These are the mountains surrounding the castle. Odd thing, they seem to go on for miles and miles without end, although there are a few small flat valleys few and between... After these small valleys, if you can get that far, there is a large lake, on which the ice never melts. It seems to always be cold; always winter. The trees reach up hundreds of feet, and at some places are so thick it is completely black, no light can get in. There are no animals or wild life living in the mountains, it is always quiet, and always still. Here is where time stops, and things never change...
There is one legend that exists about these mountains, and why it is always winter... appearently, once some people did live here. Two people, a man and a woman, fell in love and planned to get married. However, the man had to go off to war, and before leaving, his fiance said to him, "I promise, I shall wait for you here, forever... and ever." He braided a string of red flowers into her hair, and kissed her farewell. 30 years later when he returned to the promised spot, he found she was not there.
"How could I have expected her to stay here and wait for me? After all these years, when I am old and grey..." He kept on walking in the snow accross the ice, then suddenly stumbled and fell. When he looked down into the ice, he saw his beloved frozen in the ice, wearing her wedding gown, red flowers from when he left still braided into her hair...

The mountains that seemed to go on for miles was just what she needed. She got sick easily around snow, but she didn't care. The brisk air was refreshing. 'I'm not angry Edward...I'm worried more than anything...' She thought to herself, picking up speed.
As she ran, lost in thought, she never noticed the frozen lake and slipped, skidding across towards the middle of the ice. 'Damn.' She thought, gritting her teeth. "Stupid..." She muttered, just sitting there for a moment.

she stretched and looked around. "me like's..." she said, looking at the tree's. she could run in these tree's and never come down.. and she was sorely tempted to do so. instead she leaned against one of the giant tree's and waited, her tail wagging slowly and her ear's relaxed.
she looked up to see Mim on the ice. she shook her head and kicked her foot down, jumping clear over most the lake until she next to Mim. "good time for skateing hu?"

a snake of about 16ft came over the ice at them. he lifted his head and stared at them for a moment, then started to circle around them. from the thickness of his body it was clear he was a constrictor.

"Hey." She called to the snake, not at all worried about him. "You okay? Its kind of...chilly for a constrictor...or any kind of snake for that matter."

Bain smiled. "Madi!!!!" she knee skided until she was next to the snake, then laghed when he nudged her forhead with his nose.
she looked up from the snake and motioned Mim over. " Mim, this is Madi. "

Mimicry slide across the ice to Bain and Madi. "Hey..." Pulling off her jacket, she held it open. "You should be able to wrap yourself in this if you get too cold." She offered.

he drew up offended, then spoke with his mind to them. i, lady, do not feel temperature unless i want to. he moved around them once, then coiled up to watch them. he closed his eye's but continued to talk to them.
my full name is Asmadis Crevantie Nersalin. i go by Madi.
Fate skided onto the ice and smiled at them. " he is being a pain again isnt he." she sat down next to the snake, petting him when he layed his head in her lap. she felt the familiar warmth of his tail curling around her ankle as she looked up at Bain and Mim. " it was a good run here, and Madi even beat me here. you two ok?"

She smiled apologetically to Madi. Slipping her jacket back on, she looked over at Fate. "We're just butt skating. It's interesting...you should try it."

she looked around intrestedly. "ah.. this place has potential.." she looked at Madi, smileing widely. " oohh Madi"
the snake snorted and looked at her. you have got to be kiding Fateling.. she just did the puppy dog eyes.

the snake shook his head and waited for the girls to get off the ice, then slowly let out his breath. the ice smoothed out, slick and perfect, as a wave of magic cut over it. he left a few small strips of snow over the ice so they could walk back safely after they were done, then he looked at them. surfs up.
Fate gave a delighted shout and ran off into the woods. a few minets later she came back at a full run, jumping onto her make shift sheild as she reached the lake.
she went off like a bullet, the tree bark under her glideing across the ice all the way until she hit the snow path Madi had left for them to use as a stoping place. she was giggleing like an idiot when she walked back up. "soo fun.." she said before she fell on her butt. she had gone realy, realy fast.
