High atop the jagged stone that served as the roof of the den, and the pack's meeting area, stood Chernabog. His name had yet to be revealed to his followers, no not followers, his court. He did not want them to follow in blind faith, he wanted his court to believe in their own power, to understand that they had each earned their place. As members of the Reign of Terror they were expected to work for the pride of the whole pack, and to punish those who weakened it. He lifted his muzzle to the darkening sky and let out a mighty howl.

This would be the packs first meeting, he would assign his lords to the lands they were to collect tribute from, their reign commenced now. He smirked downward, tucked at the den entrance huddled in fear was the packs pet. Clooney seemed to be doing well in keeping her in her place, and now he could present her to the others, they would understand how the land came to be his.

Selene was curled up in the shadow of the rocks trying to be small and innocuous. She was terrified by the howl, for it meant that the others were coming now. If Clooney terrified and treated her as he did, how bad would the rest be? Tonight Chernabog had told her, she would tell them how the land once was, and relive the terrible night that had changed her happy life and home forever.

There was much to be accomplished. And for that reason, Meskeet released the attention of her crow so that her mind may accurately invest itself into the individuals of this pack.

Io was not pleased to be left. The crow ruffled its blue feathers and flew away in a huff. He had little bid towards him tonight, and upset at the loss of his seer's attention.

Stepping beside the alpha, Meskeet's weary body trembled out of hunger as her luminous eyes rest heavily upon the night sky. She would eat later, if she could find anything half descent.

Sitting down on worn out haunches, she was almost the picture of age and weakness. But her eyes were ever young, as she nodded curtiously to the king.

((I'm going to be gone the rest of June on vaca, but I'll be back in July. :3))

Hope walked over to where Chernabog and the rest of the wolves were gathering and he sat down in a spot without many wolves near by. His head was lifted proudly as he gazed in the direction of their leader. It was a cool night and Hope seemed to be feeding off of the fear of those who were terrified. The fear came from them in waves. Just the way he liked it.

This was a good piece of land and he was glad to be in this pack.

Blackjack's ears swiveled in the direction of the howl, a powerful sound that cut through the air like a claw. Curiosity had been itching at him ever since Kiara left him, who could an intimidating wolf like her possibly respect and serve?

The small male slipped to his feet, gliding towards the meeting place like an inky shadow. Then he saw the alpha, an massive wolf with emerald fur spattered with crimson. The darker and lighter patches he initially thought were random soon sorted themselves out into eerie faces, and a mask adored his face, completing the entirely macabre effect. In truth Blackjack was quite impressed, but that would be hard to guess judging by him nonchalant demeanor.

Blackjack's eyes slid over the form of a cowering turquoise female, chuckling a bit at the idea of pushing her around a bit, though she'd probably prove too little of a challenge to manipulate and bully. He then sat down next to a brown female with bright yellow eyes, nudging her with his shoulder in a bit of a greeting as he waited to hear more from the alpha.

CRUNCH. The crackling of snapping bone was muffled the jaws of the large wolf closed in around the small creature before the ball of blood and fur was swallowed down. The mouse was nothing more than a quick snack caught to give the black wolf a snippet of energy to either hunt a larger meal later on or venture over to his ever favorite pet, Selene. It was his pleasure to see if she was behaving...or misbehaving; Clooney would come up with any excuse he could to snip at the female in his ever dark mocking leer. He would do anything to hear that pitiful whimper. The black wolf was young, handsome and who was to tell him what to do? Well, there was Chernabog, but that was why the wolf had joined this pack, the alpha was open to all sorts of exploits, all of which Clooney could find himself doing freely without any concern of scorn for his deviant actions.

Flicking gold ringed ears perked at the deep howl set in the distance, forcing his proud head to stare up as he listened. That familiar voice was enough to have his paws moving forward, a simple reflex. Curiosity ran as he wondered for what reason the Goblin King was drawing the pack in. Certainly it had to be good. The black, gold and maroon wolf was also eager to finally meet the other members of the pack whom he had yet to come face to face with. What were they like? Were they all as sadistic as he or were some a little more sensible? He doubted any were soft innocent creatures, after all, they wouldn't have been accepted into Reign of Terror if they were, but surely the personalities varied between each individual. Now it was time to see just what they were like.

Coming into the open area, the wolf took on a stoic expression while his nose shifted, taking in the new scents while his eyes explored the old she-wolf and blue male. The other black male also caught his attention. His step was light, prancing almost, and as he passed in front of Selene he pause to give her a smirk-wink combination before continuing on to address his alpha. Giving the slightest bow of his head was his only greeting before his maw opened to Chernabog. "You summoned us forth, Goblin King. Now may I ask, for what reason?"

User Image There was a hunk of mangled meat laying out in the middle of a patch of sun. A pool of blood had formed and a small stream and started to find it's way down hill. This mangled mess was actually a wolf just, oddly enough, sun bathing. The woods were quiet and she was full, so no need in hunting, but anything that thought to take claim to the 'dead' meat in the sun was going to have a sour experiance.

Valdis was asleep, the woods had been quiet all day, that was until the sound of a strong howl ripped through the forest. An ear twitched, but it could have been skin moving in the wind, when the brown/red eye slid open just above some grass blades.

Would she get up to go and see what had suddenly made the forest wake up? With a swift roll she was on her feet. Valdis headed towards the direction of the howl, might as well see who might be a bit tough to chew up. The key word was might in that thought.

Striding through the trees, blood drizzling off the tips of her paws and claws, the mangled left side of her jaw hung loose as the blind looking blue eye took advantage of the daylight.

Black nose twitched, one, two, three, four, five...and six wolves. That was how many her nose tracked in the air a nose that was a acute as that of a shark in the water, but she was a shark in the forest.

Breaking through the trees her eyes, well one pupil, moved across the members of this little pow wow. Looking towards the sight of the so-called king she called out, "Looks like you're missing one member Bone-head, want them to be hunted down so you don't waste everyone's daylight?"

Yup she would even call him her own name before the pack. So be it if they wanted to kill her. Not like they were going to torture her, just make her more bloody and loose some numbers in the process. Then the blue eye looked at the youthful yellow eyes of the only other female not cowering.

Pupil-less eyes that was, only one of two things she knew that meant, blind or seer. Either way she might be some fun, even for an older wolf so Valdis said seer in her mind before getting bored with the brown wolfess. Chernabog had found the perfect killer, or killer assassin in Valdis, no pain physical or mental made her flinch, but of course death would make her stop like anything else.

However, her red eye had moved to the other female, the teal cowering one. She licked her lips, looked to be a healthy creature regardless to the slave catagory. Valdis moved from her spot then, circling around the clearing, no reason to let the blood pool up, and atleast this way she wouldn't be bored until there was something going on.

Chernabog watched them as they assembled from the darkness, he was proud of each one for in their unique talents lay the power of the pack. He was not a tyrant King let them do as they pleased as long as they obeyed the basic rules. He did not want them killing each other or killing those who offered respect and tribute, everything else was fair game.

He nodded respectfully to Meskeet, and to Hope as they came first. A grin slipped beneath his metal fangs as Blackjack appeared, so this was the wolf Kiara had given praise. He smirked as Clooney arrived and shared a grin down towards Selene with him. Since Clooney spoke first he decided to address him first.

"I'm glad you asked Lord Clooney, firstly we are here to meet, you now know your allies, and who to turn to should you need it. I won't have any of my pack feeling vulnerable, though I can't imagine any of you showing any weakness." He chuckled softly, they were the cream of the crop.

"Secondly we will be holding these pack meetings to discuss things as the seasons pass, this pack offers much freedom, but of course our Lords have their duty. The time has come to travel to our neighbors and make our presence formally known. They will offer us tribute, or we shall soon have more land to call our own. Cloo-" He paused and gave a soft chuckle as Valdis called him.

"Meet Valdis, she's quite the little assassin, an acid tongue, razor fangs, and she cleans up after her kills." He smirked softly, the cannibal was brave and he admired her, not in the lustful way he looked at Kiara or other females, but for what she was, a killer.

"Valdis, I'm sure Kiara will come along shortly...I won't be waiting though." He had no intention of waiting, those who did not come would simply have to figure things out on their own, and if they failed...well.

Chernabog nodded and turned back to Blackjack and Clooney. "As I was saying Clooney will be going to our neighboring pack Akiiki Chibale, and Blackjack will head towards the sea where the Agua Azul pack resides. There you will each demand a tribute and return it to the pack. If nothing is offered...you will each bring back something anyway, something or someone, dead or alive." He gave a swift nod before turning back to Valdis. "Valdis if you would be so kind as to go as a scout, I want to know the numbers of these packs, and how many could actually fight, we will be well informed should anyone ever attempt anything foolish."

He paused and looked over the pack "All clear?"

The black creature didn't settle himself down and instead stood with his lanky yet muscular build adjacent from his alpha. Those pale eyes traveled to the she wolf bleeding profusely from open wounds while that clouded eye watched all and nothing. She was an interest, who wouldn't be fascinated, but the male could sense the nature of her being. He would have to learn more about this Valdis character who spoke immediately after he to the alpha and so nonchalantly. "Hmm..." he murmured to himself watching her before glancing to the others briefly, taking in their expressions, reading their thoughts without literally taking in a word.

His attention glued itself onto Chernabog once more before he was spoken to and as the words came a thin proud longing erupted in him. He was trusted...for that he was at least thankful. It was an advantage to have someone of such high status to see use of you, especially when it wasn't just your goal to get on his good side. His maw shut as he listened. The question was answered swiftly in a basic, easy to understand explanation he agreed with, but was even more curious when the sentence was cut off to answer Valdis's statement. So there was one other missing? Or were there more? Either way, Clooney figured he'd find out soon enough.

What intrigued him more was the fact that he and the other black wolf were once more addressed. His ears pulled forward while his cautious expression gave a slight interest at his new assignment. Gathering tribute from Akiiki Chibale, huh? That will be a challenge. He was well aware that this pack of wolves as not an ally to the raving Reign of Terror territory which seemed to have a mild alliance with Agua Azul pack that the wolf named Blackjack would be paying a visit to. Finally Clooney was going to be able to do what he had come here for! His previous stoic face swiveled into a disgustingly devious smirk one that could rival the Grinch in its audacious excitement. His handsome face pulled up proudly while his stance became less sleek and taller in his eagerness.

"Crystal clear," he muttered, grinning still.

Blackjack watched Hope for a bit. The young blue male sat gazing up at where Chernabog stood, and Blackjack bet that he'd be hanging on the alpha's every word. He looked strong, feeding off the atmosphere of the gathering, but judging from this first impression Blackjack guessed he could talk circles around this fellow. Not that he should be dismissed, he'd serve excellently in this type of pack, but he didn't appear to have the particular caliber of cunning that Blackjack valued.

The next male, Clooney he'd later learn, appeared much more interesting. His relaxed demeanor was similar to Blackjack's own, and the way the turquoise omega shrank from him was amusing. He'd definitely have to learn more about this one.

Just as he finished his observations Chernabog was addressed from the shadows, and Blackjack raised his eyebrows as the newcomer paced around the circle. Her boldness was intriguing. Yet another physically intimidating figure, but her audacity alone would warrant a few conversations. Chernabog didn't appear that irked by her greeting, spinning praise for the killer before continuing on and addressing the lords.

"Agua Azul, eh?" the charcoal wolf mused aloud. "Got a pretty ring to it." In seconds he'd called to mind the few tidbits of information he already had about the pack; an alpha named Twist, pups that were probably teens by now. A pack with the potential to be strong, but he knew the family would have their pressure points, which he intended to find and exploit. He'd poke, prod, and gnaw at any and all cracks until they broke.

Chernabog had laid the stakes, and now it was up to him to convey the gravity of the situation to this little pack. What a fun game this would be.

The pacing figure moved through the trees in a 'u' pattern. She wasn't going to play with the little slave, not yet at least. The ears on her bleeding head swivled to listen to what the Alpha was starting to say.

"Yawn," she muttered as Chernabog stated that these were the wolves to put trust into and that they would be beaconed with different seasons. She didn't even halter in her walking as he introduced her to the pack, big deal woop, they all knew she ate the flesh of others no matter the species. They didn't know, maybe except for the seer, that she was dead on the nerves.

"Good, to hear," she said alittle louder at the mention of this Kiara. The assignments were given out and when the alpha implored her. Valdis turned to look at the rock.

"Only wolves or do familiars count as well?" Honest question, she would count anything that seemed to be linked to the packs and maybe even count those that were so close to the main den. If she found anything like that.

Kiara came bounding up, snarling at the heels of a torn and bleeding Khorrigan. She was furious with the younger wolf. She had sent him out on a simple mission to train. All he'd had to do was go find a nest of rabbit young and kill the young, while leaving the adults unharmed. It was a tricky task, yes, but it shouldn't have taken him so very long!

When she'd heard the howl of summons, she'd realized with a pounding heart that, with Khorrigan under ther tutalage, she couldn't arrive without him. With a frustrated snarl, she'd gone in search of him. She tracked his movements swiftly, discovering part of why he'd taken so long. The stupid youth had wandered this way and that, wasting precious time. Finally, panting from following his meandering trail as fast as she could, she'd discovered him sitting morosely in a clearing. Slaughtered rabbits surrounded him, both young, adult, and aging.

Kiara's rage had risen to a boiling point then. "Did you not hear him? We have been called, and you sit here whining like a pup that's been caught doing something wrong!" She had launched herself at him, snapping and snarling viciously. "Go!" she'd growled, blood hot in her eyes. "Go or I will kill you where you stand!"

User Image

Khorrigan had been supremely confident. What trouble could he have with such an easy assignment? Inwardly he scoffed at the older she-wolf. What did she know of how to train to be a warrior? So he'd dawdled and taken his time, not really paying any attention to where the rabbit colony might be found. He'd quite honestly stumbled upon it accidentally, the scent of warm flesh wafting to him. Smirking to himself, he had crept closer, bracing for the simple task set for him.

Only it had turned out to not be so simple. He'd darted in, but the little ones got underground faster than the adults. Infuriated, he'd killed the slowest of the adults, the ones who must have been aged for their kind. Then he'd dug down into the burrows, tearing at whatever fur or flesh he could get his fangs into. He'd show her! He was wild with his anger that this wasn't turning out so easy. He flung dead and dying bodies of the small creatures left and right, sprays of blood coating his already red fur.

It was the distant and commanding howl that brought him to his senses. He stopped and looked at his handiwork, and his heart sank. He had failed, no question of it. But now what? Feeling sorry for himself, sullen and angry, he plunked his hindquarters down and stared mutely at the carnage. He was still in this position when a white whirlwind of fury descended upon him.

Shocked by her attack, he yelped and leaped backwards, stumbling over his own paws. In seconds, she had torn into his shoulder and sliced open his leg, amongst other things. He stared wide-eyed at her snarling face. Her voice ground harsh across his ears in command and threat. Terrified much as he had been when he'd been driven from his first pack, he turned and fled. As he ran, she laid into him tooth and claw, until his hindquarters were a bloody mess and his tail was torn, despite being tucked close between his hind legs.

It was in this manner that the two rushed upon the gathered wolves. Kiara could hardly have been angrier, but it was with the young fool, as well as herself. She'd allowed him too much time. If she had kept better track, she'd have ensured they arrived on time. With a last snap of her jaws in warning at the red teen, she moved before her alpha and bowed low. "Forgive me, my lord. I had a trainee to punish." She didn't quite flicker her eyes to Khorr, but her ears canted slightly his direction. "What is it you wish me to do, my Lord and King?" Her demeanor to the imposing male was still extremely respectful, but her fury still throbbed in her voice. Her question was intentionally couched so that he could either instruct her with his original intentions, or he could give her a command concerning the recalcitrant teen.

Khorrigan was mortified. It hadn't been a summons just for him, but for the entire pack. And here he was, driven up like a lowly omega who'd tried to escape! His ears pinned, his tail remained tucked, and he dripped his blood upon the great rock that they met upon. His lips were curled back in an unconcious sign of defiance. Attempting to escape the scrutiny of the others and the alpha he'd pledged himself to, he slunk towards the entrance to the dens. Unintentionally, this put him side by side with the cowering female omega. He snarled at her, unaware that his body's position reflected that of the lowest ranking member of the pack. So much the fool, this pup of a wolf, all unknowingly associating himself visually in this way with the one whom the entire pack dominated.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:40 pm

Valdis had stopped her pacing as the sounds of thundering paws raced through the forest. The anger and fear were both very sweet on the air. So sweet her whole face turned to watch the red and white fur whiz by.

This must have been the missing female, obviously the pup was the one that was training, and a possible new member. She bent her head down to take a small taste of the dropped warm red liquid from the red male. He was sweet, the one filled with the emotion that Valdis was calling fear.

However, the fear seemed to shrink away as the red teen took a seat next to the little omega. Both looked to be an appitizing meal, but Valdis just smiled at the female's voice floated up towards the black figure on the rock.

Chernabog, still had yet to gain her respect, which just seemed to be the first thing all these so called wolves, at least the ones that had spoken, had given up to him. Rolling her pupil around, this was really sad from what she had already seen and smelled. The funniest thing to her was how they all just seemed to jump for his words, though only in figuritive terms.

Looking towards the stirred up path, as if looking for more rushing "Court" members, she lifted her head back up to its full position and continuing her walk. Even as her eyes swept down towards the black and dark gray male. Her eyes narrowing, but her head turned back towards the forest. If that was all Soft-skull was going to say, then she would go and start her little 'hunt'.

Chernabog chuckled at Kiara's entrance nodding for her to sit down beside him. "Kiara here is quite talented in her duty, she is doing a fine job in helping to train and raise our futures." He chuckled a bit. He glanced at Valdis, but would save the request that she train the young as well for another time.

His gaze suddenly turned, it was cold, cruel nothing like the laughing joking alpha they had seen today. He gazed at Khorrigan with this new stare and frowned, beneath the mask his razor sharp teeth seemed to multiply.
"You had better learn some self control pup, if you seek revenge, none here will work for your cause until you can prove you deserve it. Act in such a manner again infront of us, and we will bring you down to the level at which you act." He growled softly his muscles bunching beneath his skin until it seemed the eerie goblin faces that covered his pelt were lunging. Finally Chernabog reigned in his temper and turned slowly back to the others.

He smirked at Valdis his eyes slowly warming back up. "Of course any familiar of a wolf that could be of use to them should be counted, the birds can see and tell, the lynxs have mighty claws, and bears are of course a fun treat for any of us."

He nodded at Blackjack and Clooney they knew this was their chance to test their stuff, to prove that they could and would do what the pack required. It was a small task.

Slowly his eyes cooled and he looked at Selene

Selene gave Khorrigan a soft smile in comfort she felt bad for the poor abused teen. She knew how much it hurt being snapped at, tormented by the others.

She frowned a bit at the snarl and shrank back, maybe he wasn't the victim he seemed.

"Selene...would you like to tell us a little story before we go our seperate ways?" He smirked slowly, but it was not the warm grin he shared with the others.

The slight omega female trembled under Chernabogs gaze before trying to bolster herself. She turned to the other wolves, she knew what story Chernabog referred to. She had no desire to ever relive that terrible day.

Chernabog chuckled. "Maybe she needs a bit of coaxing, we all want to hear how this land was before Selene...and why you are what you are...and what you want." He grinned at the word want as Selene's lavender eyes lit up

"Wh-what I want? I want...I want death! Deliverance from this place, and...and all of you...you MONSTERS!" She growled out finally but her gaze rested heaviest on Clooney.

Riko wandered into the clearing to find she had missed quite a bit of the introductions. She stay off to the side of the clearing and watched everyone. They were all in much better condition then she was and she felt quite out of place but she wasn't going to show her unease about that. She knew her place was low and she was ok with that. As long as she could do her job of keeping the pups in line then that gave her some power to be in charge of something. She looked around and saw Kiara who had lead her into the area where her new pack lived. She had been familiarizing her self with the area when she heard the call from their leader and came as fast as her body, and her memory of the area, could get her to where the call had come from.

She sat and looked at the teen wolf that Kiara had with her and thought that might be her charge, but wasn't sure. She hoped that she would be able to please this strong leader and could prove her worth to them and be able to help make a thriving pack for them all.

Clooney continued to stay put, watching the others while listening in onto every word his Lord and Master spoke to the wolves around them. Including those who had recently shown themselves, previously absent or late to the seen. Twitching his tail, he used every ounce of his composition to stay still growing eager to pad off into the unfamiliar pack lands, ready to start his career with Reign of Terror officially. He shifted on his hips, continuously staring.

But with his alpha's glance toward Selene as did his own eyes travel. He knew only flecks of her existence as well as why she was here, but enough to understand that pain in her eyes. Her words gave him enough time to reply, smirking in his tone alone. "Aw, that hurts deep. And here I thought I was treating you fairly, little Selene," he murmured to her, using his voice to probe into her mind, allowing it to be the only thing to torture her as he stood stock still. Those pointed ears of his were not forward. Instead they were alive, swiveling toward the other wolves listening to them all the while keeping his attention on what was begging him to learn.
