Kurio had been so sure that a trip to the nearest cake shop would have made any child as giddy and hyperactive as one could get, but it seemed his little girl could hardly keep her eyes open. Kurio look worriedly at his charge, her head just bent slightly into her collar bone, and her eyes showed she was resting. He knew that if he nudged her, the girl's sparkling blue eyes would suddenly open in surprise as if she hadn't been asleep at all. But it was not long after that she would again be dozing away as soon as he turned away from her. The guardian knew how important it was that she get her rest, but he couldn't live his own life based on her sleep routines either. Hence the trip to the sweet bakery.

The pair sat inside a small booth, surrounded by white wood on both sides. It has designed to look as if they were sitting inside a large muffin or cake. true to the intention, the table had rainbow sprinkles painted on it and the chairs given the appearance of icing. Yet Kashya small head still seemed to drop in an instance.

Not long after they had arrived, two more people showed up, the smaller boy's hair a pale white and his own eyes wide as he took in everything. "We can't get recipes here?" he asked, as his guardian, a slender woman whose face held faint lines of age and stress, shook her head.

"No. They only sell the result, Jules," she offered, lifting a hand to ruffle the boy's hair.

Jules pouted cutely for barely a second before he had moved to a glass case, practically flattening his nose on it as he peered inside. "But what if we really like it?" he asked, eyes already cataloguing what he'd like to bring home. But most of what he noted was for Toulouse or Aesop to try, not himself.

"If we really like it, then we come back here for more," Mireille aswered with a laugh, glancing around and frowning as she realized there was no one yet manning the counter. Assuming that whoever it was would be just a few minutes in the back, she moved to sit down at the table nearest to Kurio, offering him a faint smile and murmured 'hello'.

Kurios tipped his head in acknowledgment of the new patrons who now sat besides them. Of the two, one was a female, the older of the pair. With her, was a much smaller boy, a nephew, son, friend’s child or possibly even a younger brother perhaps. Though not even he was so silly to give that thought much process. One could clearly see that his wispy, fair was greatly in contrast to her own. He checked his watch, noticing it was only now coming up to twelve past ten before greeting her in return. “Morning,”

While he hadn’t thought he spoke loudly, Kashya’s small lashes flickered upwards briefly to see who her ’father’ was addressing. Her eyes seemed tired and heavy, but curiosity was there. Her motion did not go unnoticed by Kurios, and he watched her suddenly try to stay awake by fidgeting more so than before, and tilting her head to the side so that she might look at their neighbours more easily. “Who are they?” she said innocently, assuming that Kurios knew them from their exchange of words. It made Kurios smile to see her trying so hard to keep awake just so she could see the people she thought he knew. “I don’t know,” He said casually, making sure not to talk down to her but treat the question seriously. “You can continue sleeping if you’re still tired,” He commented to her. After all, sleep was very important for kids her age.

Julien had turned at the sound of Kashya's voice, and watched her for a moment before striding over to stand near her chair as Mireille watched. "I'm Julien," he said, keeping his voice soft and gentle, and peering at her curiously for a moment. "Why are you so tired?" Whereas Mireille would never dream of asking such a question for fear of prying, Julien had no issues.

After a moment, Julien looked up at Kurios, bowing just a little before smiling, his face sunny and content. "That's Mireille," he said, nodding to her.

Shock was definitely clear on Kurios’s face. After all, it wasn’t everyday an…eight year old just strayed over to your table and introduced himself in perfect English. Not even a stutter or grammatical error. Julien as he had announced himself, seemed curios about his little Kashya, but he’s gaze drifted over to Kurios soon after, also telling him who the woman with him was. Kurios looked over to the woman, a happily puzzled smile on his face. “Kurios said it’s because I don’t sleep a night,” Kashya replied, still in that sleepy hazed voice of someone hardly awake. “He says, if I slept at night, I could stay awake in the day. I tried that once, but I just couldn’t sleep,”

Julien nodded, slipping into a chair near Kashya and grinning at her. "I like the daytime," he offered, drawing one leg up so that his foot rested on the seat of the chair itself, with his arm draped over his knee. "But Mireille says 'it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round.'" As he quoted her, Mireille chuckled softly, just watching him. Her little boy just couldn't seem to accept that he didn't have to make friends with every person he met...

"He's very outgoing," she said to Kurios, when the man looked over at her, and she offered him a small smile. "Is it okay?"

Kashya gave a yawn, politely covering her mouth. It was very clear she was trying to fight off whatever tiredness was trying to claim her, in order to continue her conversation with the white headed boy. A rarity which she had never done before, then again. If Kurios though about it, he had never given her reason to. “It’s too bright,” she argued. “And everything is so much hotter. Like being in an oven-,” and then it seemed she couldn’t continue much more. Her sentence ran off and her head suddenly bobbed forward as if someone had pulled it down. Quick as a cat on fire, Kurios leaned over, and titled her head back, so that she wouldn’t wake up with a giant ache in it.

“It’s fine by me,” He said curtly to Murielle. “I don’t know many children myself, so if she makes friends while we’re out and about, it’ll help her to interact with children her own age,” not that Kashya acted her age anyway. She was only a week old technically, but was walking and talking like any other youngster. “Told you,” he said. “Can’t stay awake in the daytime even for cake and company,” He sighed. “So don’t take any offence to it…Julian?,” He said, almost getting the name right bar the ‘an’ ending. “Since she’s a little out of it, I’ll have to do introductions. This sleeping beauty is Kashya. I’m her guardian, Kurios,”

"It's okay," Julien nodded, ignoring the slight mispronunciation of his name, if he even heard it. "If she has trouble sleeping at night, it'd be mean to expect her to stay awake just because I wanted to meet her," he pointed out reasonably, leaning against the table for a moment before pale eyes looked up at Kurios. "Did she come from an egg?"

Mireille blinked, looking over at Julien sharply for a moment before peering at Kurios, curiousity too strong to chide Julien for the personal question. If she had... maybe she was like Jules.

Kurios’s eyes grew big, and his mouth dropped agape. How did they know? Did they know, or was he simply making a joke, though his tone had not hinted at humour in the lightest. What did they know of Kashya, of the egg of any of it. He brought his lips back together, still a little shell shocked, turning his own staggered eyes onto Murielle’s who seemed just as curios about the situation. “y-yes,” he stuttered, bobbing his head down slightly, as if admitting something foolish. Which he felt like he was. But it had been her child who brought it up, maybe she wouldn’t think it so. “Why do you ask?”

There was no hesitation on Julien's part in answering. He looked over at the sleeping girl, one pale hand reaching out to just brush through her bangs very lightly before he grinned at Kurios. "Then she's like me." Simple words, honest and to the point, and he was waiting for the man to react.

Mireille nodded, backing up Julien's claim quietly. "Jules came from an egg, too," she offered, as though the simple nod was worthless. "He just... popped out one day, looking much like he does right now."

“-Like me,” Kurios ran the words over in his head quit a few times, before actually comprehending what they meant. His thoughts upon putting the sentence together, some what resembled what would happen if someone put a bomb in a fire work factory and hit the detonator.

He looked at Julien again, only now seeing him from a different light. Not that it changed anything about him physically, but the new found knowledge had seemed to make something appeared different about the child. “I had no idea they would turn into children,” he admitted to Murielle. “It’s not the sort of way I imagined getting children at least,” He added with a short laugh.

Mireille laughed a bit, nodding wryly. "I never thought to be a mother at all," she admitted, looking at the two children. Julien smiled back at her sweetly, staying next to Kashya. "How did you happen across her egg?" she found herself asking, curious whether he, too, had found the egg by accident.

Julien remained quiet as the adults spoke, turning back to regard Kashya thoughtfully. She was pretty, he decided immediately, and now that he knew that she was asleep because she couldn't sleep at night, he was already forming a plan to get to know this new friend better in her territory. A nap or two during the day, and he'd be able to stay awake at least for a while...

“I didn’t,” He said matter o factly. “I live with someone else you see, and one day, my roommate came home carrying her. I didn’t have much of a choice. Not to say you did either,” He looked down at the tired girl. “But, I couldn’t let him get rid of it. I just…I know it sounds strange for a guy to be saying this, but I really felt like it would be a huge mistake if we did. Still didn’t expect this though. She had little angel wings when she was an egg, wonder what happened to them?” He said absently.
As a subtle gesture, he scooted over in his seat, hinting it might be better if Murielle might sit at their table, as opposed to the pair calling across the floor. “But seeing another child, well it opens up a new world of possibility to me. I thought they might all look similar perhaps, or that she was the only one. Have you met other children?” If others existed, he was eager to meet them as well.

Looking to Julien he looked at the boy with a slight amount of guilt. “Sorry little man, just seems the wrong time of day doesn’t it. Though she seemed to be really trying to stay awake and talk to you. You’ll have been the first person like her that she’s met you know,”
As if reacting to her name being spoken, Kashya’s head moved slightly, falling to the side.

"A few, yes," Mireille nodded, chuckling. "There are two that Julien seems to particularly like: Aesop and Toulouse. But they're so very different from him," she added wryly, thinking of the two boys. "Aesop's very serious, and Toulouse... um...."

"Toulouse needs help understanding how to act with others," Julien said before she could continue, his voice matter of fact, but with a note of affection for Toulouse underneath. "He's a very good person. He just gets frustrated and doesn't always show it." He offered Kurios a smile and a half-nod. "But I like him. And I like Aesop, too. He's really clever, and we do good projects together." He paused, glancing at Mireille as she shifted to settle at the same table, just listening to Julien chat with Kurios. "What's Kashya like?" he asked, looking back at her again thoughtfully.

Kurios was only able to follow half the conversation, not expecting for it to trade between Murielle and her ward. Needed to understand how to act with others…so he was…bad, Stuck up, introverted, all three? Oh well, perhaps he would find out soon enough. “ Do they all look similar to Julien?” He asked, still not understanding what he had chanced upon with Kashya. From what he could tell from the names, they all sounded vaguely masculine. “Are there any other females, like Kashya?” He asked, eager to see her get some female influences into her life. All she had was Ryo and himself. He worried if it might take away some of her femininity. “It must be tough for her to live with just as males,”

“Contemplative,” he said without hesitation. “She likes to look at things, study them. She has a habit of truly seeing things, instead of just looking. She spends a lot of time in her room,” He said, sounding slightly sad on the end. He wanted her to get out more, thus the trip of today. “I just can’t keep up with her sleep schedule most of the time. I work during the day, so I sleep at night obviously. Which is why I get so little chance to do things with her, even when I try,”
