The tan and red female looked across the glittering lake in front of her. Her search for a place to rest had led her to this lake the day before and she found it a relaxing place to be. The sun had just risen moments ago and the song of the birds freed her spirit.
Feeling inspired by this lovely tone Tulip decided that she would contribute to the music with her own melody. Slowly she bagan her song. Emotions were overwhelming and she felt true passion towards the song she was singing. Her songs weren't songs of words, but songs of whistles. Each whistle carried out her emotions.

Fire glowed in Aiden's pelt as he padded through the undergrowth. His tiny tail was twitching for a reason unknown. The sun had just risen, the morning was still cool. A small breeze was carried from the lake to the exact spot where Aiden was standing, ruffling his pelt. Suddenly, his ears twitched and angled toward the lake from which the breeze came. A tune, a small, but powerful, whistling floated toward him. The whistling sounded pure, as if coming from deep within the heavens. He turned and started toward the lake, despite his major dislike for water. The tune was consuming his thoughts, all he could think about was the whistling, the beauty of it, and where it could have come from. Aiden reached just outside the lake, and crouched behind a bush. Standing just offshore was a gorgeous red and tan female Ulaya. She seemed to be angled, so Aiden could see that her lips were moving, ever so slightly. Aiden put two and two together, and figured that the song was coming from the female. His heart melted. The gorgeous song and the gorgeous girl together were too much for him. He blinked and sat back on his haunches, accidentally rustling the bush a bit. He gasped slightly, then looked back at the female, wondering whether or not she had noticed the ruckus he was making.

Tulip heard the bushes moving but continued her song. This was serious to her. She wouldn't let some bushes stop her from finishing her song. Her whistling grew ever softer as she neared the songs end. Anticipation emmited from her. She wanted to see who was there. Who was secretly watching her while she was singing.
About ten heartbeats later her song came to a slow and steady stop and she laid down. Instead of going to see whatever was hiding in the bush she would wait for it to come out and face her. All her focus was based on that single bush.
The sunlight was hitting her at the perfect angle as she continued to gaze in the direction of the bush. She felt as if her pelt was glowing from the fine rays of the sun. A small light flickered from the bush too, and Tulip looked curiously at it. She was almost positive that that light had not come from the sun, but instead from a different source.

Scarlet eyes glinted and flashed in Aiden's direction. He sat behind the bush, stunned. The song had finished moments ago, and its beauty and flow had taken him by surprise. His own red eyes could not help but staring at the creature who had whistled the song.
A Ulaya, like him, lie there, watching him. He suspected she was waiting for him to make the first move.
Aiden shuffled his paws and stood, still staring at the gorgeous female that lie only feet away. The bush rustled as he started to pad off toward her. He looked down a bit, trying to shield his eyes from the glaring sun. Only a few steps and he was in front of the female.
His fire was roaring, the pink and purple flames lapping at his fur. He looked about for a second, then lie down in front of the other Ulaya. He looked into her deep, blood-red eyes, trying not to show his intimidation. He was ready to speak, but unable to move his mouth, or control his brain enough to communicate with his tongue. He did feel inferior, but he was afraid to show it.

Tulip's eyes flashed as the bush moved and the most handsome Ulaya she ever saw padded out of it. His pelt was burning brightly with purple and pink flames that only seemed to intensify his beauty. She couldn't help but to look down at her chest for a moment.
She watched steadily as he padded slowly in her direction then sit down in front of her. When Tulip's eyes met his she almost shook. His red eyes seemed to burn into hers with a firey passion none could stand. But, at the smae time, she felt drawn to it.
Ten hearts beats... Twelve... Eighteen... Twenty...
Nothing happened in that time. They both just stared at eachother. Tulip decided not to make the first move like before. Instead she only gazed at him.

Passion and awkwardness consumed the air between the two Ulaya who sat there gazing intently at each other. The female sat motionlessly, speaking nothing, and the only movement about her was the slight rise and fall of her chest.
Aiden decided to do something, breaking the 37 heart beats of silence that fell between them. "Aiden." All he decided to do was speak his name, hoping it would trigger some conversation between them. Maybe he could get her name? Maybe, but probably not. She was probably frightened, like the others. His fire had no feeling, was neither cold nor hot at the touch. He'd try to convince the other Ulaya, but they were ignorant to the truth.
A burning intensity flashed through Aiden's eyes as he continued to gaze at the female, hoping to grab her name.

Tulip felt a small smile forming on her lips and murmured. "Tulip." She felt attracted to him. No, Aiden. Slowly she got up and padded next to him settling down right next to him. She didn't care if she got burnt. The thought of being next to him brought happyness into her heart.
Surprisingly enough the flames had no feel. no cold nor warmth. This surprised Tulip as she looked over him. His pelt was completely covered by this harmless fire. It was an astonding sight to see the sunlight bounce off the fire making them brighter than ever.

Tulip... Aiden turned her name around over and over in his head, the beauty of it consuming his thoughts. He was brought back to reality when he spotted Tulip trotted toward him, her white and scarlet fluffy tail bouncing as she walked, a passionate gleam in her eye. He tensed as she lie down next to him. The fact that she wasn't afraid brought joy to him.
"That song..." was all he could murmur, astonished by the pretty mixture of colors upon her pelt. A warm fuzziness consumed his heart, as if his heart had suddenly grown fur. He realized this is what they meant when they said 'love at first sight,' or rather, 'love at first sound.'
Aiden longed for Tulip's bravery, her courage... the admiring look in her eye as she stared down at his flame-covered pelt. He smiled at the thought of her beside him, admiring him. It brought a joy to his heart that he had never felt before.

Tulip smiled and murmured, "That song is one of the many I sing each day." There was a gleam in her eyes as she said it although she wasn't quite sure that he heard her. He must have been attracted to the song like most of the others had. Who would've thought that her song would even affect other Ulaya.
Tulip looked over him again. This time noticing every detail. His weren't ordinary flames. They were just there. And the fact that they were purple and pink threw off that they were real.
His pelt was a lovely mixture of soft violet and white and his eyes stood out most of all. They were bright red.

"Really?" Aiden raised his white, non-existant eyebrows, feigning surprise. With a voice like that, it's no wonder she had sung many times over before he had overheard her.
He blinked his shining red eyes, not daring to take his sight off Tulip. He shifted his paws, trying to get a better look at the female whom he was talking to. Her eyes were the color of blood. More commonly called Scarlet. She had a white and red fluffy tail. Her pelt was of shades of tan, gold, and scarlet. The jewelry that clung to her forepaws and forehead was of a striking shade of gold, and her gem was red. Red, Aiden thought, the color not of royalty, not of a seer, but of a more common Ulaya. One like me. He smiled at the similarities they shared. Not much, but enough to strike conversation, if needed.
"So..." Aiden broke the proper conversation by butting in with a word that meant absolutely nothing to anyone. They needed something more to talk about, this was appearant. All that seemed to be happening was useless conversation and them staring at each other, blind to all words. This wasn't enough for Aiden. He wanted more.

"Well?" Tulip prompted. This conversation was getting no where. They needed something to talk about. Personal intrests? Tulip wasn't an Ulaya who could strike serious conversations. She remembered her day with Willow and couldn't help but giggle. Their conversations were anything but normal. More like adnormal!
She knew that this conversation would have to be serious... Or atleast it should be.

Aiden could see that Tulip was getting impatient with the pointless conversation. "The lake. Do you come here often?" He asked a simple question, wondering the answer. He had never been in water, and was afraid of doing so because of his flames. He was unsure of what would happen if they were to be submerged.
Aiden sat there, staring at the beauty of a Ulaya, awaiting an answer. He hoped she didn't like to swim or anything, and if she did, he'd have to get used to it and show no fear. He would do whatever it took to gain the love of Tulip - if he hadn't already.

"Well, I'm always searching for a place to stay and I think I've found it. So, the answer would be no. I didn't ever come here except for today. This place... It's really enjoyable and it's like where I was born..." Tulip trailed and memories of her childhood fell upon her. The blood... The blood... It was... Everywhere. Shaking off those memories she asked, "Would you like to go for a dip? Or would you rather not?" She asked looking at his flames. They might weaken if they touch water or, they were a part of him. In that case they probably wouldn't disappear. To be truthful, Tulip longed for a swim right now. The sun was making her pelt feel uncomfortabley hot.

Aiden nodded his head, then thought about her childhood. She had trailed off at the end of that sentence and he wanted to know why. Was she remembering happy, fuzzy memories of her kit days? Or was she imagining something darker, deeper, more... emotional?
A dip? She had thrown him completely off guard. His pelt tingled with anxiety. He was nervous. She seemed to be anticipating an answer but he was unsure what she would like to hear. Trying to sound confident, he answered her. "Sure." He had almost shocked himself with his decision. But even if his flames did get washed away in the small ripples of the water, he would have made a friend. That was more important, wasn't it?
Not giving Tulip time to see his clear nervousness he strode forward and looked down at the water. He stared at his reflection, then tentatively stuck his paw into the water. His paws weren't covered in flame like the rest of the body. He would look like he was just testing the water temperature at that moment, which was very cold.

Tulip watched him dip his paw in the water. Without a moment's hesitation she bounded fowad and jumped into the water. The cold liquid quickly engulfed her and she swam stronly through the water back to where Aiden was. Come on, the water's fine!" She yelled, willing him to get in.
Pushing off with her hind-paws she swam strongly in the water.
