XD Well you can, but you don't usually get very far. I don't read Japanese either....
To boost, left click the mouse when th word AERIAL lights up in either red or blue. The color will tell what kind of boost you can use. You only have 3 red boosts (angle up) and you can only use blue boost (angle down) when your meter is at 100%. You'll need to be quick, it doesn't stay lit for long. Sometimes when you run into a girl, the word "SPECIAL" will come up. Left click and you'll get a big boost.

It's a lot easier once you figure out how to work the boosts.
