(( Please note that this is a continuation of a roleplay me and Moogerr were doing in the old guild, while the shop was closed.

The old roleplay can be found [ HERE ], for reference. ))

* * *

Perking he glanced at Clive, then looked at his books. "Oh, well... I grabbed mostly books for just school... I'm not very good... at sciences." He blushed lightly, though he smiled. "Um, and I was trying to find a book on lemmings, you... wouldn't happen to know what those are would you? My brother thinks it's some kind of bird, but I dont think it is..."

His tail flicked behind him and he looked at his books. "Kind of random ~ Sorry. But yeah..." A horrible way to finish but it just sort of happened that way, like he'd suddenly forgotten what else he should have said. He was actually thankful for the ongoing conversation, it was relaxing in its own way...

((FYI ~ It's not 8D Its an arctic mouse ~ x3 <3 [.xXx.] They're pretty cute... >>; ))

"Ahh, I see," Clive replied, nodding as he took a better look at the books Ethan had grabbed. Just a boy... he thought to himself; at least the lines between the two worlds weren't as blurred as he had feared. Glancing back up to the white demon, he continued, "Well, that's nothing you should be ashamed about. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, it's how you use them to your advantage that matters. I think it's a good sign that you're trying to improve upon your knowledge of science."

It was odd, being able to speak in this manner. After all, the people he knew from before weren't the most easy-going bunch. He smirked at the thought, but brushed it aside; it was only a hinderance thinking of the past right now, when so much of it could only be speculated on what happened.

"Lemmings?" He blinked, unsure of what to say about them. He leaned back, glancing up at the ceiling briefly before responding, "They're small, wild rodents, similar to mice or hampsters." He stopped himself, wondering exactly how similar things were now than before. Was it only the visible changes, one could see with their own eyes, that was different? Was there anything deeper? The Anthropomorphs themselves seemed so similar to humans, but were the differences only physical?

I really shouldn't be studying so much into this right now, he speculated, leaning back forward to face Ethan. It just didn't seem right to do, when Ethan seemed so nervous anyway; didn't need to add to the uncomfortable atmosphere. If he acted out-of-character for who he was now, well... If it went the way it was going now, and if Clive's observations were correct thus far, his normal demeanor wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

He flashed a cheerful smile. "No need to apologize. I had asked, after all. And if you need the help, I don't see any problem in you asking, either," he replied. "How else is one to learn?"

Ethan glanced up at Clive at the encouraging words and gave a small smile. "Yeah, well... It's horrible doing stuff in class and reading things that don't make sense." He gave an embarrassed smile.

Perking he listened to Clive explain what a lemming was. "Is that so? I knew it wasn't a bird ~" He grinned, he would get to rub in Eron's face later when he came to pick him up. "Do... you think you could keep them like a pet? Like a hamster or a mouse?" Dumb question but he was genuinely curious.

He was oblivious to the others thoughts on the comparisons of Anthros and humans. Though if he had known, he would've figured it would depend on the human or the Anthro. Watching Clive, he blinked as he leaned back forward. The warm smile made him feel a bit better that it wasn't such a dumb question, and he wasn't being annoying.

"Well... are... you any good at Physics?" Maybe he could help...

Clive nodded to Ethan's explanation of what was bothering him. "I can see how that would worry you. You should try to ask your teacher to elaborate details for you that you didn't quite understand; I'm sure they'd be all to happy to," the wolf said. People who took up the profession of teaching for a living oftentimes liked to know that their students were interested -- what bothered them were the students that made the schooling difficult for others, didn't get the information, and made no effort to try in their studies. It was saying a lot about Ethan, just by the simple fact that he wanted to understand and succeed in what he put his mind to. He smirked at the thought before adding with a slight shrug, "Besides, usually when one makes the effort to learn something that is difficult for them to comprehend, the knowledge tends to stick around longer in the mind. In a way, they can be more adept at it than the ones that get it right off the bat."

This demon was definitely a peculiar one, that was for sure. He was nothing like the demons he was used to; it was actually a very pleasant change, not one that made him uneasy about the situation. Although he was still a kid, his attitude was a rather upbeat one, despite the initial nervousness. It was actually... kind of interesting that he was getting along with him. Most kids and teens may have consider him a bit boring, after all.

His ears perked to the next question, snapping him out of his subconscious musings. Back to the lemmings, he needed to stay on track. "Ehh, probably wouldn't be a very good idea. Although their population fluctuates quite a deal, they've been known to get down to endangered species level. Temperamental-wise, they also probably wouldn't be one you'd want in your house," he laughed a bit; it was actually a pretty decent question to ask, one most people probably wouldn't consider. "They'd need to be domesticated first so they would be able to handle living indoors."

He realized that Ethan was actually being quite open with his questions now, and that realization made Clive relax a bit more. If anything, Ethan probably thought he was an educator himself, or just traveled a lot. In a way, they were both true, but it made him not feel so much like he was out of place.

Now, what did he know about physics? Not something he usually labeled by name, though he did tend to use it a lot. "Well, I guess I'm pretty decent in that area. Not the best, mind you, but I might be of some help." However, most of what he knew was by reaction and quick calculating; he didn't know how good he'd be at the equations, but there was no harm in giving it a shot.

Ethan watched Clive quietly as his question were answered. "Bummer ~ They're so cute." Smiling lightly he looked at his books then back at Clive when he said he knew a thing or two. "Really--?" He stopped remembering the other had been doing something too when he'd interrupted him.

"Oh, well, were you doing something important? I can ask my teacher... I have class tonight..." He didn't want to be a burden even though Clive seemed more than happy to help. Maybe it would be better if he asked his teacher...

Giving a smile, he looked at Clive, "You know, Ill just ask my teacher tonight. I almost forgot I had class. Ill go a little early."

((Sorry for its horrible crappiness xD;;; ))

(( Nuuu, tis all good. :3 ))

Clive blinked, hoping he hadn't made Ethan feel uncomfortable. The demon seemed to be getting slightly nervous again, either that or he had just remembered something. The wolf had a feeling that it wasn't just about his class, but he wasn't about to voice the question. "No, no, not at all. I was finished with my own research for today; I'd been at it for quite some time," he replied quickly, waving a gloved hand.

Did I do something wrong? he pondered. The demon seemed to be having a good time just a bit ago... No, it looked like he had still been. Clive scratched the back of his head as he said, "You weren't bothering me at all. In fact, it was a rather engaging conversation, but if you feel you should leave then, by all means, don't let me keep you. I'm sure you're busy as well." He gave a sheepish smile, hoping he wasn't keeping the pale demon from anything important. Bummer, though. It was such a nice change of pace...

Glancing down at the table, he realized again the stack of books Ethan had pulled from the shelves earlier. "Were you planning on checking those out? I can help you out, if you need the assistance," he offered. It was a rather large pile.

Ethan watched Clive a moment as he was explained to about how the other had aready finished. "Oh, really? Well--"

Oh, it seemed there was a misinturpretation. He blinked and shook his head, "Oh, no, I wasn't implying-- My class is later, tonight; I have no where to go besides home." And Eron was his ride to wherever he wanted or needed to go. He shifted a bit in his seat, unable to help the small smile as he was told their conversation had been 'engaging'.

It wasn't often people would compliment others o ntheir conversation skills, though he knew he lacked a bit in the area at times. Glancing at his books, his tail flicked, "I'll probably be putting a couple back." He used the library enough to know how to file the books correctly, though he was mildly flattered at the offerand smiled at Clive, "I may take you up on the offer when I do decide to leave, though."

Unless Eron came in to fetch him that is...

Clive scratched the back of his head, smiling again with a characteristic grin. "Seems we're both a little off with words today. I'm sorry, I wasn't sure if this was the only stop you had today, and was unsure if you had any other errands to accomplish before school. It was wrong of me to assume, I apologize for that," he chuckled, "It seems I only managed to complicate the situation."

The wolf relaxed a little, though with his mind so scattered as it was the task was more difficult than it should have been. He leaned back into his chair to cover any uneasiness he may have been displaying, which actually helped to relax him further. His eyes ran over the books that were on the table, a thought coming to mind as Ethan talked about his own books. "If it isn't too much trouble to ask, could you help me replace the books that I took off the shelves before you leave?" He had not actually been to this particular library very much, and remembered that he had had a difficult time putting them back last he was here.
