An orange and yellow sun was rising just above the horizon. At the same time, a blue and black pile of fur was also rising. Large jaws parted in a lengthy yawn as the fur, which belonged to a wolf, stretched it's limbs. Achan looked around. Mist had captivated him. Her pink fur gave way to a greater personality. Feistiness, mixed with a hint of aggression and playfulness... that was Mist. True, the Bones' Pack were rumored to be killers, but Achan didn't mind. As long as he could just speak to Mist again, it was worth the risk, the trouble, and, most of all, the wait. He had been in the pack's territory for multiple nights now, with no glimpse of that pink fur that he longed so much to see. A few times he had almost been caught, but he slipped away stealthily, like the wolf he was.

Mist had been keeping to the shadows the past few days just incase. Her pink fur shone in the moonlight as she streaked across her territory. Her mind had been focused on Achan. She was the priestess of the Bones' Pack for crying out loud! She shouldn't be thinking about friends or even mates. To make the matters worse Achan wasn't even in her pack. He was a rogue. If anyone would find out about her and him she'd be dead. All her heart screamed for seeing Achan again, but she didn't want to. Little did she know, however she was running in the direction of Achan now.

Achan gasped. He had heard something. Near silent pawsteps of a wolf? Achan looked around. He wasn't ready for a fight this early in the morning! There! In the shadows, he saw a place that could shelter him from sight of any wolf, no matter what direction there were coming from. He hopped into the hiding place and looked about, wondering what direction the wolf - if it was a wolf - was coming from. He sat and waited silently, wondering what was going on.

Mist ran on without knowing that he was there. Her muscles were flexing underneath her brilliantly spotted pelt and her eyes were focused on the path ahead. Her pads hit the ground so softly not a sound could be heard from the impact. The way she was now, it could've been mistaken for an angel or something higher up.

Achan looked around, even though he couldn't see much from where he sat. The noise had vanished, when a moment before it sounded as if it was coming closer, impending upon him. Achan couldn't stand it anymore. If someone - some wolf - was watching him, he had to find out. He could fight. He was strong. He stepped out of hiding and looked about, wondering where the wolf was that he had heard before.

Mist saw a flicker of movement in the corner of her eye and spun around. A couple feet behind her stood Achan. Had he seen her? If he hadn't she could still leave without him being aware of her presence. Too late. His eyes met hers and Mist knew she couldn't leave now. He'd want to talk.

"Mist!" Achan bounded foward a few steps and, without thinking, nuzzled her. Even though not much had happened at their last and first meeting but talking and playful rabbit part-flinging, he had felt something. Even though deep in his heart he was cruel and cold-hearted, and he knew that meeting someone of the Bones' Pack was completely forbidden, he just knew that he had to. "Oh! Sorry," Achan glanced down, the fur around his cheeks growing hot with embarrassment. Why had he just done that?!

Mist stood there shocked at his reaction. She enjoyed it, but she couldn't reveal that. She looked down for a moment then looked up at his eyes. "You know this could never be..." She whispered. Secretly each word tore her heart to shreds. She had feelings for him, and she knew that he shared them too. If only they were both in the Bones' Pack or both rogues that would work better for everyone and it would be much less painful.

Achan sighed and stared down at his front paws, all the while shaking his head. "I," he began, "I though you, of all," he began again, but couldn't finish. "I thought you'd understand!" Achan shouted, only after realizing it was a bit too loud. His anger was flaring up inside of him, fury boiling. He knew she felt the same. "What if..." Achan trailed off, and looked up at Mist, wondering what was going through he head at the time. He didn't finish his sentence right then and there. He waited.

When he shouted Mist felt tears almost coming to her eyes. Those tears were instantly replaced with anger. "Do you know what it's like to have a leader who's watching your every move just wanting to catch you making a mistake? Do you even know what I'm risking to be here with you?" She didn't want to continue this agruement anymore. "Don't you know that I love you?" She whispered quietly.

"No!" He shook his head, finally deciding to quiet down. "No, and... I guess I never..." Achan trailed off again, sadness in his eyes. "I never realized what you were risking..." Once again he had trailed off, knowing very well that Mist knew what he was trying to say. "Mist?" He looked deep into her bright pink eyes, regretting, already, what he was about to say, for he knew they could never be. "I love you too," he whispered, stepping forward to nuzzle her.

Mist knew that being with him couldn't only endanger her life, but his too. When the words, 'I love you too' came she couldn't stand it. Her heart felt like it was being ripped apart. She shook his his muzzle away and ran. Leaving behind a trail of tears.

"Mist!" Achan called out numerous times, each louder than before, but to no prevail. His paws felt like cinder blocks, and he could only take a few steps forward. He kept calling out, but he had already guessed that she was very far away by now. He had messed it all up. He had single handedly messed everything up. He threw himself upon the ground, and refused to get up. His stomach growled, but he payed no mind. The only thing that had mattered was Mist, and she was gone now. Or was she?

Mist turned around, genuine regret in her eyes as she imagined the happy future they could've shared together. More tears filled her eyes as she whipped around and ran once more.

Pain stabbed at Achan's heart as he lay there, motionless. Without Mist, his life wouldn't be complete. Achan got up, and, in a zombie-like trance, walked off and out of Bones' Pack territory, his tails trailing in the dirt.
