Well, I guess I should make an introduction first off. My name is Alisha, I'm 20 years old and expecting my first child this October. I'm happily married to the greatest man in the world and yes, this was a planned pregnancy.

So anyway, my great new pregnancy issue. I was having extreme pain through my back and abdominal region so intense that I ended up making a trip down to the hospital. I figured it was probably a kidney infection, which they did end up treating me for, but while I was down there, they also found that I was having pretty significant contractions. My cervix was still tight and everything looked good, save for the four minute contractions, so they kept me for three nights to monitor and sent me home on a huge amount of medication. Aside from the sleeping medication, pain medication, and antibiotics, I'm also taking procardia and terbutaline every two hours. It's been six days now and my heart rate has not fallen below 130, I haven't stopped shaking or throwing up, and I've lost three pounds. I'm so sick I can't leave my room. Anyone been through this?

A picture of Liam, to end on a happy note.

Can't say I have, but Goddess bless you and Liam. I hope everything turns out alright! sweatdrop

Welcome to the guild! I'm Kat. I'm also 20 and I have an 8 month old little girl, Evelyn (not planned, but a blessing nonetheless).

I dealt with major cramping in the first trimester...not quite the same though....I hope everything works out for you sweatie.

I have a {nearly} 17 month old baby girl named Madison. I am 17 but I don't regret it.

Welcome to the guild, I can't say I've ever been through that nor know anyone who has either. Don't be overly worried about the weight unless you're still losing it, perhaps having a natter with your doctor will help give some advice on how to help. But try to eat small amounts rather than big ones, usually (and hopefully) the stomach will be easier to settle and keep it down.
Not sure if any of the 'old wives tales' remedies will help, such as ginger products or dry crackers. (I found sipping water helped myself)

I'm now 20, just turned in August, my daughter turned three in June, I was 16 when I had her and she has been the best unplanned, unsure of a word here, that I've ever not planned in my life. =)
