hair as they usually did after removing one of her cranial decorations (lol, I totally just came up with that). "He sure did. It was pink-ish, with a red crystal smack dab in the middle. The wings, unlike Kashya's, were more dragon-like. " That was the best way she could possibly describe it. She knew that the wings had resembled Mir's from her chat in the park. Wait... Had he just mentioned Mir? "Y-yeah. I know Mir. I'm guessing you know her too then?" Well, that was quite a coincidence.
Aesop snapped to attention as she tugged on his arm, his eyes glanced over the room with more interest. "It looks a lot like the main room of our house." He commented. He still didn't realize that the more proper term was 'apartment' because Cindy usually just called it a house. As she finished explaining who's room was which, Aesop smiled a little. "You have a very nice place." He said this not just because he enjoyed new places, but because well... It was a lot bigger than where he lived.

He nodded. “And Julien,” He thought over what Cindy had said, noticing as she combed through her hair. It was longer than he had thought it would be and he was surprised he had missed it. Probably because of all the black. But he left his thoughts to sit on her comment on the different shaped wings. “Dragon…like?” He asked. That was rather contrary to Kashya’s angelic ones. “Do you know if that has any…significance?” Maybe it had to do with Aesop’s behaviour. Then again, he couldn’t see the little boy behaving horribly to Cindy.
Kashya tilted her head as a thanks, even at her age she knew how to receive a compliment. “What’s your house like?” She asked with curiosity. Absently, she began walking to her own bedroom, not wanting to continue walking around the house and unintentionally eaves dropping on the conversation between Aesop’s ‘mother’ and Kurios.

Ah. So he'd met them both. Well, it was good to know that he wasn't completely in the dark... Just about as lost as they were, though. "Significance? Mir and I pondered the same thing when we first met. Apparently Julien's egg also had feathery wings." She shook her head. "You'd think the evidence points to good and evil, angels and demons... But..." She frowned. "Aesop isn't evil. He's just your average boy... Who hatched from an egg and grows like a weed." She added in a joking tone. "Though, I myself have never believed in being born good or evil. I always thought it was the way you were raised that decided your fate in the world." She still wasn't sure what that made her in the world. "The only clue I was given was the word 'ashe'... Which makes sense, since the egg smelled distinctly of ashes." Oh yeah, she'd just earned the title of captain obvious. That's when Cindy's eyes seemed to widen at a realization. "You know, I was so into this conversation that I forgot to ask... Where's Ryo?"
"My house?" Aesop questioned back to her. "Well..." He began, following her without questioning where they were going and why. "There's a television and a computer in the main room, along with a microwave, a stove, and a fridge to the side... Then in the sleeping room there's a bed and lots of books. And there's the bathroom... That's about it." He shrugged. Not really much to brag about, that's for sure.

Ah yes, the scent of Ashe. The smell so strong in his little room, It had almost choked him to death. “That’s what it would seem…but it may mean something else. Sin or virtue maybe. Or just an alignment. Not all those who serve evil, are evil themselves and all that. The world is made of both Good people doing bad thing, and bad people doing good after all,” He laughed, trying to shake off the serious course of the conversation, glad that Cindy changed the subject to Ryo. “No where unsuitable for children’s ears,” he assured her. “ But I really couldn’t say. The only reason I know it’s not for…adult reasons, is because he didn’t take the car. Just the bus. That way he doesn’t have to pay me petrol,” He laughed. “Cheap bugger,”
“Oh,” She said, for lack of something else. Though she tried to think of something better to respond. Daintly, she sat on the floor, picking up the activity she had been doing before Aesop arrived. Beads of varying colours where put in small boxes on the floor, laying next to a half completed string set. They were of course, far too big for a child to swallow or choke on, just showing how careful Kurios was with her. She offered some string to Aesop so that he could as well. “Do you know how to?” She asked, not sure what kind of boy she was dealing. From what stories she had read, the boys where always the silliest ones, and she didn’t know if he would want to anyway.
