If your uncle has hit you that is abuse, plain and simple. I am not trying to get anyone in trouble (your uncle) but you deserve better than that. You can report it. Stand up for yourself - does your mom or dad know about this? They should also stand up for you. They could disagree with what you are doing or thinking, but they should never tolerate one of their children being hit or abused!

I am online for around an hour every day. I'll send you a friend request and we can talk. I'm new in the Church, but I can be a good listener if you'll have me...

You don't have to take that. If he's abusing you then the police need to get involved since you can't effectively defend yourself.

First of all, you need to tell your boyfriend that you want to learn about the Church and that he needs to not be afraid of telling you about it.
Secondly, you should tell him to tell his bishop or branch president about your home situation, they'll be able to contact the proper authorities.

It sounds like there are 2 MAJOR problems going on. 1. is that you are a kid/teen living in an abusive household (oh, and don't blame the Catholic church for that. I know some awesome people who are Catholic. And I know Jerks who are Mormons. But I ALSO know that the LDS church is true because I have studied and prayed and God has answered me, and so I have to go on that, not the people) 2. is that you want to learn about the LDS (Mormon) church but your Mormon boyfriend is too shy about his religion and "pushing" you to talk to you about it. Okay, issue 1 is a tough one. A really tough one. Are you in the US? How old are you? However, if you are not ready to talk to your grandma about the abuse and such, for now we will just pray for you to have courage and safety till your situation can change. 2. We can certainly tell you about the teachings of the church, but to really study it, it would be great to talk with some missionaries in your area. But if you are a kid, they can't came to your house with out your parent's permission. Though they COULD come to your BOYFRIEND'S house if he asked them to! Anyway, just a thought. So, what would you like to know?

The Church has a welfare program, they'll be able to help you and your grandma, and maybe even help pay for your surgery. And I'm absolutely certain they'll believe you, they're never skeptics.

Don't mean to pry but what state? I have a cousin in the police force down there I could talk to if needed. Also, the others are right, you need to get out of the situation. As for learning, just ask your bf to have the missionaries at his house to teach you the lessons. They would be more than happy to and he can see your real interest.

we're all just trying to help. We can answer questions and give advice, but it will all avail to nothing if it is not put into action by someone. In the worst situations I find that humming a hymn helps. The words to "I know that my redeemer lives" are very inspirational and uplifting. And heavenly father promised that he will never give us trials greater then we are able to handle.
