In the Japanese version, Mir's name was 'Mule' and may have been changed because it sounded far too demeaning and perhaps nonsensical as a name.
(spoiler for late At1) Through Lyner's determination and wills of many, he was able to release her from her hatred. Since then, she became inspired to venture beyond the first tower in order to fulfill her wish...

She initially runs into Croix and his party by stirring conflict, but as soon as she was able to find that she can benefit from them, she joins the party as a powerful ally. Her knowledge of the Tower's mechanics and workings is invaluable, surprising Shun. She is seen having a witty and sarcastic personality, but deep down, she harbors a kind personality... which is revealed through her conflicting personalities in her cosmosphere.
She enjoys crafting original stories and sees great joy in pestering with the infrastructure and administrator of the tower in Sol Ciel. Also, she likes her viruses a lot. =]
