Ethan's tail flicked as he skimmed the bookshelf in front of him... 503.9817...503.9817....503.9817.... Ahah! There it was. Murring pleased he pulled the book he had bee searching for off the shelf and leafed through the pages.
Wings folded behind him he read the first coupld pages intently. Yep ~ Exactly what he needed. He needed to leanr how to write letters of inquiry. Murring he closed the book and continued along the shelf, glancing over the spines of the books.

Clive fingered through a spread out display of historical documents on the table he sat at, his eyes fixated on the reprints of old books as he scanned the pages, trying to find something in particular. He wasn't a natural-born anthro, that much he knew about, but his past was so muddied up with so many jumbled memories, it was hard to weed through. He knew the best place to learn about what he had become was the library, particularly a large one. There was so many books that mentioned these spirits that were known as "anthropomorphs," but none really delved into them much more than myths and legends.
He sighed, feeling like he was getting no nearer to the information he needed to know. He knew the older reprints would be more likely to have the information he needed, but he became increasingly aware that the true origins were probably wiped out in the centuries of warfare that spread across the lands during times of old. The further back he looked the closer he got to what looked like a glimpse of hope, but the trail was nearing its end. Would he ever really know the truth as to why his life was changed? He didn't know, and all he could do at the moment was to keep his eyes open for any sort of hint.

Ethan ended up coing out of the stacks with several books stacked in his arms. He Looked around for a table to sit at, his tail flicked spotting a partially empty table with another anthro at it, seemingly doing research.
Moving over, he bent over slgihtly and asked the other, "Could I sit here?" Looking at him from across the table.

Clive jumped slightly at the sudden appearance of the demonic anthro, not realizing his focus was so narrowed. He didn't usually get so intent on something like this, but he had been so exasperated lately he knew it was no wonder. As the question filtered through his mind, his eyes fell back on the mess of papers and books that flooded the table and immediately began trying to straighten it all up. "Yes, of course you can! Sorry, I'm not usually so messy, but I guess I got carried away," he replied as he stacked the papers and moved the books off to the sides, as it looked like the demon needed a bit of space as well with the large stack of books he held in his hands.
He sat back into the chair with a slight sigh, wondering how much time he had put into this fruitless search for answers. If he wasn't with it enough to notice Ethan come up, then he probably couldn't guess an accurate time. He knew this much: he had been at it for hours. Craning his head around, he glanced at the library walls for a clock he could read. Seems it had been about five...

Ethan chuckled. "Oh thats okay. Im imposing on your work, studying." The demon smiled as he sat down his books, making sure not to take anymore room than what he needed.
His eyes glanced over some of the things the other had. curiously he looked at one closer before looking at the wolf. "What are yo uresearching? If yo udont mind me being nosey ~"

The wolf turned back to Ethan, a slightly surprised glance in his eyes above his glasses before shaking his head. "Oh no, no, you're not imposing. Please, take a seat! I should probably take a break sometime soon anyway," he quickly replied, not wanting to make the demon think he had interrupted anything. After all, working for about five hours straight was bad for his neck, as he realized, rubbing it slightly to untense the muscles.
Clive slouched in his chair, sighing as he realized how tense and absorbed he had been in his research. He knew he really shouldn't be getting so intense on this, but he had been focused on finding anything out that he could. He didn't know what had happened, and currently his life was only about figuring it out.
His dark silver-tipped tail flinched at the air once as he glanced down at all the paperwork and splayed books, wondering how he was going to explain what he was looking for to the demon. He wasn't a true-born anthro, he was turned into what he was now. He didn't know if Ethan would understand, but he tried to describe it anyway, if only because he was polite about asking. He didn't have to give all the details, anyway. "Well, I've been trying to research the history on anthr-- I mean, our own kind. You know, where it all started, the story behind it all, the truth to where we originated from. However, these books don't usually delve that far back, apparently. I wasn't aware how far back into history we were rooted..." He looked a bit frustrated, mussing up his own hair a little before glancing back up to the demon. His eyes seemed to hint that he was trying to remember something before they lit up, as if he found what he had forgot. "Oh, pardon me, I haven't introduced myself yet! My name is Clive Winslett," he said with a smile, holding out a gloved hand to shake.

Sitting as he was instructed he listened quietly... His wing stretched slightly as he thought... "Have you checked the shop? Im sure they have most of the stuff you seem to be looking for..."
He had only slightly picked up the different uses of words, but it didnt bother him one bit seeing as he didnt mind. Stretching slightly he stopped as he looked at the hand extended to him... Looking at it silently, contemplating a moment, he slowly and tentatively took it and shook it quickly before returning his appendages back to himself.
"Mm yes ~ Im Ethan." He gave a kind smile.

Clive fidgeted slightly in his seat as the demon suggested another place to look. It was a good idea that he hadn't thought of, however... there was a reason he didn't come by there very often. He sighed, smirking slightly to hide some frustration. "Thanks. I may try there next," he replied, but he wasn't sure if it was going to happen. He was uncomfortable around so many other anthros, knowing that many of them were born this way. He wasn't sure if he would be acting his 'part' out correctly, even if he was just bluffing as he went along. At least nobody caught on to his act as of yet...
"Ethan, huh? It's nice to meet you," he said, briefly wondering why the demon reacted in the way he did before shrugging it off. He wasn't in any position to question Ethan's actions if he didn't want his own motives in question. After all, for all he knew, Clive could have been the one acting strangely in that predicament. He ran a hand through his bangs, resting his forehead in the palm of his glove temporarily as his eyes drifted across the pages, unfocused. Jeez, I hope I'm not as out-of-place here as I feel... he grumbled to himself before raising his head again with a smile. "Don't let me keep you from your work here. It looks like you have a lot of reading material to go through, and I don't want to be a distraction," he said. He wasn't trying to push the demon away, he just didn't want to be a burden, or feel like he was under any scrutinizing observation.

Ethan was just always used to having Eron around... They were almost inseperable except Eron HATED the library so he'd left the other to his own fending. If gone to long from the other, the demon would start to get nervous, it wasnt much of a pretty sight ~
Giving a small nod and a smile at the introduction he chuckled. "Same to you." And at the inquiry of not being distracted he blinked then looked back at his books, almost forgetting that he'd had them.
"Oh ~ It's okay... Its not much of anything really..." He gave a bit of a shy smile.

Clive was a little confused at Ethan's reply about the books, pondering how he was to reply. His silver-black ears lowered slightly, but instead of anger as the position may have suggested it was more in thought; it was an interesting feeling Clive still hadn't gotten used to. The demon had grabbed so many books off of the shelves that the wolf had been sure there was something important Ethan was looking for. Or was he just putting it off, making sure he wasn't hurting the wolf's feelings if he had to ignore him? It very well could have been any number of reasons, but why else come to a library?
I really shouldn't be thinking so hard into it... he scolded himself. Running his eyes over the books that the demon had grabbed, he started, "If you don't mind me asking, what did you come to the library for?" Might as well just go along with the conversation. Ethan looked as though he wouldn't mind a little chatter, and Clive knew that there was little more he could learn about the anthros' history in this library. Getting his mind off of such frustrations would probably be a good thing at a time like this...
