Information
Name: Shrilyn Auvryani Meaning: "Silent Assassin" - "Blood of the Widow" Hometown: Llurth'Dreir Age: 75 Height: 5'8" Weight: 160 lbs Hair Color: Cream Eye Color: Amber Skin Color: Back with grey shading Weapon: Bow and Arrow
Personality: Shri takes her position as an archer very seriously. Too seriosly some say. She practices for hours at a time, in all areas of archery. Should she make a mistake she demands punishment from her instructors. But not all are willing to give it. If it is not harsh enough in her mind, she will punish herself even more in the form of self-whippings, starvation, or even harder training. She sees her weapons like her children, even talking to them as if they were alive. She can always be found cleaning or preping her weapons and also at the practice range. She always enjoys a good hunt, be it for food or for other drow.
Update: Shrilyn has recently made herself Matron of her house and thus she is now more serious. Her sole purpose now, other than serving the Spider Queen, is to raise the rank of her house.
History Shri was born to the Head Matron of her house as the second daughter. Her older sister was a dedicated priestess to Lloth and her mother was constantly comparing the two. She constantly strived for her mother's attention by trying to be more perfect than her elder sibling. But Shri had no skill for magic so she was trained in the warrior arts instead of becoming a priestess. When the time came to choose their main weapon, she decided against the heavy axe or cutting sword. Instead she found the bow and arrow up to her perception of perfection.
Update: Shrilyn has graduated from Warrior School and has returned home. But that wasn't the only thing she had done. Just before her graduation she killed her sister, then waited for her mother to come after her. Once the Matron appeared, Shrilyn killed her outright and claimed the Matronship for herself. Now she is trying to form an alliance with a higher ranking house to increase her own house's standing.
Likes Hunting Practicing Cleaning her weapons Finding new componants to make her weapons better Making sure the best weapons are produced by her house.
Dislikes Laziness Doing things half way People thinking less of her because of her weapon
Hates Anyone who is not a follower of Lloth Not being perfect Cocky males
House Status: The House of Auvryani is not a very high ranking house. They are more known for their amazing blacksmiths. They are well known for making some of the most deadly and destructive blades in area. More than once a higher house has attempted to take it over, to gain the smithing skills of their males, but each time they are swept back by the small yet powerful warriors that guard the house.
Until now, her house has been kept at a lower rank due to the ineptitude of the matron. But now that Shrilyn has taken over, she already has plans to raise her house's standing and make the Auvryani a household name for weaponry and metalsmithing.

Drow In Her Life
Family Alakune (killed by Shrilyn)- Shri's older sister and the Matron's favorite. She is a priestess-in-training to the Goddess and loves to rub her position in her younger sister's face. They are the only girls of the eight children of their mother. Shri hates her sister with an undieing passion but never shows it outwardly.
Gel'driira (killed by Shrilyn)- Shri's mother. She is overly proud for someone coming from such a low ranking house but many come to her for the mercenaries train in there. All weapons are hand made and deadly. She sees her eldest daughter as a ticket to a higher rank. She sees her second daughter with contempt as she has no magic skill. Shri hates her mother as well and is constantly abused by her.
Younger Unamed brother - Shrilyn keeps this male close to her and constantly makes sure he is well taken care off. He is the only male allowed free reign in the house.
Friends None yet
Acquaintances Baen'duis, Valyrr - An interesting male. He comes from a house known for their worshop the goddess. It is unconventional, but his house's training will help me achieve my goal of perfection.
Baen'Duis, Shrisin - The sister of Valyrr. She and I have begun a correspondance that will lead to great things for both our houses.

Miscellaneous
Bow and Arrows Shrilyn uses specially made arrows in her attacks. They are tailed with the blackest feathers from the high soaring birds. Shri says this gives them the silence they need and the need to seak out the dead or soon to be dead. Their wood is painted black for maximum stealth. The tips themselves are made by her own house and are serated for real fun. They can dig into flesh the more someone tries to pull it out. The bow is made of a strudy wood with a strong string. She keeps it well oiled and tightened to the proper strength.
Abilities Shrilyn is an accomplished archer despite her own perception of her skill. She can fire rapidly at her target or take her time for a true death strike. Some say she can even shoot with her eyes closed, merely listening for the heart of her victim then shooting at it. But no one has seen her do this

Shrilyn sharpened her arrowheads in the dark as she sat in a cave near the priestess school. The glint of the stone against metal made her smile, something she rarely did and made her look even more scary. Ever since she knew she was graduating from the warrior's school she had planned her movements carefully. Now was the time to act, now was the time to put her plans into action. For many years now, she had carefully begun to lay her trap. She had taken leave of school for awhile, having never done so before her teachers were more than willing. They all suspected she had some things to wrap up before her graduation as the top archer of her class. Oh how right they were. She did havce a few loose ends to tie up.
Blood red eyes gazed at the large structure before her. She had already done a sweep of the grounds. Merely walking by it as just another traveler but secretly making note of all entrances and openings. Her target was inside, most likely blathering on as if she were worth a damn. Those red eyes narrowed as she thought of her sister, so full of herself as she had been choosen to go to train while her little sister was shipped off to warrior camp. She was shame on their house, no HER house. The house had long fallen out of favor with Lloth and Shirlyn planned to bring it back into good standing. Even if it meant a bit of Auvryani bloodshed. Yes, shedding the blood of her own house to appease the goddess. That is what it would take. She knew it. All her sacrifice, all the years of torment would be worth it for bringing their house back into the goddess's favor.

Now she was inside, hiding from those walking past. She would stick out like a sore thumb in this place if she were seen. While she was no assassin she was quite good and walking quietly. Archers had to move quickly and silently to get into proper position. The hand to hand warriors would help with destraction but she didn't have anything like that. Nor did she have any idea where her sister was. But she knew where she could find her eventually. The black clad female crept to the dormatories where the trainee's slept. It was empty right now, as it should be with all the females practicing their art. While this may not be the best place, for distraction and witnesses were a big possibility, Shrilyn had taken percaution to make sure she would not be seen. She didn't want to be found out......yet.
All the dorms were four bedded rooms, each with their own dresser for their stuff. Shrilyn found the perfect place to wait for her sister, whom she knew would be coming up sooner or later. From her informants she knew her sister had a habit of skipping out of class early. Now it was a waiting game. Waiting for that b***h to show her egotistical face. For so many years Shrilyn had endured the physical and emotional pain of her sister's teasing and abuse. How this woman became a priestess she would never know, she suspected their mother bribed someone higher up with a lot of money and a few good blades. But now.....to wait....

"Oh please, as if the teacher will care. Lloth knows I am a loyal worshipper so why just sit in class. I mean there's more to this than sitting in class," a female voice laughed up the stairs. "I'll talk to you later, I've got some studying to do."
Shrilyn glared at the door, just hearing her voice was enough to piss her off. But she had to wait...she had to make her move at just the right time. She watched as the door swung open and Alakune entered. She didn't notice the hiding woman, so she closed the door behind her and took a seat on the bed. Shrilyn moved every so silently over to the door and locked it. That was a sound that Alakune heard and turned.
"Who's ther.....Shrilyn?" The female blinked as the visage of her sister met her eyes. She was the last person she expected to see in this place. After all this was the loser of their house. No magic abilities, merely a grunt. She tossed back her white hair and stood up, her ego swelling as she spoke. "What are YOU doing here? Fail out of that stupid little warrior school of yours?" Her sneer returned, the same sneer she always had when dealing with her younger sister.
"Hardly, in fact, I'm graduating at the top of my class. But I have a few things I have to take care of. One of them....being you." She took one step forward into the light. This revealed her bow in her hands, an arrow ready to be knocked. At the end was a very special arrow head, one Shrilyn had ordered special from her little brother.
"Me?" Alakune looked confused for a moment then it came to her. She stood up, anger spreading across her face. "You little brat! How dare you threaten me? ME! The future matron! You think that mother will allow YOU to be matron if I'm dead?" She held up her hands, ready to cast a spell.
"No sister, she will not make me the next matron. I will make me the next matron. You are nothing but a disgrace, and so is she. So to please Lloth, I remove the disgrace of our house. Starting....with you."
There was a silence as magic coursed through the air then the soft twang of a bow string. The magic disappated but no body feel. No, it was pinned to the wall. Now a normal arche would retrieve her arrow if it was not harmed, but not this time. This time, she snuck out of the big training school, leaving her dead sister pinned to the wall. The first part of her plan was complete, the arrow was the second. Lets see if the third would fall into place just as she wanted.

The news had spread, a priestess-in-training had been killed in her own room. The whole school had suddenly locked down but Shrilyn had already left by the time her sister's body had been found. The local town was in an uproar. How could an assassin get into the school and kill a female in her own room? Would there be more killed? Was it a plot by nonlloth worshippers? So many questions and no answers. All that was left at the scene was the arrow that was sticking out of her chest. It looked custom made so they were hoping they could figure out who made it. Word had already been sent to her mother, it would take her a few days to get there.
The moment her mother saw the arrow she would know exactly what happened. And that was part of the plan. Shrilyn had to leave, she had to get back to school to get ready for the next part of her plan. She took the quickest caravan back to her school and began to prepare. The murder of the priestess in training had already spread back to her school and everyone was curious as to what happen. Everyone had an idea or a theroy, from the elder warriors saying it was an assassin while the younger recruits spun great tales of secret cults.

Her informant looked nervous in the viewing pool. Shrilyn's glare was very frightening but the female had nothing to worry about. All she wanted was the report on what had occured when her mother had arrived at the school upon hearing if the death of her daughter. Her movements would dictate the next course of action, though Lyn was quiet sure she knew how her mother would react. "Well, out with it. What did you see? What happened?"
"Y-y-yes ma'am," she winced back. The female was merely a servant in the school but had suffered enough abuse to offer information to anyone who asked. She had actually been the one to discover the dead trainee's body so she had to present when Lyn's mother came in. Any detail she may have seen could lead to her killer because it was so rare to see a murder so deep within the school. Only someone who knew the grounds and knew the trainee's schedule could possibly do this. She was questioned in detail about anything she had seen the let gol, but she stayed hidden to watch the matron's movements.
According to this little spy, the matron was beside herself with both grief and anger. She had demanded to know what had happened and blamed the school's lack of security for her daughter's death. As always, she spouted off how great her daughter was and the favor she had been destined to bring to her house. Her sister's body hadn't been touched, allowed the mother to look for any tell tale sign of another's house's work. That was what Shrilyn wanted to know. Had her mother figured out who did it and did she tell the school?
"Go on, give me a full description. Spare me no detail!"

Lyn looked over her notes from the informant. Her mother had come in with a flurry of anger and disbelief. Upon seeing her daughter pinned to the wall she had flew into a rage, demanding answers from everyone in the room. The elder priestesses had attempted to calm her down but there was no end to her fury until it had been spent. Once she had spent her anger she examined her daughter. There were no wounds, meaning her daughter hadn't fought against someone physically. Lyn had made sure not to touch her sister, out of sheer disgust of her and it would leave to many tell-tale signs to those she didn't want knowning about the killer.
The priestess said there was a magical resedue around the area, meaning the priestess trainee had at least gotten of a spell before being killed. Well, that wasn't quite true. The sheer shock that Lyn had come to kill her revealed the true side of Aur, a cowrad. She fumbled through a spell, barely making it strong enough to cause any harm to Lyn before she fired her fatal shot. The spell's pain had barely registered against her skin, having made it acustom to lots of pain. Once the female was removed from the wall, her mother had demanded the arrow from her body. Everyone seemed confused by such a thing at first but her mother continued to insist. Lyn knew this was the first inkling that her mother knew who might have done this.
As the arrow was handed to her mother, she could almost see her eyes narrowing. The blade was a trademark of their house and specifically to Lyn's brand of arrows. Lyn had been nervous that her mother would reveal whom she knew the killer to be and the whole school would come down on her. But her mother's pride won out in the end, like she had expected, and she had remained silent. In fact, she gave a quick direction as to where to send her dead daughter's body then immediately left the school without another word. So, her mother was on her way to the warrior school. And so another mark in her plan was made.

Lyn waited patiently in the large dining room of the school. Today was her graduation, she was finally satisfied with her skill and knew she could learn no more at this school. She had accomplished quite a few goals, even defeated several instructors to the point of lasting scars. But the ceremony was the farthest thing from her mind. She had heard her mother would be arriving soon. This would be a decisive meeting for her house.
The choosen Heir Apparent was dead and only Shrilyn stood to inherit the house. But her mother would never allow that. Shrilyn was considered a disgrace for her lack of magical abilities. Why magic was so important to a house that survived on it's ability to create amzing weapons was beyond Lyn's understanding. Plans were already in place to fix that little problem. But if her plans were to go through, she needed to snip the last cord around her neck; to erase the last vestiage of the old way of thinking. So this was the last stand for the House of Auvryani.
Her ears perked as the sound of a commotion wafted down the long hallway. A female was yelling quite loudly, a voice that was very familair. She heard the voices of her teachers, demanding the reason for the intrusion when their graduation was to occur within the hour. She heard her name mentioned then footsteps coming toward the room. She stood her ground, arms crossed. Her weapon was in her hand but only casually. In fact it was only the bow she normally used. The door bursts open and the angry visage of her mother stood there.
"Leave us alone. This will not take long," she said with a hint of danger in her voice. She held a long object wrapped in a cloth. Her instructors refused.
"Its fine. Leave us. Its time I had this talk with my mother." Lyn was very serious as she spoke, so much so a few instructors looked rather nervous about leaving the two alone. But finally the doors were closed and the mother and daughter were left alone.

Shrilyn stared back at her mother while the elder glared daggers at the last remaining female of her house. The atmosphere was tense as both parties sized each other up. They both knew more blood would shed this day, but who would be the one to walk out of this room? The elder spoke first.
"I should have known you would resort to such tactics to ensure the destruction of our house. You have surely brought down Lloth's vengence upon yourself for your crime."
Shrilyn sighed, her mother always did this. Thinking she really knew what Lloth wanted. She had a great suspision that her mother had lost touch with Lloth many years ago. "Why mother, how can you say I have commited any crime agianst Lloth? I am a warrior for her cause."
"You are a warrior for your own cause! And you have brought death down on yourself for the death of your sister! She was to inherit our houes, and I will not allow you to take her place! The house will die with my own death and you shall be cast into the streets like the disgrace you are!" She spat anger at her daughter, the one she barely cared for if at all.
"What evidence do you have that I killed her? You are just quick to judge me because of your disappointment in me." Now for her plan to fall into place, but this part was dangerous. She couldn't gaurentee that it would work, this was all up to her skills and Lloth's blessing.
The elder threw down the cloth covered object at Lyn's feet. She picked it up to reveal the arrow that had ended her sister's life. She smiled softly at the memory, but that only seemed to enrage her mother. "Your face admits to your crime! You made a very big mistake leaving your custom arrow in her. It sealed your fate!"
Shrilyn's smile only got bigger, "Mistake? Mother, if you listened to my instructors, you know I work very hard to never make a mistake. And this arrow was no mistake."
Suddenly her mother became quiet, the thought process moving quickly. Lyn knew she could identify the arrow, and by her own admission she left it there on purpose. But then Lyn would know she would come to take her reven.....then it hit her. Shrilyn could see it in her eyes. "You wouldn't dare!!!! You...You...Lloth's will is with me!!!" The female held up her hands, ready to cast a spell.
"You lost touch with Lloth a long time ago mother. I'm sure she can tell you when herself." It was quick, sudden, and on target. The arrow in her hand me the bow in her other and it was all over. No spell was cast and no sound was made. The same arrow that struck down her sister now struck down her mother. Lyn walked over to the still body. "I will take care of the house the way Lloth really wanted it."
With that she walked out of the room and on to her graduation. The body would later be discovered, Shrilyn admitting to it and instructing that it be delievered to her house. Now that she was out of school, it was time to return home.

Shrilyn made her way into her house with an air of confidance and authority. The bodies of both her sister and her mother had been delivered and the house was a buzz with confusion. The only other females in the house were slaves and they were wondering if perhaps the warrior child had also been taken out. There was talk of a talk over by another house, which usually started with the murder of both the matron and the heir. But the visage of Shrilyn made all stop talking. Her brother approached her, bowed down in respect despite his massive size when compared.
The males of her house were much larger than most. Their constant work on the furnaces and anvils made thier muscles huge. They were strong but rather uneducated, which was how Shrilyn liked them. The one who approached her was her only friend of the house, her youngest brother. He made all her arrowheads, taking great pride in helping her deliever death to unworthy individualts. Perhaps he was a little twisted that way but it got Shirlyn what she wanted.
"Lady Shirlyn, your mother and sister have been killed. Their delivery brings no news of how they died. Are you aware of anything?"
Shrilyn smiled rather cruely, which gave the answer to most there. But if she was going to take control she had to make her move now. "I killed them. I claim my right to the Matronhood of this house. If anyone feels they are more worthy, then let them step forward."
She waited quietly for someone to speak, but none did. Finally, her little brother knelt down on one need. One by one the other's followed until her claim to the house was assured. She took a look down at the bodies of her elders and nodded to a few males. "Take these to the temple, they will be offered as a sacrifice to Lloth for my Matronhood."
With that, she walked off to shower and get ready. She had to make a formal meeting with the house to completely claim her throne as it were. The bodies were taken and offered up as she prepared for the hardest thing she had ever done.
